The location of the hotel is excellent, right by the pier, 10-15 minute walk from the train station, close to restaurants and cafes. The hotel itself has seen better days and needs to be renovated. The lifts are tiny, which may be an issue for those with accessibility issues (there may be a larger lift I wasn’t aware of) and the room was very basic and not great. The bathroom needed fixtures repaired, for example the toilet seat hinges were not secure and slammed painfully loudly because of the bathroom acoustics and the poorly secured shower door screeched when moved, which was not good. The staff are pleasant but everything needs an update and maintenance.

The room is big, and the bathroom is also big. It is located by the sea, just a little way down the road in front of the door, and the sea is very beautiful. The hotel is said to have a history of 120 years, and the facilities are well maintained. The elevator is very distinctive, and I waited for 10 minutes to go downstairs when I checked out in the morning. It is recommended to go early if you are in a hurry.

We stayed in room 121 , spacious, no view but it was only a base , biggest issue noise above someone walking around early for hours, squeaky floor boards , hotel quiet, otherwise .. We parked ok, can be awkward depends on time but we parked out on front both times, we moved car . Parking £2 , covered until 11am in morning , purchase another ticket so you can stay for day your leaving . We purchased breakfast £7.50 each , basic buy adequate with toast , hot drinks , fruit , croissants and muffins . Staff all very helpful and pleasant , budget hotel but adequate

A century-old store means that the facilities are a bit old, especially the floors, but the location of the hotel is very good, opposite the coast, less than 5 minutes' walk from the famous seaside hotel, and 10 minutes' walk from Eastbourne Secondary School. Easy to find and good location however after a hectic day the greeting from the receptionist was less than welcoming. He was on the phone to someone and continued with his conversation without acknowledgement or comment. Asked for my ID to which I replied I didn't know I need to provide one especially as paid directly with travel agent and is not necessary. He told me no I'd you not stay I will cancel booking. I said all I'm saying is it would be nice to know beforehand and should be in the confirmation email. It got heated. Finally got my keys. No lift and on top floor. No offer of assistance. Room adequate and comfortable for price paid. Receptionist came and apologised which was appreciated. All. In all a comfortable stay but unlikely to return

Amazing location right by the beach so some rooms would be overlooking the promenade and coast. The rooms are tired and decoration needs to be updated although the reception areas look good. The beds and pillows were VERY comfy! Better than some travelodge, so a good night sleep. So if you can look past the poor paint, the £37 a night twin room will be a bargain. I would return at this price, but not more expensive. Its not the usual high quality or standard that I expected from Best Western chain. More a budget option. £7 is for a continental breakfast so this was declined. Tea and coffee in room was good. Late arrival but checking in was swift and very helpful. Free but limited overnight parking outside but you have to get a ticket (the hotel can do this for you for £2.25) from 8am so if you want a lie in, you need to book and pay when you check in.
