"LOOKING FOR CONVENIENT AND MEMORABLE STAY IN YOGYAKARTA ? Definitely, stay in Marriott Yogyakarta. ✅️ Outstanding Service ✅️ Easy-to-access Location ✅️ Next to Mall (Pakuwon) ✅️ Big Rooms My family & I usually stay in T*ntr*m (been our no 1. option in Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Tangerang for a while), but considering NY traffic, decided hotel next to mall as safer option, and I think Marriott Yogya will be our no 1. option in Yogyakarta now. PRE-STAY Staying experience actually starts the second we finished the hotel reservation, maybe its long before we even arrive at the hotel. Most dont really optimize this. What I will highlight is Marriott really put my requests (birthday decor in specific room, connecting rooms) into the system, where everyone can check. From the one handling the WhatsApp to the receptionist the day we arrive, Ilham. And they execute my request really well. I've experienced some that forget my request and ended up decorating the wrong room, or not facilitating the request, even though they said they will facilitate. *see pic 8 - 11. It doesnt have to be expensive, businesses have to calculate the cost and margin. Whats important, for me, is put some effort into it. Its part of making the stay memorable. STAY I love it when : - the moment we arrive, the staff helps us by opening the car door, w/ the smile and greeting. Not from just one person, but every staff did the smile and greeting. - Ilham texted that the other room is ready. Most just rely on guest will be the one to follow up, but not Marriott. - we asked the way to mall entrance, the staff took us to the entrance, not just directing w/ hands. - they put anti-slip mat in shower area (pic 6), such a functional addition for safety. Because aesthetic needs to meet w/ function. - we went out at 8.30 in the morning for culinary & coffee around Yogyakarta and put the cleaning sign on, but forget to call, just to communicate that we want the room cleaned while we're out. 2,5 hours later when we're back, those 2 rooms are neat & tidy. Some hotels dont notice the difference those make for guest(s). These, for me, really help building the memorable staying exp. What more could I ask, Marriott Yogya 🫰🏻❤️ thank you"

"It was a shame the water slide was undergoing long-term maintenance, but other than that, I have no complaints. The sunset view from the 8th-floor terrace is magnificent. The bread from the hotel's bakery is also delicious. I think this is now my preferred hotel in Yogyakarta. As for the location, while it's far from the city center, it's close to Borobudur and Jomblang Cave, and you avoid traffic jams, which turned out to be a good thing. Yogyakarta isn't a very big city, so there's not much benefit to staying in the center just to walk around. However, even though you can easily catch a Grab from the hotel to the city, it takes about 30 minutes one way, making it difficult to return to the hotel for a quick break. Despite this, the facilities and hospitality more than make up for it."

"What a beautiful hotel! I enjoyed my stay and the large room with the amazing view of the Merapi volcano. I had a couple meals at the restaurant that were very good and a delicious breakfast box to-go one morning. The staff was excellent. Everyone at the reception desk was always helpful and warm. Chiara gave me superior concierge service with sightseeing help. I’m happy to recommend this hotel. Yet it’s necessary to realize that the hotel is an hour drive from the downtown and 1.5 hours from the international airport. It’s close for trips to Merapi and several temples, including Prambanan and Borobudur. But if you also want to visit sites in the downtown, you’ll be quite far away."

"This was the best hotel of our entire trip! I wasn't happy with the room type, but even though there was a charge, the front desk helped us switch rooms. I especially want to mention the photography session – the photographer was fantastic and took amazing pictures. Highly recommend!"

"Hotel are great for theme-park only, very creative and attractive. For the service and room experiences, is not proper as 5-star hotel. It should downgrade to 3-star hotel with the room facilities, design, and services as general. Do not stay here on weekend or holiday period, quite expensive and not value for money"

"The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but we took taxis everywhere anyway, so it wasn't a big issue. The facilities are great; the entire building belongs to the hotel. It's decorated in a French style, and the rooms are quite unique and definitely live up to its four-star rating."

"There are a lot of mosquitoes, so I wish there was mosquito repellent in each room. The light in the bathroom was broken and wouldn't turn on (it was fixed, though), so I think it should be checked beforehand. The food was varied and delicious, and the restaurant was clean and excellent. The staff were also very helpful."

"Here’s The property is quite old and is no longer under Sheraton management, which is noticeable throughout the hotel. The toilets and ceilings feel outdated and in need of renovation, and the same applies to the air conditioning system, which doesn’t perform up to expectations. That said, the staff are very cooperative, friendly, and always willing to help, which is definitely a positive aspect of the stay."
