I chose the Ramada Encore in Guanyinqiao for my business trip to Chongqing this time, and it generally exceeded my expectations.
The location is incredibly convenient. The hotel is right in the heart of the Guanyinqiao commercial district. It's just a few minutes' walk to the subway station from downstairs, making it effortless for meeting clients, dining, or shopping. After work in the evening, I could even stroll out for some hotpot, which is super friendly for business travelers.
I was given a business king room, which was spacious enough. The desk was large, power strips and USB ports were conveniently placed, and the Wi-Fi speed was fast. The soundproofing was good; I barely heard any noise from the corridor, so I slept very soundly. The linens and bathroom were clean, and hot water came quickly, which is very important.
The front desk staff were highly efficient. Both check-in and check-out were smooth, and they even proactively helped me extend my stay until 2 PM. For breakfast, the highlight was the Chongqing noodles and freshly ground soy milk, which perfectly captured the local flavor. I ate them for two consecutive days without getting tired of them.

Location: Situated inside Chongqing's landmark 'Grand Sail' building, directly above Raffles City and with direct metro access. Within walking distance to Chaotianmen, Hongyadong, Jiefangbei, and the pier. There are three hotels in the 'Sail' building: InterContinental Raffles City, Hotel Indigo, and Ascott. Ascott is wholly owned by CapitaLand, the developer of Raffles City, so its quality is undoubtedly top-notch.
Facilities: Positioned as a serviced apartment, the public areas are compact yet comfortable and practical. The lobby offers complimentary tea and fresh flowers. A significant portion of the public space is dedicated to guests. The gym is well-equipped with at least two treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, as well as a full set of resistance machines. There's also a yoga room with river views, comparable to a small commercial gym. It provides hot/cold water, sanitizing wipes, towels, and even headphones with sterilized covers. The swimming pool was closed during our two-day stay, so we hope to check it out next time.
Below the hotel is Raffles City's urban garden, leading directly to a river-view platform – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle.
Room: We were fortunate to be upgraded to a two-bedroom suite, so spacious it was astounding. It features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a bathtub in the master. It includes a washer and dryer, perfect for families. The kitchen is fully equipped with a built-in microwave, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and range hood. A complete set of dishes and cookware is provided. The facilities are excellently maintained; the microwave and oven looked almost unused.
The room offers a pillow menu and abundant storage space.
Due to its unique location, Ascott's rooms offer either unbeatable river views, stunning city views, or like ours, views of both.
Service: Special thanks to Miss Genny at the front desk, who was incredibly patient during our check-in, attentively asked about our needs, and efficiently arranged our room. We arrived early, intending only to store our luggage, but to our surprise, we received our room key immediately. We are very grateful.
All hotel staff were exceptionally proactive, friendly, and helpful – carrying luggage, greeting us upon sight, making us feel right at home. The staff member on the ground floor was also wonderful, assisting with getting in and out of cars/moving luggage and patiently giving directions.

We had a wonderful stay at Niccolo Chongqing and it was exactly the kind of comfortable and refined experience we needed during our trip through China.
Our room was beautiful, extremely comfortable and had a spectacular view over Chongqing’s skyline. We particularly enjoyed being able to come back to such a peaceful and relaxing environment after exploring the city. The spa and sauna were also a great addition and made our stay even more enjoyable.
Breakfast was excellent, with a beautiful selection of both Chinese and international dishes. A special mention goes to Chef Francesco Sanna, who took the time to introduce and explain some of the wonderful dishes available at breakfast. We also really enjoyed our conversations with him – his warmth and enthusiasm made our mornings particularly memorable.
We would also like to thank Jinx, who was incredibly helpful and responsive through WeChat throughout our stay. She assisted us with several different questions and arrangements and was always available, kind and efficient. Having someone we could easily contact made everything feel effortless.
Overall, what stood out was not only the quality of the hotel, but the genuinely warm and attentive service. After travelling through several cities in China, Niccolo was one of the places where we felt most comfortable and well looked after.

