We visited last week as a family of 5, with kids aged 14, 12 and 10 and we were all pleasantly pleased with this hotel. After reading some of the dreadful reviews we had some concerns about this place. However, the hotel is really good, clean and the staff are friendly and easily accessible from the airport and extremely easy to get around the island. Despite the dreadful reviews regarding food I would have to disagree, I have a very picky eater and I am also picky with food, but I did not go hungry and I enjoyed all of the meals I had. There is a good choice which is definitely not the same daily, salad is always available and I can only imagine that some reviews stating the food is the same everyday is because the salad is often the same, but there was a great variation of hot and cold food. I would say it's not as much of a choice as other hotels I have stayed at, but the quality was good. We stayed in a family room, and it was extremely spacious and clean. It was also cleaned daily and new towels provided. The rooms in my opinion could use a little updating to match the rest of the hotel, but for it being advertised as an 'economy hotel' I didn't expect it to be as well present as it was. The pools are lovely, very clean and tidy around the pool areas and gardens. We were slightly disappointed that the water park was not open as it was not stated that it would be closed, however, it is still out of season and it will open from the first of May I was informed by a manager. The snack bar offered a limited selection throughout the day, but after eating breakfast and lunch in the restaurant most days, we didn't feel the need to eat from there, and it is purely a snack bar which offered enough for a snack. The all inclusive drinks were limited too, and they were very low alcohol, and if I went back, I would probably go full board rather than all inclusive as the only alcohol that tasted any good was the lager. The all inclusive wine was poor quality which was a bit disappointing but we bought wine for having our evening meal which was fairly priced and tasted good. When we arrived there was a mix of age groups, couples and families, however, the last couple of days were mostly elderly people, again this is no problem but some were disgruntled by children playing in the pools, but this is not the hotels issue, that's people in general. Overall we had a fabulous week and I believe it was fairly priced and good value for money. I think due to it being off season the activities such as the water park, entertainment and kids club were all off, but as a family we still had a great time and I would definitely recommend the hotel and I think we will go back in the near future, but probably during the high season.
