From the very beginning to the moment we checked out, everything felt thoughtful, well-organized, and genuinely welcoming. What really sets this place apart is not just the beautiful property, but the level of care and service provided throughout the entire stay.
Even before our arrival, the host proactively contacted us via WeChat to confirm details and assist with planning. Communication was extremely smooth and responsive — no matter what time of day we had questions, we always received quick and helpful replies. For a destination like Jiuhua Mountain, where logistics and routes can feel overwhelming for first-time visitors, this kind of support makes a huge difference and immediately puts you at ease.
The room itself exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with a layout that worked perfectly for a family stay. Unlike many homestays that feel cramped, this room had plenty of space to relax, unpack, and truly rest. The bedding was clean and soft, and the overall atmosphere was calm and quiet, allowing us to sleep extremely well. Housekeeping standards were excellent — everything felt carefully maintained and spotlessly clean.
One of the highlights of our stay was the afternoon tea, which was freely available and not limited or rushed. This wasn’t just a symbolic offering; it was something you could genuinely enjoy at your own pace. Sitting down in such a peaceful environment with tea and snacks after a day of sightseeing was incredibly relaxing. It added a sense of warmth and hospitality that you don’t often find, especially in scenic-area accommodations.
Throughout our stay, the host remained available and attentive without ever being intrusive. Whether we needed advice on sightseeing routes, dining recommendations, or small practical help, everything was handled patiently and efficiently. You truly feel that the host cares about your experience, not just about running a business. Traveling with family can sometimes be stressful, but staying here made everything feel effortless.

Situated near Huacheng Temple, the homestay is in a quiet area that feels removed from crowds, yet it’s still very convenient for visiting key temples and attractions. Evenings were peaceful and silent, which is exactly what you want after a full day at Jiuhua Mountain. The surrounding atmosphere perfectly matches the calm and reflective nature of the destination.
What impressed us most was the overall sense of being well taken care of. This is not a place where service is performative or scripted — it feels sincere and consistent. From the communication, to the comfort of the room, to the little details like afternoon tea and thoughtful guidance, everything worked together to create a genuinely memorable stay.

I have stayed in many guesthouses across China, but this one stands out in a very special way. From the very first moment, the communication via WeChat was friendly, quick, and reliable – even though my Chinese is limited and the staff’s English is not extensive. Still, everything worked beautifully. Warm, patient, uncomplicated. It already gives you the feeling that you are in good hands.
I stayed for two days, and throughout my entire time there, everything was perfectly organized. I was picked up right on time upon arrival – an invaluable service in a mountain area that can be a little confusing for newcomers. The guesthouse itself is extremely comfortable: warm, well-designed rooms with excellent facilities, a huge screen, electric curtains, cozy bedding, and all the small details that make travel easier. I immediately felt welcomed and well taken care of.
During my stay, the staff assisted me with everything I needed, always with kindness and without any complications. When it was time to leave, they also arranged transport back to my bus at exactly the time I requested. Truly flawless service.
But the most extraordinary highlight was something I did not expect at all: the free guided tour that the homestay organizes for all their guests. They drove us to the starting point, and then we spent the day walking through the misty mountain paths, visiting nine of the most important temples on Jiuhuashan. It was magical – quiet, mysterious, deeply atmospheric. Our guide took wonderful care of everyone, explained so much about the temples, the mountain, the history, and the spirit of Dizang Bodhisattva, and created a sense of depth that went far beyond sightseeing.
This was not a tourist activity.
It was a spiritual and cultural experience – something you can only receive from people who truly love their mountain and want to share it with others. In the fog, among ancient stones, incense smoke, and the sound of footsteps on wet leaves, one begins to understand why Jiuhuashan has been a sacred place for centuries.
My conclusion:
This homestay offers not only comfort, warmth, and excellent service, but also a genuine connection to the spiritual heart of Jiuhuashan. I can recommend Tanxiangyuan Homestay without any hesitation. For pilgrims, travelers, lovers of nature, or anyone seeking a meaningful experience, this place is simply perfect. I am grateful for every moment I spent there.

We were among the first to go up the mountain, so there was no crowding at all. I had originally planned my own itinerary to explore from top to bottom. On the day we checked in, the host was very thoughtful and recommended a great sightseeing route that perfectly leveraged the hotel's location. The Huangjing tea at the hotel was delicious, so I bought a can to take home.

They warmly opened the floor heating in the room in advance. The room was warm and comfortable. The quilt was dry and tidy and smelled very clean. Because I took the elderly, I lived for two days, most of the time I ate in the store. The kitchen was very clean and tasted good. It was no different from the outside restaurant. I also warmly helped us leave the chicken soup that was not finished to the evening. I used to come to Jiuhuashan every year, this time I lived the most comfortable time. The B&B is located at the foot of the mountain, with a quiet environment and fresh and pleasant air. The rooms are warmly and elegantly decorated and fully equipped to make you feel comfortable. The most impressive thing is the owner of the B&B. He is not only warm and hospitable, but also provides us with many useful travel suggestions, making us feel the warmth of home. Here, we not only enjoy the tranquility and beauty of nature, but also feel the sincerity and friendliness between people. The room was very well cleaned without any unpleasant odors, which was excellent! The window in my room was a bit small, which had its advantages, as it prevented outside moisture and fog from getting in, which is important since the bedding can easily become damp when staying in a mountain setting. The receptionist was very helpful and even planned my travel route! 👍 On check-out day, the hotel provided a shuttle to take our luggage down to the foot of the mountain, saving us the trouble of making the trip. 👍 Overall, I was very satisfied.

We arrived by high-speed train, and the hotel arranged a pick-up for us directly from the scenic area's entrance. On our departure day, we could leave our luggage at the front desk. It is said to be a ten-year-old hotel, but it does not look old. The overall hygiene is still very good. The breakfast is also good. There is no other problem except that there are too many people. There are also vending machines and ice cream in the lobby. If you are greedy and don’t want to go out, you can buy some snacks here.
Here I would like to especially thank the young man in the housekeeping department and the master in the engineering department on May 2. On that day, there was a problem with the password lock of my suitcase. I originally wanted the master in the engineering department to help me pry the lock open, and I could buy a new suitcase. The two of them helped me fix it after a long time. I am grateful.