This hotel is located right across from Bayi Square and is also close to the subway. Stepping out, you're on Bayi Road Food Street, where you can find all sorts of local specialty snacks. The staff were very warm and attentive. When we arrived, they immediately offered us refreshing lemon and plum juice from the hotel's self-service, which was incredibly crisp and tasty. Housekeeping was prompt; they even helped us with laundry while we were out exploring. Food delivery riders can bring orders directly to your room. Honestly, if it's not too hot, a short walk will get you to a ton of great food options. You can easily walk to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong from here, and to get to Liziba, you can take Line 2. The lounge's afternoon tea featured solid quality desserts, scones, and sandwiches. The late-night à la carte menu changes daily, and the conch dumplings and dandan noodles were particularly memorable. The lounge breakfast, a rare find in China, offers a semi-buffet paired with an à la carte menu, and the food quality was absolutely amazing. The lounge's offerings are incredibly friendly for those who can't quite handle the spiciness found outside in Chongqing!

The hotel is in the heart of Chaotianmen, directly opposite Raffles City. You can walk to Hongyadong and Jiefangbei just by going downstairs! There's a subway station downstairs, and it's incredibly convenient for getting taxis, eating, and shopping. No need to wake up early to crowd observation decks; you can see all the popular landmarks right from your bed.
🏠 The room looks like this, packed with tech
I booked a duplex Loft room. The first floor has a super large floor-to-ceiling window in the living room, and the second-floor bedroom has a giant projection screen. The entire room is controlled by smart voice; just say ”Xiao Du, Xiao Du” to turn on/off lights and curtains. Dyson hairdryer, smart toilet, capsule coffee machine – it has it all! This setup truly wins big.
🌊 High-altitude infinity pool, a photography dream
The hotel's pool has fully transparent glass extending outwards, so swimming feels like you're suspended above the city! Behind it are the錯落有致 (staggered and orderly) high-rise buildings of the mountain city. During the day, you can capture the blue sky reflection, and at night, the city's neon lights. Every shot looks like it's from a magazine; it's super photogenic.

6-7 PM in the evening is the perfect time to capture the sunset. The afterglow of the sunset over the two rivers is truly breathtaking. At night, during the blue hour, the city lights come on, and the Raffles City complex sparkles like a galaxy. Photos come with their own filter!

There's 24-hour butler service, and the front desk staff are very attentive. Check-in and check-out were super efficient.

The hotel offered a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room for Ctrip Black Diamond members, which was a lucky stroke given the room availability; the room was very spacious.
The hotel is just a three-minute walk from Jiefangbei, surrounded by many shopping malls and subway stations. The only downside is that taking a taxi can get stuck in traffic. There's also a mall downstairs with a good selection of high-end and mid-range restaurants.
The hairdryer in the room was a bit old and difficult to switch on.
There were no bed rails for children's beds.
One day we heard that breakfast ended at 10:30 AM, but on our last day, when we went at 10:30 AM, we found out it ended at 10:00 AM that day and only managed to get two packed bread boxes. Perhaps breakfast ends at 10:30 AM on weekends and 10:00 AM on weekdays. We stayed for four days. The hotel didn't provide clear enough notifications to guests about the breakfast times.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. Everyone was so nice and kind. The service was top- notch. The amenities were plenty and easy accessible. A few extras that made everything worth it were the full- sized refrigerator, with freezer, the washing machine (for which they provided soap as well), dish washer, stove top, towel drier ( in the washroom) and full sized closet. The view was so beautiful and calming as well. Everything about this room was just so nice and exactly what I needed.
I didn’t realize how perfect the location was in relation to almost everything that I wanted to see. When I figured that out, I just got up every day and walked to everything that I needed or wanted to see. It was extremely close to a lot of restaurants, malls, local shops and smaller attractions. I was less than a 10 -15 minute walk to Raffles City Shopping Center where there is a 5 story mall, Movie theatre, roof top attraction with the swing, SKY WALK and also the river front park with amazing views. Same distance for Hongyadong, the viewing platform, the Qiansemen Bridge- if you wanted to walk across the bridge at night- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! There is so much to see and experience between the hotel and these attractions. Your days will be filled with fun and adventure.

