We had a very comfortable stay over the weekend. The Hotel is ideally placed to enjoy the local pubs, beauty spots, shops and transport links. It was quiet and we enjoyed a really lovely meal via room service on Saturday evening. We have stayed here before and definitely will again.

Hotel opened in 1861, personally really like it In the residential area of Portsmouth, but not far from the sea, the only shortcoming is that it is a little far from the convenience store food area, the others are really impeccable. Especially the decoration design of the room and the hotel, you can see that they are very design. Breakfast needs to choose the package you want according to the menu, and then tell the waiter that I ordered a typical English breakfast full meal, the portion is very large.

From the time of the arrival to end of our one night stay I can not fault the reception young ladies. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room my friend and I was in was a deluxe twin bed, (private own bathroom). A lovely room with pleasant views and windows that can be open. (even though it was on the third floor. Regardless of that, it certainly was worth the money & stay :) We can not fault the room it was pefect for location our stay and we most definately would stay again, if we had too, in the near future . Thank you to all at The Duke Of Buckingham :) for making our stay a happy & pleasant stay. Best Wishes Tracy :) & friend Sarah :) xx

Poor nights sleep Great location and a nice spacious apartment with a full kitchen. Unfortunately, the bed mattress seems very old and is very uncomfortable. The trains are a bit noisy, and ear plugs are useful, but the bed is what ruined our sleep. Checkin was easy and the staff very helpful.

Very nice staff，especially Hasan！Very enthusiastic and friendly！When we go back to the hotel，he always say hello to us. We feel so happy and warm. In other words，in Chinese we call it “宾至如归”. Sent note about request for 2 beds, but then I couldn't locate the request on Trip.com or confirmation. Not sure what happened, but they did change the room and sent someone to make up the bed. Only had 1 set of towels. Also,AC did not work well. They said it was on, but we had it on full fan 19 degrees C and couldn't feel it.
