GGuest UserThis was the best hotel of our entire trip! I wasn't happy with the room type, but even though there was a charge, the front desk helped us switch rooms. I especially want to mention the photography session – the photographer was fantastic and took amazing pictures. Highly recommend!
PperochamIt was a shame the water slide was undergoing long-term maintenance, but other than that, I have no complaints. The sunset view from the 8th-floor terrace is magnificent. The bread from the hotel's bakery is also delicious. I think this is now my preferred hotel in Yogyakarta. As for the location, while it's far from the city center, it's close to Borobudur and Jomblang Cave, and you avoid traffic jams, which turned out to be a good thing. Yogyakarta isn't a very big city, so there's not much benefit to staying in the center just to walk around. However, even though you can easily catch a Grab from the hotel to the city, it takes about 30 minutes one way, making it difficult to return to the hotel for a quick break. Despite this, the facilities and hospitality more than make up for it.
MMrSenGreat hotel, good view from the room at the city. But even better (actually amazing) 360° view from the rooftop, including of course towards Merapi.
The room is good, there is a nice pool on the rooftop, as well as a good bar. No pool towels, though.
The gym is very small and has a funny triangular shape, was a bit overcrowded with only 6 people at the same time.
Only downside was the breakfast, fresh omelette was good, but some of the sweet bakery goods among the most tasteless things I've ever had.
That said, still a great hotel with a nice art focused lobby and friendly staff. Would recommend.
GGuest UserGenerally, the reception staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. However, the pillows, pillow covers and bedsheets are rather old and yellow. I need to request a change of pillow cases and bedsheets daily. Looked worn-out too and a little smelly. Only 2 out of 6 nights, we had clean and non smelly pillow cases. All these reported to them.
On the 3rd May, after our breakfast, we went back to our room and to my astonishment, my room was ajar even with the ”DO NOT DISTURB” sign on!!!! Luckily everything was intact and I have informed the reception too.
AAfid 74Friendly staff and everything was well-equipped. If the restaurant food wasn't to our liking, we could still order online. All in all, a pleasant experience with Abhayagiri Resort, good job!
DDyan_WThis is my favorite hotel whenever I visit my kids studying and living in Jogja. Even though it's an older hotel, it's very well-maintained. The gym equipment is complete, breakfast is extensive and delicious, and the rooms are comfortable. Highly recommended to stay here!
PparisintripGreat location near the mall
Really enjoyed the convenience of being so close to J-Walk. The hotel has a bit of a vintage feel but is well-maintained and clean. The staff were friendly and check-in was smooth. A good, reliable choice for a stay in Jogja! Good for business trip!
GGuest UserHere’s
The property is quite old and is no longer under Sheraton management, which is noticeable throughout the hotel. The toilets and ceilings feel outdated and in need of renovation, and the same applies to the air conditioning system, which doesn’t perform up to expectations.
That said, the staff are very cooperative, friendly, and always willing to help, which is definitely a positive aspect of the stay.
