YHA Brisbane City Reviews

Clean, with relatively complete facilities and it's also quiet. There aren't many toilets and bathrooms, but they're sufficient. Transportation isn't super convenient; it's about a fifteen-minute walk from Roma Street Station. However, there are buses nearby that go to Central and South Brisbane. Plus, there's a Coles supermarket right next door, which is very convenient for groceries and shopping.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was ok but during our stay, no one came and clean up and we asked to change the towels only and the housekeeper seemed like she wasn't happy. When we checked in, the staff at the reception didn't give us any information on when to check out or information about the hostel because my application showed that I could check out until 5 pm, luckily I was asking. We don't ask for any special treatment but just the basic thing that we should've known. We've stayed at YHA Sydney Harbour and the staff were friendlier. Not that bad but not that good though.

Arrived in Brisbane and saw great reviews for this place, so I stayed for over a week. The location is easy to find, and taxis can pinpoint it accurately. The environment is clean and bright, the front desk staff are very welcoming, and there's a swimming pool upstairs. The shared kitchen is very convenient.

As a solo traveler, I found this hostel to be excellent. It felt very safe and was wonderfully quiet. The only minor downside was the uphill walk to get there, which was a bit challenging with luggage. In the evenings, the surrounding area was quite quiet, and food options were limited. Interestingly, there were many Korean guests during my stay. I shared a 4-bed dorm with one Malaysian and two Korean roommates.

Very friendly environment, clean and tidy. There's a large stadium in the distance, and many public facilities nearby, like a library. It's also very pleasant to go for a run along the river. The historical and cultural attractions are very close.

Everything good. The kitchen is fantastic, however no freezer; just fridge. Hostel has a pool and a rooftop bar!

Insects biting at night. During sleep in private Room No. 2. Even after paying premium price , got bitten by insects in bed. Informed reception to change sheets and clean room. No response till late night. Finally only sheets replaced. Room was NOT cleaned. Reported next day morning to reception. Then room was cleaned. I HAD TO USE SPRAY PURCHASED BY MYSELF. Very SAD. House keeping does NOT respond.at all.State of bed can be seen in photograph attached

Quite nice during my stays here .. definitely will come back again if I visit here again. Feelings comfortable and quite near to city , public transport nearby. Strategic location 👍🏼

Good location but no long stay, price increased from 370$ to 530$ the next week, not a friendly hostel but the rooms are more than correct

Comfortable hostel. Close to shops and the city center. The West End is also not far away. Some rooms may not have opening windows.

The YHA in Brisbane is my favorite in Brisbane. The rooms are clean and big enough (4share), in a convenient location close to the center - and it has a nice rooftop terrace with regular events such as Mario cart night (see pictures) Only downside for me was that there was a working holiday makers, charging a huge, loudly whirring e-bike battery in the room.

Really great! The common facilities are excellent, including a study room and a communal kitchen (complete with shared utensils). My roommates were also very friendly. It's perfect for long-term stays and a wonderful place to meet new people.

YHA is queer friendly and soooo clean! I love it! Next time, when I'll visit Australia, I'll go YHA again.
