This is by far the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We arrived late at night with young tired children and it was late. The true extent of the filth was reviewed in daylight. I’ve taken pictures as factual proof of the experience. The curtains were hanging off and I had to hook them all back up. The window had disgusting dirty hand prints and food smeared on it. The carpet was stained and the bathroom evidently had not been cleaned properly. The bath was disgusting! To the point we couldn’t use it. Breakfast was a whole other experience. Accommodating the later traveller by starting at 8, not considering those with families. I can see why this is the case as all good except the sausages are microwaved. The scrambled egg was inedible. The mushrooms and tomatoes raw were they hadn’t been cooked long enough. There are so many lessons to learn and this hotel needs a managerial visit to train the staff and review the cleanliness and overall standards. Very odd to not have fire escape by the lifts. If there’s a fire half way down a floor corridor you’re not getting out!

Layla and Harriet are absolutely magnificent staff on the night. They look after the customers impeccably. They support very well and they are gems. I would recommend for everyone to stop here as the staff are amazing and they went to the highest effort to help me get my phone and bank card back after leaving it in a uber.

We had a very comfortable, clean and quiet room. It was on a busy road. It was cold so our window was shut. In warm weather it could maybe be noisy. The food for breakfast was fine but otherwise breakfast was chaotic and anything but a relaxing experience. It was obviously understaffed. The person on reception didn't check us in to breakfast as she was too busy dealing with everything else! So we had no cutlery which I had to ask for twice! We also had to ask for teabags, plates, bowls, scrambled egg, bread, croissants and yogurts and wait while these were found and brought out. By the time the hot buffet had been refilled most guests had left so food will have been wasted. Moreover it was not that busy. This is not good enough and definitely not worth what we paid. I would not willingly have breakfast at this hotel again it spoilt the start to our morning.

We were turned away for checking in too early. When we returned at 7pm with 2 tired toddlers we were told there were no rooms left, despite having booked and paid over a week in advance. Staff tried to move us to a neighbouring hotel without checking availability. Luckily I asked for him to double check and there were no rooms there either. It got to the point where we were being told there was nothing they could do. We had a 2 and 5 year old who were tired and sad. We were told they would have to try to make other people move rooms to accommodate us. We found out that 1 man had been placed into a family room by himself! Apparently the staff said that overbooking is very common and people queue at check in time to ensure they get a room. They should really tell you this on your confirmation email! After 45minutes of waiting around with the children we were given a room. The room smelled bad, had no soap, blood smear on the door, a bogey on the side of the bath tub and the sound of the fans from the car park outside the window was terrible- it kept us up all night. £206 for the pleasure. Such a disappointing end to our time in Bristol, it really ruined our family trip.
