"I was looking for something in Puerto Rico, secluded and with great views, where I could relax and disconnect. I found the Grand Horizon by accident and it was incredible! I chose a room with a pool! Every detail was meticulously attended to. The apartment has absolutely everything (dishwasher, washing machine, iron, pots, pans, filtered drinking water) so you can do your shopping and never leave the house again during your entire stay. It's high up on the mountain, with easy parking, hardly any noise, and the best views in the area! The breakfast was excellent, and although it's a virtual hotel, the few staff members are very friendly, there's a great atmosphere, and they're attentive to every detail. A true 5-star hotel that I hope to return to soon."

"We arrived in the evening on an all-inclusive package and had no problems at all with check-in. We decided to skip the welcome drinks so we could drop our bags off and get some dinner before the restaurant closed. The food in the main buffet restaurant was very good throughout our stay. There was always plenty of choice, including two grilled meat options, two grilled fish options, a couple of pasta dishes, and several pizza options. There were also soups, salads, tapas-style cold dishes, and a wide variety of desserts, including a special dessert each evening. Everything we tried was delicious. In fact, we enjoyed the buffet so much during the first few days that we didn’t even bother booking one of the à la carte restaurants, even though one meal per stay was included with the all-inclusive package. The included wines were lovely too, and there was a good overall selection of drinks. The cocktails were also very nice, although the quality did seem to depend on who was making them. Some of the bar staff were much friendlier than others, and a few gave the impression that serving you was an inconvenience. By contrast, the restaurant staff were consistently friendly and efficient. That said, the service overall was not especially warm or personal, and there was very little interaction beyond the basics. The room was comfortable, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Everything worked as it should, so we had no complaints there. One benefit of the all-inclusive package was free access to the spa, which was a nice extra. We also considered paying for the Privilege upgrade, but at an additional £600 on top of what we had already paid, we really didn’t feel it offered enough value, and in hindsight I’m glad we didn’t choose it. The biggest disappointment for us was the entertainment. Both the evening entertainment and the daytime activities were very poor, especially for a hotel of this standard. We had expected much better. During our stay there was also a storm, and unfortunately no effort seemed to be made to provide any extra indoor entertainment or even put something on the TV in the bar area. This felt like a missed opportunity and was disappointing, as even a small amount of effort could have made a big difference for guests. Overall, there were definitely some positives, particularly the food, the cleanliness, and the room itself. However, the lacklustre entertainment and inconsistent bar service mean this is probably not somewhere we would return."

"Arrived back from Eden Appertments a week ago after visiting Peurto Rico for 7 days. A excellent hotel that caters very well for families with children and adults only. The food was outstanding. Plenty of choice for everyone. The bar staff and restaurant staff were so hard working and never stopped. A big thank you to Big Al, Michel and all the staff for a very pleasant experience. A lovely roof top terrace for Adults only was,a great addition for those without children. What I found amazing about this holiday was that there so many lovely and friendly families from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Scotland as well as English. It works really well. Hotel room was very spacious and impeccably clean. Good entertainment for families. Beer and cold drinks on tap Great transport to beach daily, 3 times a day and pick up. I would recommend this hotel to British Families and also Adults. Children well behaved. Credit to parents. A big thank to Leo behind the desk who was extremely kind and friendly The Gran Canarians and Spanish people were fantastic all round. 110% Thank you. Ps A big toast to Big Al (in photo)"

"We stayed at the Tabaiba Princess for 9 nights. After booking, I saw some recent reviews and did wonder if I should change plans but honestly, I’m not sure what people are expecting. We had a great family holiday, so I’d take some of those with a pinch of salt. There are a couple of minor niggles. The air con isn’t the best (and it was very hot while we were there), but we came prepared with small USB desk fans and left the air con running while we were out in the evening, which made sleeping manageable. The gym is well equipped but very warm, definitely a bit of a sweat box! There also aren’t quite enough parasols for the number of sunbeds. I’m an early riser so would grab a bed first thing (you do need to stay with it until 10am), but after that there are plenty of beds available, just not as much shade poolside. Aside from that, the hotel is brilliantly set up for families. There’s loads for kids to do, and the animation team work really hard. The entertainment wasn’t always our thing, but there’s plenty of variety. The pool area is great, with loads of shallow access points for younger children and an onsite water park too. Food-wise, there’s lots of choice and it’s well organised, we never saw anything run out and rarely waited more than 5 minutes to be seated in the main restaurant. The pool bars serve food from 10:30–18:00, with one offering the usual pizza, burgers and chips, and the other slightly healthier options. The two bookable restaurants are also buffet style, the Italian was okay, the Asian was better. Drinks are self service in the main, I preferred this, there isn’t then the pressure to continually tip because drinks are being brought to you poolside. Would we come again? Probably not, only because there are so many places to try. But did we enjoy it? Absolutely, such a lovely family holiday."
