This is the first time I have stayed at a Spark by Hilton. Would certainly never stay at the Bluffton one again and would have to think long and hard about staying at any Spark hotel in the future. The only positive I can mention is that our room was clean upon arrival albeit an overpowering smell of ammonia. As the ammonia smell wore off it was replaced with a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Some sort of plumbing issue or water treatment needed. The stench filled the entire room. We tried keeping the bathroom door closed but it wouldn't latch and stay closed. The water from the sink was undrinkable because of the odor. We wouldn't even brush our teeth with it. We did utilize the bottle filler on the first floor for water even though the filter light was red, but at least it didn't stink. The shower door wouldn't stay closed so we flooded the bathroom floor with the first shower. After that we would lodge a washcloth in the door to keep it closed. As noted on the bathroom mirror, we were to receive housekeeping services every other day of our stay. We were there for three nights and did not receive housekeeping. This was not important or an issue for us but mentioning in case others expect it. Shampoo dispenser was empty we came to find during first shower. Front desk provided a new one...which required a ten minute wait for someone to show up at the desk. The front desk was ALWAYS unattended. Whether we were coming or going or needed to speak with someone. Tried to pay for a soda from the market at one point. Waited five minutes only to realize the man outside smoking was the desk attendant. He either never looked inside to see me (in clear view of where he was smoking) or saw me and couldn't care less. Ice machine on third floor empty. Breakfast FYI... no hot breakfat. Hard boiled eggs, bagels, yogurt, muffins, 2 cereal choices, oatmeal packets, clementines. Beds are super soft. If you like a soft bed, you'll be in heaven. If you need any level of support you will be disappointed. My back was destroyed. By the third night I opted for sleeping sitting up. This was my worst hotel experience. I'm not much of a review writer although I always read reviews prior to booking. Booked this one in a hurry and didn't read the reviews. I should have and won't make that mistake again.

Andy at the front desk was amazing at checkin. Was very accommodating m. Showed us great places to eat and even helped us find some discounts at the tanger outlets. Will definitely be staying here again and I highly recommend to stay here. Thank you!!!

This place is a mess. No one is at reception, the elevators don’t work, we have no toilet paper holder. They gave us a room have built and I could literally steal all the snacks because no one is at the desk. I cannot believe this is where I’m staying and I’ll report this to corporate for a refund. Garbage.

I’ve stayed in pretty bad hotels, but this has been the worst experience. The whole hotel was under construction, the elevators stopped working so we had to walk through construction zones to get to the stairs, the workers bring their kids and it sounds like a playground in the hallways, the housekeepers are up at the rooms at 9 am slamming doors and it lasts the whole day- work was still being done at 8 pm, the fitness center ****** can only fit 1 person working out- treadmill broken, the breakfast was the worst I have ever had at a hotel, there is never someone at the front desk- have to say hello 10 times until someone finally hears and comes to the desk- a few times I had to walk into the construction zone and found the front desk lady in the back with her kid- being honest she looked like she was drunk or on ***** or something- HORRIBLE SERVICE, and to top it all off the WiFi would connect and disconnect every time you went on your phone. The whole point of a hotel is so you can sleep, and with the housekeepers slamming doors and boxes, and their kids running the hallways it makes it impossible. Maintenance needed to get into my room while I was inside so they can drill in towel racks in the bathroom, and they decided to change sheets and pillows in all of the rooms on the floor, could not even get into my room because the whole hallway was filled with boxes and trash. Unless they make this right I will never stay at another one of these hotels. Should have blocked off floors they wanted to do work on, or shut down completely for the construction. The workers don’t care and just wanted to rush to go home. Not one good thing I can say, totally disappointed and every guest I came across felt the same way- everybody took pictures of the mess

Hotel is bring renovated and looks great!!Edwin, at the front desk,was so helpful! Clean rooms, great showers! Breakfast was great! Great location. I had to extend my stay and the hotel guest services was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this location

I’m an avid traveler and was worried about staying here after reading some reviews. The hotel is located in a nice area of Bluffton and walking distance to numerous restaurants, stores, etc. Yes, they are going through renovations, but that’s just part of life. I thought the room was nice, clean etc. the bed was wicked comfortable; slept very well! And I took a nice long hot shower! I tried watching a football game on my iPad; Wi-Fi not so great. Free breakfast buffet is adequate. They continued to run out of coffee

$300 for two nights. No hot water, no help from front desk. Construction on room above me ALL DAY LONG. No discount on room. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I don’t recommend any ever stay here. I would sleep in my truck before staying here.

The worst hotel experience we have ever had! We were attending a friends wedding and there was 10 of us in 8 rooms for 2 nights. No hot water the whole time and no one at the fest was helpful about it.They were obviously trying to renovate while people were staying there because there was stuff piled in the hallways when we checked out. Even if they do renovate I would never return to such a poorly maintained and managed property.

The hot water did not work for our entire 4 day stay. The story varied day to day from it's fixed, to working on it but didn't finish today. We heard them tell some people checking in 2 hours. it doesn't seem like they intend to provide it in spite of the large water heater box, empty, spotted in various areas in the hallway. Room cleaning is by request but the front desk doesn't actually tell the housekeeping staff to do it. The pool is lime green. The guest laundry is full of large boxes rather than laundry machines.

I was a frequent guest for two months on business, and had to change hotels. The General Manager was non existent, breakfast was horrible, and then I received fraudulent charges on my credit card from the hotel several times. Again, the GM is non existent, he does not return phone calls, or emails, and was never at the hotel physically, so I was left having to file fraud cases against the hotel. It takes a lot of time, and aggravation to get resolved and the hotel doesn’t care, because to this point there’s been no repercussion. I don’t want to see anybody else have to be a victim.

I had to wait while everyone was checked in .Worst hotel in Bluffton with a whirlpool. Buttons missing. Looks like a board was on it with spider webs. Manual check in-I think because room shouldn’t be rented out! No hot water!!! It’s Room #131
