The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The lobby is clean, bright, and comfortable, and the room hygiene was excellent. The staff were all very enthusiastic, and they even have a robot to deliver items! There's a gym and a laundry room, making it fantastic value for money. I'll definitely recommend it to my colleagues and will be back again next time!

No matter how late it was, they'd deliver our takeout right to the door. There's also a basketball court and a gym on the 2nd floor, perfect for entertaining the kids.

Chongqing's Top Accommodation Pick! This hotel is absolutely flawless. This is my nth time staying at this hotel, and every time I come to Chongqing, I don't hesitate to choose it. The experience is consistently excellent! The room is spacious and bright, with huge windows that let in abundant natural light, making it feel incredibly comfortable as soon as you step in. The cleanliness is beyond reproach; the bed linens, duvet covers, desks, and floors are all spotless, with great attention to detail. The service is a definite bonus. From check-in to responding to daily needs, everything is quick and thoughtful. The staff are exceptionally friendly and make you feel very welcome. The breakfast spread is incredibly rich and delicious; whether you prefer Chinese congee or Western pastries, you'll find something to your liking. Eating a good breakfast here gives you plenty of energy for a full day of exploring. Most importantly, the transportation is super convenient. It's easy to get to attractions and shopping districts, saving a lot of hassle on the road. I sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chongqing. From the environment and service to the amenities, every aspect is impeccable. I will definitely choose it again next time!

Every year when I visit Chongqing, I always stay at the Sheraton. Last year, my room wasn't great, but this year the front desk staff upgraded me to a much larger room for free. I drove to the hotel and asked which room had a good view for the drone show before placing my order. After ordering, I was told the room wasn't ready and I'd have to wait to check in, even though it was already past 3 PM. Hotels shouldn't compromise guests' check-in experience. After I got upset (before that, the front desk offered to downgrade my room if I insisted on getting in immediately, which really set me off), a room suddenly became available without an upgrade. After checking in, I was then told that the N3 river view room, which cost over 2700 for the weekend, didn't have a bathtub. However, after I expressed my dissatisfaction, the hotel sent macarons and arranged my dining and afternoon tea at a balanced location. The soundproofing in the room was poor; I could clearly hear the normal phone conversations from next door in the early morning. I only got to sleep peacefully after the hotel communicated with that guest. The service managed to compensate for the hardware shortcomings, and it was fortunate that the guest next door was also understanding and well-mannered, otherwise, it could have led to more trouble. Others said the breakfast had limited variety, but since it had my favorite 'xiaomian' (noodles), I thought it was quite good. My best friends in college were all from Chongqing, and I think Chongqing people are great. This was also the first time in a long while that I was so moved I tipped the chauffeur. The drone show view from the room was also satisfactory. A special shout-out to the valets at the entrance, who were all excellent. To give an objective review, without exaggeration or unfair criticism, the hotel's hardware has some issues, and the software has minor flaws, but all these can be resolved with increased communication.

I don't know why this hotel never comes up when I try to book accommodations on Trip.com. It might be because it’s located in the middle of a city with hundreds of hotels. Finding a hotel in Chongqing can be challenging, as you need to consider your preferences, like whether you want a hotel with a mountain view, city view, or river view. However, if you want to be at the center of it all, near Jiefangbei Street and Bayi Street, this hotel is a must. I discovered this hotel after booking and canceling my reservations multiple times. It is affordable, centrally located, and the rooms are spacious. If I have the chance to return to Chongqing, I will definitely go back to this hotel. It may not be brand new, but being in the heart of the city is what really matters. I am truly satisfied with my experience.

We went there with our friend’s family. 4 adults and a baby. We enjoyed our stay since it was very close to the main touristic spots. It also has a swimming pool that is good for kids to play in and the view was amazing. The place was clean and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and they even gave us the opportunity of a late check out for the little baby to have his afternoon nap.

The hotel's environment and hygiene are excellent, and the bedding is comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The scenery is also beautiful, perfect for photos, and the room design is unique and impressive. The butler service was very warm; they personally escorted us and our luggage to the room and thoughtfully asked if we needed the air conditioning on – truly wonderful! The hotel also offers complimentary value-added services like laundry. We just had to hand our clothes to the mini-butler, and they were returned to us clean, without us having to go to the laundry room or operate the machines ourselves. It's fantastic! This is my second time staying at this hotel, mainly because of its incredibly convenient location. The room's location was excellent, and I really appreciate the hotel upgrading my room. This time, I was upgraded to an executive floor, and the butler would check in with us periodically, responding to all our needs – it was very nice. In late December, it was quite cold outside, so the heated pool was a huge plus; the kids could play in the evening, and I didn't have to worry about the water temperature. Although there wasn't a bed rail, the bed was large enough for three people without disturbing each other. Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel with its exceptional location making every destination within 30 minutes or less than 30 yuan per didi ride. Rooms were well designed with most modern amenities but excluded any cutlery or crockery to complement their kitchenette with full fridge. Loved the automated bidet as well as washing/dryer provided. The city views are brilliant as well though they don't have views of hongyadong. Amenities wise gym was under maintenance but was not informed earlier on this inconvenience. There's a convenience store downstairs as well as numerous eateries nearby and within jiefangbei walking distance. Breakfast had a good spread however the food was mostly cold as if the warmers were not working. There's a mandatory 500 yuan deposit which will be refunded upon check out. Hotel was kind enough to upgrade me to a higher floor room and provide me with a late check out at 2pm on a complimentary basis.

