Established in 1879, this hotel is indeed the Grand Birmingham Hotel! It oozes classiness throughout. Our room was spacious but looking at the floor plan, that seems to be the standard! Bathrobes provided though not slippers. The shower has a door instead of the useless walk in panels that never work! No useless espresso cups but proper world map mugs for our coffees and tea in-room. Two comfortable arm chairs and the bed… The bed was a dream and I’m hoping to source the exact mattress topper and duvet! Perfect for me as a smoker, the hotel has an exclusive courtyard terrace on the first floor offering complimentary self service coffee. There are two adjacent restaurants to the hotel that uphold a dress code ensuring the premises is classy throughout. Beyond the hotel doors there’s plenty other eateries as the hotel is bang in the centre right by the Birmingham Cathedral: again perfect for our following Palm Sunday. The only thing I don’t understand is why the hotel entrance is not bigger and grander than it deserves.

Really unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the room, there was a huge amount of dust anywhere that I was sneezing continuously. Also, the most disgusting thing were the bedsheets, stained with yellow spots! I asked for a new set of bedsheets and the reception gave them to me and I had to put them on, because there was no one of the cleaning team to do it. Very very very unsatisfied.

This hotel offers a consistent and reliable experience, making it a solid choice for travelers seeking a hassle-free stay. The overall atmosphere is calm and professional, with a focus on efficiency rather than luxury. Guests can expect a clean and orderly environment, with attention paid to maintaining quiet and comfort. The decor and design are simple but tasteful, contributing to a neutral and unobtrusive ambiance. While not particularly distinctive, the hotel delivers on what it promises, leaving a generally positive impression for those prioritizing practicality over extravagance.

The Staybridge Suites are a little jewel in Birmingham. From check-in to check-out, staff were really friendly and professional. The choice at the buffet breakfast was substantial and options for all tastes. Really comfy mattress and spotless bed linen. There was a problem with the fan in my room on the first night, and when I reported it to reception the next day, to resolve the issue, I was offered a different room for my second night. Instead, I just kept the card out of the light switch when I was ready to go to sleep. As I only had one more night I did not take up the offer of the change of room but I really appreciated that they would have done this for me which shows that they really want to make customers happy. Having a fridge and kitchen items was really good. The only downside was that the shower did not drain away quickly, so if you keep an eye on this when you are in the shower, you could end up with water all over the bathroom floor. Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again.

What a gem! Literally direct opposite one of the rear entrances of the grand New Street Station, up the stairs/lift into a little arcade of shops (nail bar/hair salon and luxury watches) and the hotel entrance. The check in lobby is nothing much impressive but the overall building and decor with high ceilings, big staircases and marble surfaces are albeit a bit outdated in tone, still much preferable to us. The room is very spacious and the bathroom with Elemis supplied soap walk-shower and self-standing bathtub is the biggest we’ve ever been into. The hotel bar, restaurant and breakfast area are located on the first floor looking over the New Street pedestrian shopping street and the staff are very good. ROOM ✖️ Bidet/Toilet Shower ☑️ Powerful Shower ✖️ Separate Conditioner ✖️ Vanity Kit ☑️ Slippers ☑️ Bathrobe ☑️ Double Pillows ☑️ Kettle ✖️ Balcony/Terrace ✖️ Smart TV HOTEL ✖️ Well Appointed Reception Area ☑️ Professional Staff ✖️ Beautiful public areas ☑️ Good adjacent restaurants ✖️ Outdoor protected seating

Very disappointed when we arrived at 14.30 on Friday to be told it would cost us £10 if we wanted to checkin before 15.00. Even though I had joined the Ibis membership scheme ALL.com on Tuesday and my mate who was sharing the twin room has been a member for over 3 years. The reception was a real “job’s worth” and said as the booking was in my name this didn’t count and insisted on trying to charge us £10 to boo in 30 minutes early. Even though when I signed up to the scheme in Bristol on Tuesday we were allowed to book in at 1 o’clock 🤷🏽♂️ Other than that, it was OK, not great

Unfortunately other than its location this hotel has nothing good going for it. There was a queue when I got there, strange for that time - 20:30ish. The lift was dark and depressing, the room even more so. There was an awful smell like vomit lingering in the room. The floor looked unclean. The bathroom floor was the same and the corners were filthy. I didn’t feel clean being in the room. The tv was good as it was a smart tv so I watched what I wanted. The walls are paper thin and I could hear every noise and things being plugged into the sockets on the wall. The doors banged shut and this was annoying all night. The wallpaper was very old and was covered in layers of paint. There is no air con, the heating was on when I entered The bed was the worst thing I have ever slept on. The springs were poking me all night long, I barely slept. There was no hairdryer either so I didn’t use the shower. If your on a super tight budget sta here but I’m sure you can find airbnb cheaper than this.

