"I’ve been coming to this hotel for years and my review will be very accurate, I like this hotel because it has a lot of potential with the right approach, and it’s not about spending more money….After digging so deep and talking to employees and staying in different rooms and different floors, I can assure you that the main problem is primarily the maintenance guy….same problems for years…the elevator is so slow, water issues, no hot or no cold water, the faucets and the showers, TV’s and hot/cold air and so on…I have no idea what he’s doing….never seen the guy….The main problem after that is the manager , her name is Maya and she is running this nice hotel to the ground….she is ignorant, arrogant, and clueless…she is the real problem..from what I saw….this nice hotel will go out of business soon if this lady stays there….I’ve never seen anybody that bad….She doesn’t know how to run or do anything…if I was the owner of this nice hotel, I would fire her immediately, believe me when I say: save your money…this hotel will run much better without a manager. My name is Rachae M and my phone number is +1 (313) 539-5142"

"This is going to be a long review so if you would like the pros/cons jump to the end. I am Marriott Titanium member. I ONLY mention this because it is proof I have spent many, many nights at Marriott properties. It in no way is meant to be a "bragging right" or anything. Everything I talk about in this review is the basic bare minimum that absolutely ANY guest at any hotel should receive. We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Dearborn for a week. Checked in on a Sunday and checked out the following Sunday. We checked in around 6:00pm and after an extended wait and grumbling from the front desk (believe his name was Keivon) about the hotel being over sold and something about a contractor not leaving, we were assigned room 320. We went up to the room, opened the door and instantly was hit with the strongest smell of cigarette smoke I have smelled since the 80s! There are not words to describe the strength of the smell. If I had rubbed my nose in an ashtray I doubt the smell would have been any worse than this room was. We immediately went back downstairs and told the front desk there was absolutely no way we could stay in this room due to the cigarette smoke smell. He seemed surprised, picked up his cell phone and called someone. Fairly quickly another gentleman showed up (Jojo - maintenance), asked what the issue was and then went upstairs. Jojo was gone a very brief amount of time and upon his return apologized to me and said "you are right, that is REALLY bad". He immediately grabbed a blue box with a cord (I assume an ozone machine) and ran back upstairs. At this point we were then moved to room 401 which I was told was all that was left. We entered 401 to find what appeared to be a clean and definitely smell free room. Little did we know what was to come. After some unpacking and a Walmart trip for groceries we decided to make dinner. I started opening doors and drawers to figure out where all the "kitchen stuff" was only to find almost all the silverware had dried food and fingerprints on it. The glasses were filthy as well as the cooking utensils, knives, pot and pan. The pan was not only still greasy from previous use but someone had gouged the Teflon coating so severely it was flaking off in the pan. To say I was frustrated is an understatement but I had already been told there was no other rooms so here we were. The room had a dishwasher so we loaded it up to wash everything. We were going to hand wash 3 bowls and 3 spoons to have cereal for supper only to find no detergent or dishwashing soap in the room yet there was a sponge. I called the front desk and no answer. I then trek down to the front desk to get soap and was given 1 dishwasher pod (keep in mind we were going to be there a week) and a bottle of liquid soap for hand washing. I wasn't in the mood to argue and took the soap without saying anything else. Now that the dirty dishes are washing and we've had our cereal for supper since ther"

"Shocked at the indifference of the front desk staff. They seemed surprised at my presence at the front desk because they (two women) were giving all their attention to their cell phones. There unfriendliness continued from there. Short answers that seemed almost contemptuous. Many members of staff, front desk and housekeeping, need hygiene lessons. The building has a pretty outside appearance but is musty inside. Bacteria house. And it's difficult to think of a worse location for a hotel. I'll be staying at The Henry if I ever choose a Marriott hotel again (unlikely) in this awful town."
