Mount Manor

It’s my third time checking in here. Though I had a very bad experience the first time, this time they improved a lot! It’s very near to the airport. The only drawback is they got to really clean the room well before allowing for guest to checkin. I understand there are some construction going on. Obviously it will be dusty. So they got to constantly clean the place or at least clean it before the guests arrives to check in. There are also flies at the dine in area. Otherwise, their service and room are really good.

ALL I CAN SAY I: THE HOTEL IS THE BEST

I with my family stayed at Mount Manor, Chennai in November 2015. I had booked the hotel thru' Makemytrip and Airport Pickup and Drop and Breakfast were offered complimentary. The understanding was that I could cancel the booking at free of cost about two days prior to the date of booking. I had discussed my pickup requirements with the front desk about seven days prior to the booking date and was advised that I should send them a email detailing my plans so that they do not miss anything. On reaching Chennai Airport, when I contacted the hotel for pickup arrangements, I was informed that they have stopped pickup from Airport since a couple of days. When I enquired as to why this was not informed to me by telephone / email - they did not have any answer. THE SO CALLED COMPLIMENTARY PICKUP WAS NOT PROVIDED, NOR REFUNDED. When I checked into the Hotel - the rooms was having bad Odour. Especially the toilet shaft was smelling very bad. The attached toilet cum bathroom is highly cramped. Since I was to leave the hotel at around 0530 I requested for packed breakfast (which was also supposed to be complementary). I was informed that the breakfast commences at 0730 hrs only and they even refused some bread and butter or tea in lieu of the breakfast. They offered tea on chargeable basis!!!!

If you want to sleep, don't stay at this place. My photo shows just how close the planes fly to the hotel. Beyond insane! This happened every 10 minutes or less until 1.00 AM and started up again at 4.00 AM.

booked a standard AC Room The bed is not comfy old bed faded sheets and liners but clean. TV is too too small size of computer monitor like 10 inch Bathroom is superb dirty with broken tiles and no shower Ordered food it was below average The only advantage airport is near and they have free pick up and drop Morning buffet the staffs are not energetic most of them interested in even greeting

Location - on the main road & close to the airport. Rooms - not up market. Will not wow you, but just fine for a short 1 or 2 night stay. Rooms have AC & a small TV Price - Just about fine. Scope for better rooms at this price point. Service - prompt & quick. Restaurant - available on site. Breakfast - part of room booking. Best part of the stay. Decent spread, mostly South Indian flair. You could get your cereal, eggs & toast. Parking - not sure! Tip - If you do not like road noise, ask for rooms in the inner side of the hotel. Will be helpful if you can make friends with a few odd mosquitoes.
