Booked this beautiful hotel for a friend’s wedding and it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in, the expansive lobby, stunning florals, and gracious staff let you know you’re in for a wonderful stay. The location is perfect, walkable to shops, restaurants, and museums. We didn’t get to dine there, so hope to make another trip back.

We stayed three separate times over two weeks. If you are considering this hotel, you must be prepared to ignore the price. This is at or near the top of the table in terms of price for a very nice hotel room. The main reason to stay here is the service. It was top notch everywhere. Special thanks to Svetlana in the dining room whose smiling face welcomed us at breakfast every morning. (Breakfast is a must at least once). Also Christopher who helped us there on our last morning. Front desk kudos to Emir, both Christinas, Alexandra and Darcio (sp?) from Portugal. Also Lisa and Asa (sp?) in the spa. A visit is also a must. I don't mean to leave anyone out. These were the staff members with whom we interacted the most. Central location was also a plus.

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Copenhagen. Every aspect of our stay was phenomenal. Our family of 5 had 2 junior suites on the top floor with fantastic views and we were treated like family. Breakfasts were amazing in the hotels Michelin star restaurant, the concierge helped us arrange a city tour and a canal cruise that were fantastic and every time we were in the lobby we were greeted by name. A world class stay! Thank you.

The Queen of hotels in the Nordics, from the moment you enter the entrance and until you are in your room, you feel royal. 1st time with my son and he has been to many places so far, but the Smile on his face and the feeling swing him excited about staying @ D’Angleterre says Everything. The Christmas Lighting ceremony and seeing thousands if people wait for it was impressive. We loved the morning breakfast with everything we love to eat when we travel, his first champagne in the morning and then a couple if hours in the spa. We will be back… soon!

The stay was a once in a lifetime experience, as my wife had always dreamt of staying a night in this hotel, so it was my present to her on a round birthday. The hotel oozes style: An amazing building with a lot of common spaces with stylish quality furniture and most importantly the entire staff is downright amazing: I have never stayed in a hotel, where everyone was SO willing (by heart) to provide the very best experience for their customers, you surely feel like a personal guest, not a random customer. Our room was very spacious and overlooking Kongens Nytorv (what's not to like?), it an experience in itself to walk around barefooted on (in) the inch-thick, soft carpet! Bed was comfortable, light curtains were effective and windows (of course) walls and doors sound proof, so sleeping quality was great. On the other hand, the breakfast was downright disappointing! I'll spare you of telling the price (believe me: You won't believe it anyway), but I've had AT LEAST as good and varied breakfasts at 3-star hotels, the only thing that saves a little of the glory is that it is served in the stylish Marchal restaurant. Last - but not least - economy: It IS (very) expensive, and in spite of a fantastic experience it is (sorry D'Angleterre!) very hard for me to see, why I should pay as much as the quadruple price of a 4-star hotel in town.

If I say this is the best hotel in the world, many will not believe me but that is the feeling I get every time I visited during the last ten years and was never disappointed on any single point. The hotel is simply unique. Forget about golden fixture and overwhelming snobbism. It is the home feeling and the satisfaction of a relaxed but luxurious treatment.

I had a chance to stay at the Villa Copenhagen and the D'Angleterre back-to-back so was able to compare easily. The D'Angleterre is the grande dame of Copenhagen and is much more conservative/elegant than Villa Copenhagen. The rooms are also much larger and the hotel has a much nicer gym. The location is perfect. Of course, for all of this, the price tag is much higher than the Villa Copenhagen. My one quibble is that service was not quite as good as the last time I stayed (or at Villa Copenhagen). The agent checking me in did not have any record that I had stayed there before. Further, I checked in at the same time as my friend and both of us were entitled to upgrades based on our reservations. The agent helping my friend immediately notified him he received an upgrade. My agent never mentioned it - when I asked about it, it became apparent he had never checked. He then responded that the hotel was full and nothing was available. This despite the fact that I was offered 4 different types of upgrades (for a fee) when I had checked in online the day before. His supervisor did then offer me an upgrade. I realize it is a ridiculous complaint - but my issue was more about the lack of friendliness/helpfulness - previous stays had much friendlier and more personalized service.