Kempinski has been open for over a decade now. Upon checking in, I noticed that all the furnishings and facilities in the room, while perhaps excellent in their time, are now showing their age. The Sony TV, though a bit small, still has good picture quality. However, many of the room's features suffer from a lack of maintenance. Numerous buttons were slow to respond; for example, with the automatic curtains, I had to press the button many times before it would finally work. The TV remote also required multiple presses to get a reaction. The bedside lamp switch would turn the light on for a moment, then it would immediately flicker off. The mini-bar was extremely basic, offering only Nescafé instant coffee and simple tea bags, with just two bottles of mineral water. What was most bizarre was finding the mini-fridge locked, despite there being a price list for drinks in the mini-bar. After calling housekeeping, the fridge was unlocked when we returned, but it was completely empty. What are we supposed to consume then? What's the point of having a price list? The bed and pillows were both too soft; as soon as you sat on the bed, you would sink into the middle. The overall service awareness at this hotel doesn't live up to a five-star standard. Throughout my stay, aside from a cleaning lady on my floor who proactively greeted me, everyone else provided silent service, never speaking unless explicitly asked. There was supposed to be a complimentary 500ml fresh beer, but the front desk didn't mention it at check-in. When I called from my room to inquire, the person on the phone wasn't sure how to handle it at the front desk and didn't follow up on the issue. Breakfast variety was just average. I had hoped the European bread would be good, but there was only baguette and toast, and other dishes were also quite ordinary. The only thing that left a strong impression was the freshly cooked rice noodles, which had a very well-seasoned broth, and you could add pickled vegetables yourself. There was also no salt or pepper on the dining tables; you had to ask a server for them.

If you want a river view, this is definitely the hotel for you. The executive room offers an unobstructed, direct view of the river. The bathroom is incredibly spacious and comes with a large bathtub for soaking. Bath salts are provided, but bath bags need to be purchased. The lighting design is excellent, and the water flow and drainage are smooth. All toiletries are well-stocked, and the cleaning staff (Ayi) are very diligent and thorough. The duty manager even follows up with guests. As an older hotel, it's a reliable and comfortable place to stay. Free parking is a bonus. When you're soaking in the tub, you can hear the monorail passing by, which is very Chongqing. Overall a great place. Beautiful rooms of the highest quality in every regard. The best features are the hot spring pools in the rooms of course. The showers are also great( two in every shower room) Great quality TV with great sound. Good selection of movies( not the latest releases) but all free. Food at the hotell restaurants had good standard. The best we have experienced in China. But for double the price we would pay for the same quality Chinese food in Norway. Surprisingly! But keep clear of the pizza. It is actually just a frozen pizza type. Very small. We didn’t order any more western dishes after that, except for the Cesar’s salad. Which was good. The place is old now and a bit worn. But it’s still is very very beautiful and high quality. Where this hotell really shines is the services of the staff. Even if they don’t speak English and we don’t speak Chinese they are very patient. To a Norwegian it is almost too much. They carry your bags even when thy are too heavie and many for one person. They drive you you to and from your room if you have a villa. We got an upgrade from ordinary room with hot spring pool and double bed to a villa! Because we found 6 small worms in the shower room. I think this is pretty hard to avoid in such a sub tropical and humid environment. But we reported it to the staff and they immediately gave us an upgrade with a complementary big fruit basket. We were blown away by this huge upgrade. Only thing that was a bit negative and unexpected is the extra deposit fee which is quite high. I think this should have been more clearly informed in the hotell booking and hotell online page. We were a bit low on funds as Banyan tree was our last hotell stay in China before leaving and we were on a planned but tight budget. We solved it of course with our Mastercard but it caused a bit stress for us. And a second thing is that using Alipay instead of WeChat is more difficult at the hotell. ( not impossible)But without Chinese phone number you can’t use WeChat.

It's a really good hotel. Not all the people working there speak English but they make a lot of effort with foreigner. They did their best for us to have a good time in their hotel and in China. I would recommend you to be careful of the security guard of the building which is not very nice with foreigners. Overall this hotel is very good, well place in Chongqing ( you're in the middle of all the popular place there and there's a lot of place to eat and a shopping mall near it), you have a washing machine with all you need to clean your laundry, and other accommodation.

Amazing location, easy check-in, outstanding view of the city and the drone show, very modern and spacious room. Close to Line 2 and Line 1. The bad: The service during new year's eve was a disaster. We paid for a cocktail that never came and we ordered a ”latte” that was cold and with a strange taste, it was really messy and ruined our new year's experience. On top of that for checkout the lady gave us a gift which we appreciate but she was forcing us to make a 5 star review in place and when we said we'll do it later she didn't like it. You don't need this kind of things for 5 star reviews as your hotel is actually very comfortable, just improve your service. The translator machine also does a bad translation and generates extra miscommunication.

As a hotel member, I was upgraded to a river-view room. We received a complimentary fresh fruit platter upon check-in, and the front desk even surprised the children with snacks and ice cream, which made them incredibly happy! 🥳 The breakfast spread was also quite extensive. A fantastic perk is the unlimited access to the hotel's rooftop with your room card. From this vantage point, often called the 'Peak of the Mountain City' or 'Eye Above the Clouds,' you get an amazing view of the Yangtze River islands and the romantic cityscape of Chongqing. The scenery is truly breathtaking! 👍 This hotel is definitely worth staying at, and I will choose Marriott again on my next visit to Chongqing.
