Find the Cheap Rhodes Hotels

The hotel's buffet is very rich, I like it very much.

We stayed here for seven days with two small children (ages 4 and 5). This is a budget resort that caters mostly to Europeans which means that some of the services / accommodations do not line up with American expectations. The pros: -This was one of the only all-inclusive resorts on the island that had two bedroom units -The housekeeping staff were fantastic and did great work keeping our room clean -The kids camp folks were always very nice and accommodating -The street food gyros and pizza were both (surprisingly good- probably the consistently best food items) -The resort was generally quiet ie no issues with loud, late night partiers that impacted our sleep -There is a robust car rental service on site (we rented from the airport from the same vendor) -We never had issues finding lounges either at the pool or the beach and both were crowded. There were folks out there at 7am putting towels down, which is fine. What I found to be more rude were people who left their towels on their lounges and then did not return for hours. -There was plenty of storage / cabinet space in the rooms- much more than most hotel rooms -Wifi worked well -The beach was very nice- we were concerned about the stones and they were not an issue at all. The water was exceptionally clear and there were very little wave action / no current that was perfect for our kids -The beach has several convenient shower stations -We appreciated the free compressor in the back of onsite market to fill up the inflatables. It would be good for the hotels to have a ”free” desk for folks to leave water toys, such as inflatables / sand toys, that they will not take home and that can be re-used. The cons (quite a few): -Upon checking in to our room, the batteries were dead in one of the A/C remotes (minor, but should have been caught by housekeeping) -The bathtub drain was not functional and necessitate a maintenance call for repair -The bathroom drain backed up and flooded the bathroom when we let the water out of the bathtub (we subsequently let the water out more slowly to avoid this) -The toilet flushing sounded like a jet engine -The phone in the bathroom inexplicable started ringing the first night with no one on the other end (I unplugged it for the duration of our stay) -The shower and bathroom both had unlabelled hand soap dispensers (I'm ok with dispensers, but, for the shower- is it shampoo? conditioner? body-wash? all-in-one?) -The sheets were thin / worn and the bath towels thin and felt like sandpaper -There are only one or two outlets in each bedroom (I had read this in other reviews and packed a power *****)- the hotel should just install power strips or larger outlets -The minibar restocking aspect of the hotel is frustrating (restocked only every two days)- I don't drink, but I did drink bottled / soda water and it was frustrating running out in the room when there was a bar outside by the pool that had both (although the filtered water drinking fountain at the

The hotel is called a ‘luxury’ hotel- if you call luxury having ants crawling all over your face and head when you wake up then go for it. There were ants in all the rooms and we constantly had to ask for bug spray- to the point we had to access the cleaning cupboard personally just to get the spray. It didn’t help the rooms only got cleaned every 2 days including clean towels which made the problem worse. There is a massive issue with OVERBOOKING at the hotel where our whole wedding party were either moved rooms on one or more occasions or made to go to a sister hotel with no certainty of return. It was only when we started to complain that we got a result. There we damp, mould and leaking issues in numerous rooms that the wedding guests were staying with. The hotel management showed a lack of organisation- my brother in law also found a cockroach leg in his omlette (very distinctive as a bugs leg unless you are blind) - when he approached management about it they became very defensive and actually threatened him with the police - continued with them insisting he was lying publicly on his review left. Overall it was a very stressful experience which impacted the wedding party and caused the bride to start her wedding day off feeling considerably unwell. Very out dated with a lot of maintenance issues. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially with kids or elderly.

My husband returned to Pefkos after staying last year at the Matina. We arrived around 1130pm and were given keys to room 148. This was up the hill but the lower block. This room was round the back, no view but also no light to even put your key in the door...pitch black! We advised reception next day and this was rectified. The room was very small, a triple room. If we had brought our teenager or another adult it would not be suitable at all. You couldn't swing a cat. The patio was a decent size, albeit high concrete walls. We unfortunately couldn't sit out as the place was crawling with ants. Our last day we extended the room and were advised we would need go move to room 143. This room was also a triple but much better. Lovely view and much more spacious. Based on the original room. I wouldn't return. My husband reserved a table at Nostalgia coming back from the beach one night. We said we would be back in around 45 minutes. On arrival we were advised we couldn't have the table as someone else had reserved that particular one that had been before. Funny that this wasn't mentioned 45 mins earlier. So if you book and you're not a 'regular' prepare to have your table preference removed. The waiter was very rude to my husband and in hindsight, we should have turned round and left. We are thankfully going back to Kos in a couple of weeks after visiting for the first time in June and have to say the two islands don't compare in terms of hospitality.
