The auntie manning the hotel is very friendly. Although meals are not included in the booking, she still made us welcome fruits & drinks and even breakfast. Also trying to help us with our tours with a local tour guide. The price for the local tour guide is very reasonable.

Wow, I loved this homestay! The lively and kind lady who runs Yishui homestay is a good English speaker and very patient, so foreigners as well as Chinese will feel at ease staying here. It is a very hospitable atmosphere! Location is in the pedestrianized part of the old city, very near the Drum Tower. Therefore, there is lots to see/do/eat while walking nearby. But the location is also not far from the driving road, so it was an easy, short walk to meet my driver when going out to the hanging temple, the grottos, and the train station. The facility is an old-style courtyard home, with a beautiful wood-beam ceiling. The interior rooms are completely renovated and modernized, with great water pressure, all necessary toiletries, an excellent quality hair dryer, slippers, and super air-con/heating! (It was -3 one night during my stay, but I was warm and comfy in that room!) Clean towels are brought daily. Breakfast was included in my stay and I was very happy with the food. It is an ample Chinese-style breakfast, and you can inform the cook if there is some food you don't/can't eat. Although the breakfast was plenty of food for me, I saw a guest ask for more baozi, and he was kindly given 2 more. Fresh fruit was also offered for free several times during my stay. Within a 5 minute radius (walking), there are many eating places for lunch, dinner, snacks, and tea/coffee. There are also numerous historical sites (dragon wall, temples, "mansions", the Catholic Church, etc.) in easy walking distance. In fact, there was so much to see nearby that I was not able to see everything! The homestay looks very charming, and many, many people were often seen stopping to take photos in front of the homestay, as well as on the back wall of the homestay, which is next to a Chinese Opera stage--it is especially lovely at night! It is a 10-15 minute walk to the ancient city wall, where you can climb up and enjoy the sights, or visit a (Chinese) bookstore within the city wall, under one of the arches. My Beijing friends, who stayed at a nearby hotel, were equally impressed when they came to visit me in Yishui homestay, and they got the WeChat contact so that they can return to stay at Yishui homestay on a return trip--so easy to get there by fast train from Beijing!

I was fortunate enough to stay in a B&B on Yishui Street. It not only had an elegant environment and complete facilities, but more importantly, it gave me the warmth and comfort of home. (The mattress in particular is very comfortable. It happened to be during the renovation period, so I made a note of the brand (¬‿¬)っ🛏️) First of all, I was deeply impressed by the attentive service of the B&B. Every day, Fanfan would prepare fresh fruits. This not only made me feel the attentiveness of the host, but also kept me healthy and energetic during the trip. The wide variety of fruits and their delicious taste definitely added a sweetness to my stay. And when it comes to breakfast, it is even more amazing. The breakfast provided by the B&B is very rich, with many side dishes. This breakfast selection not only satisfies my taste buds, but also makes me full of energy and expectations at the beginning of the day. Of course, what moved me the most was Fanfan, the staff at the B&B. She is very enthusiastic every day. Whether it is the reception when I check in or the answers when I need help, she always has a smile and is patient and meticulous. Her enthusiasm and professionalism made me feel at home and at ease. Overall, this B&B experience in Datong Water Street was perfect. Whether it's the comfort of the room or the service quality of the B&B, I can't fault it. In particular, the daily fruits and sumptuous breakfast, as well as Fanfan’s warm service, left a deep impression on me on this trip. I believe that whether it is a family trip or a group of friends, this is a good place worth recommending. Looking forward to staying again next time!

This is my second time visiting Datong Ancient City. Based on my experience last time, I chose this B&B which is convenient for traveling. The first thing I recommend is the location advantage. It is next to the Drum Tower and Pedestrian Street, so it is very convenient for traveling and dining. The B&B has a tidy environment, clean rooms, rich breakfast, and is a good place to take a break from the bustle. The owner and the ladies are very enthusiastic and try their best to solve all kinds of problems. I am very satisfied with my stay.

It was a very embarrassing and poor check-in experience... This was my first time staying in a B&B... There was no housekeeper during our stay, and there was only an aunt doing service... But this aunt has basically no sense of service, let alone professional service. Having sex… First of all, we arrived in the rain... The B&B did not have a parking lot. The car had to be parked in the public parking lot. Even the parking area was more than 200 meters away from the B&B... The B&B aunt did not pick us up... so we searched for a long time. We waited for a long time at the door of the B&B, but no one opened the door... because only an aunt came to pick us up, and there was no housekeeper... There was no internet when we checked in... Due to the rain, the room had marble tiles on the floor, which made the floor very slippery... I said that anti-slip mats were provided , but the aunt didn't understand my needs at all... The layout of the room is pretty good, the hygiene is average, and there are spider webs in the corners... It feels like the bathroom and shower room are installed backwards. You can see clearly from the outside, but you can't see clearly from the inside. Outside... the night shift aunt took a break around 8:30... I was embarrassed to ask her to get up and help me find mineral water. She said there was only one bottle of mineral water in the entire warehouse 😂 I basically helped myself after that. Ordered takeout...went to open the door of the B&B by myself in the rain... The breakfast the next day was still very good, rich and delicious... Because the baby ate slowly, I heard the aunt said that she wanted to reheat it for us... She stood at the door for a long time... I said she could leave if she didn't need it. ..But she asked me very loudly if I wanted to check out... This was really frustrating, even my children were scared... The location of this B&B is very good. It is a quiet location in the middle of the hustle and bustle... This is a good place... but the service is really zero... zero... The only interaction I had with the housekeeper was after checking out, I added her WeChat account and he reimbursed me a parking fee...

I like the B&B very much. The location is great. Next to the Guandi Temple is the Drum Tower. We like the courtyard. Breakfast and afternoon tea are very good. The owner is so considerate. The children’s meals are specially prepared for him. I like it very much. I will choose it next time I come to Datong. this home

I specially found a unique B&B in Datong, right on the ancient city pedestrian street, which is very convenient for eating and playing! There are only a few rooms in the courtyard, and the door will be locked at any time, making it safe and reliable. The courtyard is very quiet. If you get up early, you can have breakfast in the courtyard, which makes you feel like the owner of a mansion! Ha ha! The breakfast is quite rich and tastes very homely. I highly recommend you to try it!

I did enough research before coming here and saw this B&B. I called for consultation at nearly 10 o'clock in the evening and was extremely patient in explaining. After arriving, I was not disappointed. The two children loved it. The aunt would usually lock the door, so the children could Feel free to play in the yard. When we were about to arrive, we told the time. Auntie turned on the air conditioner in advance and prepared fruit tea, which was super heart-warming. Breakfast was also extremely rich every day, and it was very cozy for the whole family to sit in the yard and eat. This B&B is right next to the commercial street. You can go shopping when you go out, but you can't hear the noise when you are in the yard. It is very close to Zini and Longjutang. It can be reached in a few minutes on foot. At night, it is just a short walk away. You can go to the city wall, admire the lights, and ride a bicycle together as a family. Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple are also nearby and can be reached on foot. Finally, I must say that the aunties at the B&B are all super nice. They are very nice and kind in both morning and evening shifts. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and will stay here again next time.

Very good inn with a rich breakfast. It is in the heart of the ancient city and has fun in the bustle. The courtyard is very quiet and the service lady is very kind. It is worth choosing.
