We stayed at this property for a few nights on a trip up the coast of Portugal. I believe we were assigned the apartment and not the hotel. I am devastated with how disgusting the room was. We had bedbugs and were attacked by them in the bed. When I mentioned the issue to the reception desk they told me they were ants. These were definitely not ants and we woke up with bites all over our bodies. The rooms were dirty you could see many places that hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. I doubt they even change the bed linens very often. If I were you I would definitely not book this property! Beware!!! I am attaching photos of some of the areas of of our bodies with the bed bug bites that could be posted(some of the bites from the bed bugs were on private parts that cannot be shared.

Quinta Pedra dos Bicos Fabulous hotel! 30 man in a stag-do visited this hotel weekend 30th of march and despite reading the reviews we were very happy with our stay We were welcomed by professional friendly Reception staff who were efficient, and caring! We were allowed to check in early with our luggage and as we had not much sleep this was very welcome! The room was spacious clean and bright and everything we needed was available. There were fresh towels every day and the beds were made up every day! Impressed. Reviews that’s all I can say about them is if you’re staying with a large group of men or women just respect their wishes They probably don’t want the stress either Dave from Wales

Booked superior apartment, asked for ground floor due to disability. Told it would have sea view , pool and access to beach. Told only had first floor apartment due to ants. First night my friend slipped on wet floor when accessing stairs. Our view was in to apartments opposite. A member of staff offered us another apartment, a budget one. As there was a lift we decided to take it. Portugal had been hit by a number of storms and the pool had a lot of debris in it. We arrived on 9th had to wait until 12 th March for this to be cleaned. Staff told us it was cleaned every day at 9 am this was not true. I sent photos showing debris until it was finally cleaned. Sadly a tree came down in another storm so that was end of swimming. Access to beach was a no no as access would not be finished until end of April. Luckily taxis were cheap enough to take us to local beaches. Discovered loads of problems in apartment. Cupboard door hanging by a thread, broken inner fridge door storage, lamp with faulty wiring, microwave with plug that didn't reach socket , toilet seat needed replacing, broken sink plug, badly warped table top , warped laminate or ripped laminate on cupboards, hob missing a knob ( showing wire inside), overhead filter was broken couldnt open cupboard, replacement lamps marks on shades. After a meeting with two members of staff items were either replaced or fixed. However, cupboard door just missed my head when it came away a day later. The maintenance guy said to me "this was fixed " implying I had broken it !! Refund was finally sent through on difference between superior and budget. These apartments are in a really lovely setting but were a total let down. We wasted a number of hours waiting for works to be done . Housekeeping checks really need to be put in place before renting these out. Sadly we will not be returning.

Would not recommend this holiday unless you’re a family. We went for 4 nights, 3 friends and we were charged €250 each deposit. Still chasing to get this back. The staff aren’t overly friendly. The room was crawling with ants for the whole stay, all over the walls and bed. We contacted staff and they sprayed the whole apartment with bug spray twice. Definitely isn’t good for us… Location is good, there’s a stunning beach and restaurant down steps about 5 mins from the hotel, the nicest part.

Like many I read the mixed reviews and was worried about what to expect but myself and my family had an amazing week. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment in block 14. The apartment was very clean throughout was one of there newer ones (from photos I've seen on here). Our toaster didn't work but replaced quickly when we spoke to the reception staff we found watsapp could be hours for replying so easier to discuss issues. We found all the staff we encountered from the reception to the pool/cleaners were all very friendly . The only downside is the pool size for such a large complex. Especially lunchtime onwards when all the groups of stags and hens wake up and take over the pool. A bigger pool area would definitely benefit the complex maybe even seperate one for groups (block 18 pool can be used too) as others have said Sunbeds are very limited there is the grass area which has the space for more, lying on the grass is an option but be prepared to be covered in lots of ants. The area itself is ok getting ubers is the best and cheapest ways of getting around we were a family of 6 so had the large xl cars was around 10 euro average from hotel to The old town (best beach) the beach close to hotel is nice but the steps aren't the best and breaking in places. Just round the corner there is happy house chinese they do a buffet which is fab and only 15 euros each all can.eat (also loads of sushi too included). There is an excursion place here we booked a dolphin/cave excursion on dreamers boat at the marina was 270 euros for all six it's a 2.5 hr excursion but totally worth it was highlight of our trip seeing in excess of 30 dolphins alongside us and the bengali caves. Another must if love water parks is the aquashow park. We booked tickets ourselves online the night before was 29 euros each (website can be changed to english) and uber cost us around 30 euros each way. The old town is good for shopping and the new town (*****) has some good shops too. Neto was one of the nicest and most reasonably prices for meals we had out less than 100 euros for all of us with drinks. The little supermarket shop next to it has some of the most friendliest people we met. Overall a lovely place to visit and would recommend this apartment. Sorry for all the prices etc but thought give a rough idea of prices too. Oh and we paid 30 euro when checked in and got cash back as soon as checked out.

