Great room, very spacious and bright. The breakfast spread was fantastic, and the location is super convenient. There's a bus/train station nearby, so it's easy to get to the airport and local attractions. Just remember to grab a public transport card!

The room was very tidy, and although the facilities were a bit old, they were thankfully clean. The location is also excellent, right above the Canberra bus station.

Hotel is in a very good city location with access to light rail, coaches, restaurants and shopping mall within walking distance. Free breakie for kids too which was good and breakfast offer itself was acceptable. Apart from that you'd have to turn a blind eye to the state of the room itself (need to lower your expectations by a lot) , run down bathrooms ( needs major renovation), dusty bedsides and snack bar table, very crowded pool and lack of hotel car spaces.

My children had fun during our stays, the room is clean and smell good. And the morning breakfast is yummy. It’s just that when I tried to call for service in the telephone they didn’t answer many time. But all in all its a good place to stay especially with the kids.

We checked in at 2pm but didn’t enter our room until around 4pm. My 3-year-old son and I opened the door to find a middle-aged man **************** inside the room. Reception later admitted they had issued us the wrong key. This is not a “mistake” — it is a serious failure in safety procedures and room-key management. A child being exposed to a ***** stranger is unacceptable. The hotel’s response was a complimentary breakfast, followed by a refund of a minibar Apple juice and parking at checkout, which does not come close to addressing the seriousness of the incident. A pre-requested cot also never arrived and had to be collected by my husband ourselves, highlighting further operational issues. The location is excellent, but due to the lack of basic safety and professional handling of this incident, we will not be staying here again.

Booked two king rooms with double sofa bed, no bed sheet or pillow provided for the sofa bed, one room had the nice decor chair, other room doesn’t, couldn’t get hold of the reception around 10:30 pm, toys from previous guest left inside the draws, hairs on bathroom doors. Overall a average experience, hotel needed some maintenance and upgrade, cleaning staffs needs to be more attention to detail

I was suprised to see that they were charging for Car parking. No amenities provided in the Hotel. There were no water bottles available in the room. I would not prefer anyone to book Novotel.

We had an amazing stay at the Novotel Hotel. The staff were exceptional—friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. Check-in was smooth and easy, which made everything start off perfectly. The parking was convenient and well managed, offering great value for money. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great variety and high-quality options. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel

This was an absolutely terrible stay, and I will neither return nor recommend it to anyone. My check-in experience on December 30th was unpleasant from the very beginning. At 12 PM that day, my friend and I left our luggage at the front desk and specifically asked about our room. The front desk staff clearly stated that we could check in promptly at 2 PM. After shopping in the city, we returned to the hotel at 1:58 PM, only to be told the room needed another 5 minutes for cleaning. So, we waited. About 10 minutes later, when we inquired again, the reply was, “It’s not ready yet.” At this point, we realized the white male staff member at the front desk was displaying what I can only describe as transparent stupidity. I pressed him on how much longer it would take, and he simply said, “I don’t know.” We waited in the lobby for another 30 minutes. When we asked again, the response was still, “I have no idea, should be ready soon.” By then, it was already past 3 PM, and there was still no clear answer. We had to request that the front desk staff go upstairs and check the room situation themselves. A manager then kindly went up to check, and only after returning did he finally inform us that we could check in. That evening, we took a drink from the mini-bar. The front desk almost “instantly” knocked on our door, asking if we had used the mini-bar. The speed was incredibly unsettling. Before 8 AM the next morning, housekeeping knocked loudly on our door. We clearly stated, “No need,” and only then did they stop bothering us. On the third morning, after an all-nighter celebrating New Year's Eve, we had just slept for a little over an hour when the emergency alarm suddenly went off in our room. Subsequently, a manager made an announcement over the intercom in a very difficult-to-understand accent, stating there was an “emergency” in the hotel, but it was still under investigation, and guests should just “remain vigilant.” After a while, he announced it was “clear.” There was no clear explanation throughout the entire process, severely disrupting our rest. The same situation occurred again on the fourth morning. I had an early flight, so I checked out and left around 6 AM, while my friend was still sleeping in the room. Around 7:10 AM, the alarm went off again. She reported that the hallway was filled with awakened guests, and the alarm didn't stop but instead intensified, making it impossible to continue resting. She was forced to check out early. In addition to all this, there were several completely unacceptable hygiene and facility issues: First, the sheets had noticeable bloodstains and patches of dirt. Second, we found a large, dead insect in the room (which housekeeping only removed after we called them). We also experienced a broken-down elevator during our stay. All in all, I advise everyone not to choose a cheap hotel just to save money. My friend and I have never had such a terrible hotel experience.

I was hopeful of a hassle free break with my children only to be met with ridiculous parking conditions, difficult to find, almost impossible to manourver a reasonable sized car in, offsite parking and walking in the dark in an unfamiliar city with children from offsite parking to Motel. The swipe card had to be reset after many trips back to the lobby, lifts were extremely slow. The breakfast was a redeeming feature but not enough for me to want to book again. Not the relaxing stay we had in mind
