Cosy Cottage in South Yorkshire Village. Pub, chemist, local museum and shops within 1 min walk. 5 mins to RSPB heritage sites and short distance to Yorkshire National Park area of outstanding beauty. Also nestled between Barnsley, Sheffield, York, Wakefield and Leeds. The cottage has two double bedrooms with double beds and a sofa in the comfortable living room. Recently renovated from a vintage workers cottage. The old features remain but with the comfort of modern amenities and wifi. New bathroom has a bath and power shower. Kitchen has washing machine, air fryer, oven and hob . There is a dining table for four as well as mini breakfast bar in the kitchen. Wonderful south facing garden with patio which is fenced off for privacy. Views over the village and nature reserves. A great spot to travel around the Yorkshire area. Overall nice hotel, good sized room, nice and modern. Big comfortable bed. Only faults was there was a load of ladybirds in the bathroom, looks like there was some form of infestation. Only noticed this in the morning and reported it to the front desk when checked out. The bathroom door is also frosted with the window leaking through so was quite bright in the morning, think this might have just been my room though with it being on the end. It was great location for a wedding I attended at Hooton Pagnall Hall - only 10 mins away so great location for what I needed. Staff were friendly. Would recommend

First time I have stayed there hotel is beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It was a break for me and my wife as my mum passed 10 days ago and we wanted a break. Nice big room shame no bath, only problem we were near the staff exit and heard noise till late and very early in the morning. I complained to receptionist and we have a discounted rate next time we stay. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

Upon arrival I got a very warm welcome from staff and they upgraded the room that was nice it's very clean and looks modern the beds comfy TV works great and WiFi is good very warm room and slept well had the breakfast continental was a good selection staff was very polite then had the full English didn't have the works but was full would definitely stay here again it's in the middle of town and 5 mins walk away from train station so u have everything you need close by

WE HAD A FRIDGE The toilet sit had some soap smudge on it and initially thought is something else but if foamed when tried to clean it (I always have sanitizer with me as is only human to miss a spot and do a mistake. Didn't kill me cleaning that myself. Housekeeping job ain't easy. Bless you all. Just keep a better eye to avoid Karen type❤️) The receptionists were all friendly and happy to assist me with both check in and check out. We absolutely loved our room and the view was magnificent. The dawn was heavenly seen from our window❤️ What I loved the most was the fact that in the room we had a FRIDGE. Many hotels don't have that anymore and imagine having a room without a fridge with this heatwave going on 🥵 I will attach a photo with our beautiful view🤩 This hotel will be my top choice whenever I'll need a room around the area. Clean room, clean hallway, clean reception area. Please keep an eye for the accessible rooms. Read all description and detail before booking as they have special rooms for people with a health condition and the room will have some things at a low level to the ground. Will be your fault for not choosing the right room not the hotel's as you need to read description always. Don't take it out to the staff for your own mistake😊 Seen a lot complaining about that, as I've seen also about the rooms accessible and didn't understand the term initially, until I went through the details. After reading the details I knew exactly what room I need to book and what would not be convenient for me🙌 Bless you all and hope this review will be of help to some of you at least 😊

My room iwas a diuble bed room with a sofa. It was clean clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good. Reasonable price. The staff was frendly and helpful. I had an urgent meeting and requested the staff to extend the check out time. The staff extended the change our check out time for free. It was a 6 mins driving distance to the town centre and railway station. It is good for those who drive. Free parking.But if you don't drive, the hotel may not be the perfect choice.

Most authoritative evaluation: No mineral water is provided, no disposable toothbrushes, slippers, toothpaste, the room is very cold and no heating! There is no stairs on the second floor! Because there are more things, it is very tired when moving, and then there is very little toilet paper, basically no new ones!

This is a very basic hotel; but it's priced accordingly and was perfectly adequate for my trip / requirements. Room was clean, with fresh towels and bed linen. Decent size tv, and WiFi good. Had a bath/shower - pleasant surprise. Being pet friendly is a must for me, and has handy grass area to walk round. The staff were efficient and couldn't have been more friendly; I had dinner in the bar area - pretty standard pub food, at right price. I didn't have time for breakfast, but it smelled good!

Very noisy at night. I had to go and purchase some ear plugs for second night due to only having a few hours sleep previous night from the noise. Plenty of teabags and milk provided but no spoons! Bedside light had no bulb in so had to have big light on. TV in room had poor signal so every station jumps. Bathroom door needs cleaning and overall room needs some updating