Just returned and have to say , reading some of the reviews before I went I was abit nervous as to what to expect . We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment block 12, basic but clean and spacious . Air con in bedrooms and WiFi in apartments . My first feel was it was abit like a Butlins , lots of buildings of apartments and although out outside area was right near the pool u couldn’t see or access the pool area that way u and to walk around. One negative is the pool area isn’t very big and no where near enough sun beds even though there is plenty of room for them , but people lay on the grass , had an inflatable bouncy castle at the bottom end of the pool area along with a little park . Just outside the complex there are a few bars and places to eat , eddys bar good English breakfast , sol caffe good English breakfast , Lairas plaice good fish chips peas and curry . The hangover bar is good for sports , loads of tvs and good to sit and relax at night with singers on every night . The beach area is lovely but the steps are a killer . Overall had a really good week and would return . We only had to pay €30 euro deposit , we paid in cash and got this back at checkout .

Firstly, the rooms do not look like the trip-advisor photos, they are extremely outdated. I informed reception that we had two mouldy lamps/lampshades either side of our beds and asked for them to be removed, I asked twice and they still remained in our room for the full stay. On check in we had to put a £250 deposit down, this wasn’t declared to us before booking the hotel. I understand it’s the only hotel in the area that accepts big groups, however that doesn’t justify such a large deposit each (maybe this would be acceptable per room). They would pick and choose which groups would pay the deposit too. I don’t think any furniture in our room was even worth £250. On check in we heard reception tell another group that they had to pay a fine on check out due to throwing a frisbee in the pool. It sounded like the hotel would just scam people out of money on check out. We ensured our rooms were spotless on check out, yet one of our party had to pay for a ‘dirty towel’ which had a tiny bit of lip stick on. At a 3* hotel you do not expect to pay a fine for a towel, as the mark would come out in the wash anyway! The towel itself was so thin and not worth the amount that came out of the deposit. Around the pool area, adults are treated like children. A man sat on the sea saw and was told he would get a fine. Nobody was behaving badly around the pool yet we saw multiple people get in to trouble. Its a shame the hotel/reception/pool man treat the guests like this, as otherwise we would have enjoyed our experience. The one positive about the hotel is the location, it is close to the new town ***** and beach, and only a short taxi to the old town.

This aparthotel is nice enough especially for how little we paid. As young girls we felt safe even though it was detached from the actual hotel it was a safe area. The apartment itself was clean and spacious with plenty fridge freezer room etc. we chose a 2 bedroom apartment with balcony and it was plenty space for 4 people. However, since we arrived we had issues with our aircon meaning it didn’t work & it was dripping water the entire time. We complained 4 times and it was only resolved the night we were leaving which was no use. The pool area is quite run down too, there is little to no sun loungers meaning everyone was lying on the grass and mud and the water had no heat whatsoever. The pool bar however was lovely & great for lunch time. The surrounding area to the apartment is great as there is a shop 2 mins away and within good walking distance of restaurants etc. I wouldn’t say the beds were awfully comfortable but they were ok. This is an ok place to stay if you don’t want to spend a lot but it’s not at all luxury and the staff are not very helpful. I wouldn’t chose to stay here again but it’s fine if you aren’t planning on staying in doors a lot.