Our go to hotel when in Birmingham. Rooms come with a smart tv. It’s not in the city centre but only a 10 min drive away or maybe a 20 min walk. However it tends to be a lot cheaper then centre hotels and is very modern.

Fabulous apartment, really spacious, clean and tidy with all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Reception staff were very polite friendly and helpful, would be nice if the reception hours were longer though. Location was perfect for easy access to all the attractions of Birmingham City center, although the area itself doesn't look the nicest it was safe and secure and closer to my both the train and bus station. Would highly recommend this accommodation and Birmingham in general as a lovely place to visit

Good location but there is a nightclub nearby. It was too noisy when we opened the window. The cooler air cond) was out of order. Hotel staff Romila was very helpful. She arranged another room with cooler working properly. Therefore, we can close all the window to reduce the noise and can have better sleep.

This was the second times I stayed in this hotel and found the staff very welcoming and friendly, which made check-in smooth and pleasant. The location is excellent—convenient for exploring the area and close to local attractions. The only downside was the noise at night, likely from nearby bars, which might be a consideration for light sleepers. Overall, a good spot for a short stay if you’re looking for comfort and accessibility.

A nice little new holiday inn central to everything in Birmingham City Centre (within walking distance). Staff friendly and helpful but do appear to be overworked which lets down their potential good service. On check in there was only two people on the desk but one had to keep leaving the desk intermittently to serve on the bar adjacent to the reception desk. Breakfast is what you would expect but and is your basic full English, fruits, pasties and juices. Beds are comfortable and rooms were clean, good shower. Would stop there again as is a good spot for city weekender or something similar. Great views from the 17th floor (the highest floor)

The rooms are large and relatively rare in Europe. Get off the plane very late, because it is close to the airport, take a taxi for 5 minutes, take a night off to hurry, the waiter at the front desk is impatient, discriminates against me or Ctrip reservations, the Italian chick who accompanied me uses the company agreement price Just to accompany smiling faces. There was no confirmation slip and no signature. There are not many breakfast items but they are all very delicious and the restaurant environment is very good. We recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre and were really impressed from start to finish ⭐. The location could not be more convenient 📍. It is right in the heart of the city, just a few minutes’ walk from New Street Station, the Bullring shopping centre, The Mailbox, and plenty of restaurants and bars. It made getting around Birmingham incredibly easy and meant we could make the most of our time without worrying about transport 🚆🛍️. Our room was spotlessly clean 🧼 and well maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable 🛏️, the décor was modern, and the facilities in the room, including tea and coffee ☕, a safe, and toiletries, were all of good quality. We also appreciated the little touches that made the room feel welcoming and practical for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel amenities were excellent. We made use of the bar and lounge area 🍹, which had a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Breakfast was a real highlight 🍳🥐, fresh, plentiful, and delicious, with a wide variety of hot and cold options to suit all tastes. Everything was well stocked even during busy times, and staff were attentive without being intrusive 😊. Overall, our stay was smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable. The combination of an ideal location, clean and well equipped rooms, good amenities, and an outstanding breakfast makes this hotel a great choice for a visit to Birmingham 🌆. We would be very happy to stay here again and can confidently recommend it to anyone visiting the city 👍

It's not the best hotel on the street. It's very expensive, and breakfast £18 each and we did return throughout our stay. The food was very poor. Weatherspoon was a lot cheaper and nicer. Communal lights on my corridor did not function as it should. I booked a deluxe room, which is basic. No shaver plug in inside the bathroom. TV isn't smart. The bathroom was very clean. These days, they struggle to charge the costs to my room. Communal shared areas are great but rooms very basic.