The room facilities are complete and the hygiene is quite good. It's an old-school five-star hotel. The Elemental Herbology toiletries are excellent, and the pool and hot spring experience were also good, though the women's hot spring facilities were out of order. One thing to complain about: the room was full of items for sale, with vending machines everywhere. It felt really cheap having a bunch of tagged products all over the room. Breakfast was great, with a rich selection. However, the slippers provided in the room are very slippery if there's water on the bathroom floor, making it easy to fall. I honestly would prefer plastic slippers, at least they're safe. I hope this can be improved. Also, we booked two rooms and were told one was upgraded. One room on the 23rd floor was upgraded to a scenic room on the 24th floor, while the other remained on the 23rd floor... There was no difference between the two rooms. This hotel is a hidden gem I discovered on my trip to Chongqing! The location is absolutely perfect; you can walk to the subway station, and there are tons of local eateries nearby. Getting to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong is also easily walkable, making it super convenient for sightseeing and dining. The front desk staff were incredibly kind and gentle, and check-in/check-out was very quick. They patiently answered all my questions about tourist routes and food recommendations, and any requests were handled promptly. The biggest surprise was the incredibly affordable price – excellent value for money! The room was clean and tidy, and my overall stay exceeded expectations. Staying at this hotel was such a comfortable experience during my trip! The hotel amenities were really thoughtful. The breakfast had a great variety and tasted delicious, and they even offered a complimentary breakfast for my child. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around, whether by taxi or subway. The hotel feels well-managed overall, with service and attention to detail being quite good.
The biggest feeling after checking in was comfort. The mattress and pillows in the room were very comfortable, leading to a great night's sleep. The hotel's gym and pool are also well-maintained and clean, with a nice environment. Being able to keep up with my fitness routine during my stay was a big plus.

This hotel is conveniently located near Guanyin Bridge, making transportation a breeze. While it's not the newest hotel, the room facilities are still quite good. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the breakfast spread is excellent. The room was great, and the front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They even upgraded our room for free and extended our check-out to 4 PM because our flight was delayed. They also proactively came out from behind the front desk to help us with our luggage. On our first day, we left a note in the laundry room asking them to dry our clothes and hang them back in our room because we were rushing out to explore and worried we'd be back late. To our surprise, they actually did it! Super impressed! The hotel is very close to Guanyin Bridge, and the metro station is also conveniently located. The street food BBQ across the street tasted better than the folk bar we went to later that night. There's also a Fenghua Hotpot behind the hotel that Wang Hedi visited, which is absolutely delicious and super popular – if you go too late, you'll have to queue.FromDKK 333

This hotel boasts excellent, brand-new facilities, including a restaurant, bar, and rooftop garden. The decor is elegant and unique, creating a delightful, clean, and pleasant environment. All staff members are incredibly polite and welcoming, providing attentive service and guidance that made us feel right at home. Upon check-in, we received a complimentary room upgrade, free breakfast, and a two-hour late check-out. The breakfast spread was diverse, exquisite, and catered to all tastes, truly demonstrating their thoughtful service. Although the hotel is located within an older commercial building, the hotel floors themselves are spotless and modern. Access requires a key card, ensuring good security. While there were many children on our floor, with laughter audible in the hallway, the soundproofing in the room was excellent, providing a quiet environment for rest. Being on a higher floor, the views were fantastic, offering panoramic sights of the surrounding commercial area. The location is also incredibly convenient, very close to Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street and the subway station, and only a twenty-minute drive to Chongqing North Railway Station. Despite the reasonable price, every aspect of our stay was thoroughly satisfying. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Liangjiang New Area!FromDKK 164

The hotel was actually amazing. The view from the room was exactly as I saw in the photos while booking. The amenities were good too. Small things can be changed such as adding spoons or stirrers for the morning tea/coffee. Only 1 issue was there, which was the noise isolation. While, the hotel is in one of the best locations for Chongqing, since it stands next to a road, you can hear the horn noises. It’s not a big issue as it is not that loud and it’s not constant horns, but still the hotel can maybe think about this during future renovations. It was genuinely a very lovely stay, the staff were very kind as well. Would recommend anyone to stay at HRV hotel. Also, the view deck on floor 15 with the lobby is really amazing, you don’t really need to go to any other viewpoint.FromDKK 193

Definitely not recommended on WARM DAYS because the hotel will turn off AC completely. I stayed at this hotel from 5/8 to 5/11, In-room HVAC only worked on daytime when outdoor temperature reached about 30 degrees, in room temperature was cooling down and comfortable enough. However, the hotel shut down AC system at night because outdoor temperature is not hot enough, that leading to in room temperature went back to 27 degrees, I got totally sleepless. Understood the hotel tried to save money on electricity, but AC system is the one of basic amenity systems and should not shut down the mostly of the days.
Moldy grout, moldy caulking are all around the shower, the picture attached. Non adjustable shower head with fixed holder need upgraded. That shows lack of the maintenance for rooms.
Room attendant provided great service she could and made me feel comfortable and welcome.
