|2.32km from city centreA great hotel in a good location for visitors to Sheffield. The advantage of staying slightly out of the city centre for free parking and a peaceful location. The rooms are clean, spacious and quiet in lovely grounds. We had 4 rooms with our party which were booked at a reasonable price and 2 were upgraded on arrival which was a bonus. The staff were friendly and welcoming especially the lady on reception. Would happily stay here again

|2.77km from city centreThe hotel is very clean. In the morning, I went to the restaurant through the beautiful English garden. It felt very good. In addition to regular coffee and drinks, the breakfast was quite good. The front desk is so-so. It is about 5-6 stops by rail from the University of Sheffield. It feels a little bit remote. There is a large supermarket/parking lot nearby. From the station, pass the supermarket back to the hotel. There were some fast food a few hundred meters behind the hotel, but we did not go.

Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable.
Breakfast was great with plenty of options.
Bar food was lovely and reasonably priced.
Overall very happy with our stay.

The building itself is rather nice. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the hotel itself feels safe and pleasant. However, the rooms are small, in particular, the showers are small... I have friends who would genuinely be unable to squeeze through the small door to enter the shower cubicle.

The hotel, being directly attached to the Winter Garden, has a great central location and is less than ten minutes by foot to the train station (which is all wheelchair and suitcase accessible).
All the breakfast staff were also attentive and helpful even early in the morning.

Location was OK if the canal side bars were accessible through the rear of the lobby but it was locked so had to turn a 2min walk into a 10min walk but not the end of the world. There were hairs in the bath and some rubbish in the corner of the room but other than that, all was fine. Loved they had an iron and ironing board but the cover was a little grotty. Overall, I'd stay again.

You can take the elevator with your luggage. Then you'll see the square across the road. It only takes a few minutes to get there. The room is quite big. Cons: The cleanliness is sloppy and the breakfast is terrible. I even found hair in the scrambled eggs and I lost my appetite instantly. Overall, it was not a comfortable stay. Not recommended.

|0.6km from city centreI am Benny Mok(the register name is WAI-FU MOK), spent three days there at ROOM 211 from 31/7/2022 to 2/8/2022 in summer & I found that all the facilities in the hotel were superb & I was highly satisfied. The only shortcoming was there was a long weird sound when flushing at the bathroom. There might be some problems in the toilet bowl hose.
Otherwise than that, I highly recommend this hotel cuz all the staff members at the hotel ARE SUPER FRIENDLY, welcoming, cheerful, caring including the housekeeping ladies !
Last but not least, the receptionist ~KARRA RIPPON. karra was the most patient, helpful, amicable , devoted, loving, thoughtful & caring staff member over there & there is no doubt about that! Would you mind sharing this inspiring message with this excellent receptionist and tell her that the inspiring message was from a HONG KONG IMMIGRANT FAMILY ? Many thanks & I owe you one!

|6.36km from city centreWe were issued keys that failed to open the door forcing us to make our way back to the front office. Our room, by the way was last on a long corridor on the upper floor of an extended wing if you can picture that. We booked (and paid for) a room for three but upon entering, the extra bed was not made up. Tried to call every number on the house phone but none was answered which meant another long walk to the front office, again.
When we found the drain in the shower clogged I was hesitant to complaint to avoid further disappointment but I did anyhow and true enough - nothing was done.
I must admit the hotel had one of the widest selection of tea and coffee (and chocolate drink mix) I've seen in a hotel room. I appreciated the coffee but unfortunately, restocking was only done once throughout our 4 night stay. I wonder if this was to be expected.
Double Tree is a respectable brand (at least in my part of the world) but I don't understand what could have gone so wrong with this one.

Some noise may come from the corridor but the night I stayed was quiet. The staff at reception was lovely. Walking distance from the city centre. I did not sleep well, the mattress was rather uncomfortable. I did report it and was told they were in the process of upgrading mattresses. The staff were all very happy, welcoming and friendly.

If you bring big baggage be careful of the slope. Rooms are basically clean but the shared facilities are used by all the guests. You can't expect they are always clean. Hosts are friendly that would help you when you need.

Hotel was pleasant enough for what it was. Comfortable bed and warm room. The shower wasn’t very hot but acceptable.
Breakfast was good but I thought £15 per night for car park a bit steep. Being next to the Sheffield United football ground I could understand the need to ration parking but this wasn’t a match day and there is not much close to attract drivers who might use the parking available.

Fully equipped: kettle, microwave oven, induction cooker can burn 4 pots at the same time, dishwasher, oven, small refrigerator have freezing and refrigeration. A set of knives and small cutting boards, mugs, glass, red wine glasses, dishes, three large, medium and small soup pots, one of the wok is estimated to be burnt and cannot be used, washing baskets, glassware dishes, knife and fork spoons are very complete without chopsticks, different types of pot shovel spoons are complete, Red wine bottle opener dumplings are available, very very intimate. Self-check-in is also very convenient to follow the mail operation steps, check out and put the key in the box next to the door downstairs. The bathroom does not provide slippers, shower gel, disposable shampoo, towels, bath towels, no front desk staff, communication is not very convenient when encountering problems, you can contact the apartment customer service by email or phone, or contact the supplier to transfer to the apartment with Trip.com . Some paint downstairs caused the bathroom (our room type has no window) to smell when checking in, and it was solved by contacting the apartment through Trip.com .
