Location : beachfront. A bit far From main road. In narrow road. Minim to no public street lights when dark. CLean property. It was raining since we arrived. Upstairs Terrace was wet. No telphone in side the room so needed to go to the restaurant when ordering. (Luckily the staff gave us his WA number, although sollow response.) Alot of interns learning at this hotel, but they were all nice and polite. Room was nice and clean. We stayed at deluxe double sea view. Nothing special. I think rooms on the grounds would be more convinient giving it was raining all day. Price was a bit to high for this area and standard. Hotel ground was nicely done. Lots of plants. Ordered food for dinner and late lunch. Taste was not bad. Chef did ok. Price, again, overrated. More like Canggu's price but remember this is more of the not so touristy side of Bali. Breakfast was standard. Smoothie bowl and omellete could have been better.

I stayed in this hotel for one night only during my roundtrip in Bali. Upon arrival I was upgraded into an ocean view room, however you could not really see it from my room. I did walk to the beach, which was not very nice, dirty on one side and rocky with the tide far out on the other side. As I arrived late afternoon, I did not check out the pool area. My room was large, the bed comfortable and it had a big mosquito net. All 3 windows were overlooked, so you had to put the blinds down, which did not cover everything but made the room dark. What was not for me was the, albeit very nice, outdoor bathroom. I am ok with an outside shower but not an outdoor toilet and sink area. Especially when it borders directly onto the outside bathroom of the adjoining room. You can hear everything which is uncomfortable. I also have a fear of spiders and the thought of going to the toilet in the middle of the night outside in the pitch black was very scary. Also, if you get ready outside in the dusk or dawn and turn on the light, you get eaten alive by mosquitos. So I tried to spend as little time in the outdoor bathroom as possible and moved all my toiletries inside. I also ad a lot of ants in the room and the floor was rather dirty. I had dinner at the restaurant, which was very tasty and the service was quick and friendly. Breakfast was a la carte and good, but nothing special. Service was really nice.

We have been staying at Medewi Bay Retreat regularly for many years. We love the ”village” feel of the place. It reminds us of Bali 35 years ago when we began visiting this island paradise. It is not perfect, but it is very welcoming and all the staff are super friendly. It is a place to truly relax, enjoy the lovely gardens, chat with other guests, take a stroll to the nearby black sands beach or hire a bike and explore the local village....so many options are available. During our recent stay the staff from the Palms restaurant went out of their way to cater for my dietary requirements sometimes going into the local village to buy supplies they had run out of in order to prepare my meal. I was very appreciative of this extra effort. The wonderful staff and the tranquillity make this hotel special and unique. We will continue to relax here every time we come to Bali.

The staff is friendly, the service is also very good, the response is quick, and the welcome is warm. The location is near the beach, unfortunately there are a lot of rocks, but it's fun to see surfers dancing on the waves. Close to the highway and easy to reach...but there are few shops for shopping. The room is very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and well equipped. The hotel facilities are quite relaxing/relaxing.
