HHome in a backpackOur stay at Marmaris Saray was more than we expected. We were greeted by a fine gentleman who spoke excellent English. Even though our booking was last minute it was a great decision. The location was perfect- walkable to the centre but also only 10ish minutes from the nearest metro station. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and shops to buy everything you need. The free breakfast was abundant with a lot of sweet and savoury options. Also there is an espresso machine and loose green tea to use. The room was clean and had all of the needed necessities.

GGuest UserIf the hotel cost $80-90, I wouldn't have any complaints, but we paid $250 a night and had certain expectations. 1. I asked for a second blanket – they brought a blanket and a duvet cover separately. I thought, 'Okay, I'll put it on myself.' As I started, I realized the duvet cover was wet 🤦♂️. 2. It rained heavily overnight, and the roof at Swissotel started leaking onto the drywall 🤦♂️. Thankfully, there wasn't a puddle, but the sound of water dripping from the roof onto the drywall was constant 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. 3. In the morning, we asked to change rooms. We returned at 5 PM, and the staff went to check which rooms were available 🤷♂️. We went to our old room, and it hadn't been cleaned. 4. We returned to the new room in the evening, realizing not all our belongings had been moved, and it took a long time to find what we needed. They didn't even transfer the food from the fridge. The only positive was the polite staff. The hotel itself is very simple.

GGuest UserOverall, it was pretty good. Since it's newly renovated, there was still a slight smell in the evenings when we came back. The breakfast was excellent, but the rooms aren't cleaned daily; you have to request cleaning for it to happen. For daily water, you need to ask the front desk to get it replenished. The transportation is quite convenient too, with a subway station not far from the exit. All in all, it's worth recommending.

HHossein Ali BagheriMy experience at this hotel was not satisfactory at all. The room I had booked in advance was not available upon arrival, and for the first night we were given a small and unsuitable room, which was very disappointing. During our one-week stay, the breakfast never changed and was very simple and limited. There were not even basic options like tea bags; instead, we had to brew loose tea directly in a glass, which is not acceptable for a hotel of this level. Most importantly, and quite frustrating, smoking was allowed in all areas of the hotel without any restrictions. This caused significant discomfort for me and my family. There should definitely be designated smoking areas so that other guests are not disturbed. Overall, this hotel seriously needs improvement in management, service quality, and basic hospitality standards.

HHumanity ProjectGreat value stay with excellent breakfast in Tashkent We stayed at Viva Hotel in Tashkent and found it to be a comfortable and good value option. The location is convenient. It is about a 12 minute walk to Kosmonavtlar Metro Station, and there are plenty of markets and places to eat within walking distance. It is easy to get around the city from here. The room was very big and spacious. The beds were soft and very comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was decent, with a western-style toilet and enough space for a comfortable shower. There is no TV in the room, and there are limited convenient plugs for charging devices. However, you can use one of the wall outlets that is normally used for the water boiler. The hotel provides tea and cups, which is a nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only one of the three staff members spoke English, so you may need to use a translation app to communicate at times. Despite the language barrier, the staff were still accommodating and tried their best to assist. Breakfast was excellent, with many options available. It starts early at 7:00 a.m., which is very convenient if you have an early morning train. If your train departs at 8:00 a.m. or later, you can still enjoy a quick breakfast before heading to the station. There are elevators to access the rooms. Soundproofing is acceptable, not perfect, but not problematic either. Overall, this hotel offers very good value for the price. The location is good, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are helpful. I would consider staying here again on a future visit to Tashkent.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were excellent, always ready to answer any questions. The location is great, not far from the subway, bus stops, and the train station, and you can even get there by bus from the airport. The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities, plus there's a pool and a smoking area. The price was fair, and the self-service breakfast was free, on time, and offered a good variety. I stayed for three days, and the breakfast menu changed a bit each day, definitely worth the price! Plus, there's parking available.

DDeanSFinding the hotel was challenging. Took me circumvate the entire train station twice when I finally called them for direction. Imagine the station is huge & with my luggages & crossing the security twice, even the security were clueless. The front desk lady was sweet & nice to walk out & directed me. That was a huge help. I think they should place clear signages. Check-In process was a nightmare. They couldn’t confirmed my booking even though I have shown the confirmed voucher online. After much deliberation they accepted my booking. Next come the payment. None of my cards was accepted even though i have been using them throughout my 2 weeks travel in Uzbekistan. They would not allow me to check in until full payment was made. Since I only have USD, they insist that I change at the nearest bank. A nice consolation was that a young front desk staff willingly to walk me to the hotel. All these took me around 2 stressful hours walking in & out & around. The hostel is very new. Super huge room, again brand new. Super clean. But I don’t understand why not a single basic amenities was provided; body soap or shampoo. The front desk however promptly provided upon request the following day. I believe most who stayed usually 1-night. The location was almost perfect, if only the hotel guests don’t need to keep going through the security scanning every each time both going in & out. Imagine I’m staying 3 nights. My advice please ensure you have local SOM for payment in case your card is not accepted. The hotel is on the left end of the station (if you exit from the train looking towards the building station) it’s better that you call them once you feel lost as the assist you the direction. Just be mindful that you need to go through the security scan every each time you enter & exit. However, if someone planning a train connection to other cities, this is 100% spot on recommended. I would like to commend on the front staff lady, Dildora for her professionalism & calm demeanour. Thank you.

NNari. My stay at Retro Palace was a pleasant and memorable experience overall. The hotel offers a charming blend of classic design and modern comfort, making it a great choice for travelers who appreciate a unique atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and eager to assist with any requests, which immediately created a positive first impression. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated with a retro-inspired aesthetic that gave it a distinctive character. The bed was comfortable, and all essential amenities were provided, including reliable Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a well-maintained bathroom. I especially appreciated the attention to detail in the interior design, which added a cozy and stylish touch to the stay. The location of Retro Palace is another strong advantage. It is conveniently situated near key attractions, restaurants, and transportation options, making it easy to explore the surrounding area without much hassle. Whether traveling for leisure or business, the accessibility of the hotel is definitely a plus. In terms of facilities, the hotel provides everything needed for a comfortable stay. While it may not be a luxury property, it delivers excellent value for money. The common areas are well-kept, and the overall ambiance is relaxed and inviting. I also found the check-in and check-out process to be smooth and efficient. One minor area for improvement would be the breakfast selection, which could benefit from a bit more variety. However, this did not significantly impact my overall experience, as there are many nearby dining options to explore. Overall, I would highly recommend Retro Palace to travelers looking for a comfortable, stylish, and reasonably priced accommodation. The combination of friendly service, convenient location, and unique design makes it a solid choice for anyone visiting the area. I would gladly stay here again in the future.
