Steigenberger Chengdu

Booked this last minute and was pleasantly surprised! The concierge was super responsive to all my questions. The room was clean and tidy, and it even came with ski passes (3.5 hours including changing time) and hot spring tickets (the hot springs are located between two hotels). Breakfast was excellent too. Plus, it's really close to the Panda Valley.

Double Qincheng hot spring bath (single experience): The hot spring pools were a bit small. 2 tickets for a 3-hour beginner ski session at Chengdu Hot Snow Miracle: I got two free Hot Snow tickets after becoming a member, and a complimentary breakfast for one child. Little customer service agent Yuna was incredibly attentive. She helped me arrange a late check-out. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Dujiangyan.

The hotel was generally quiet; if I hadn't seen so many people at dinner in the restaurant, I would have thought there weren't many guests. The room's decor, layout, and facilities were all up to standard, and the garden view was excellent. It's conveniently located with many good restaurants nearby. Although the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it felt thoughtfully prepared. My favorite was the perfectly cooked congee, and the pancake and waffle toppings bar was very rich. The two concierges I met over these two days were both very nice, enthusiastic, and attentive. The security management was quite responsible, and Miss Xiao Xiao from guest services was very welcoming. I would choose this hotel again if I return to Dujiangyan.

Dujiangyan is definitely worth an overnight stay. During the day, you can visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System and be amazed by the wisdom of the ancients. I've seen many promotional videos, but it's not until you're there that you truly understand what 'four-six water diversion' means and how water and sand control were achieved. In the evening, enjoy the night view of Nanqiao Bridge, stroll through Guanxian Old Street, and sample local snacks. The 'blue tears' scenery lives up to its reputation. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to both Dujiangyan and Panda Valley. Since it was the off-season, we were very grateful to Yuna for upgrading our room and helping us arrange adjacent rooms so we could look after our parents, who are in their eighties and specifically wanted to see Dujiangyan, fulfilling their wish. The lake-view room offered a beautiful landscape, and the room was very clean. We had a very comfortable two-night stay and will definitely recommend it to friends.

This hotel deserves a full five-star rating! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt completely at ease. Yuna, the front desk attendant, had an incredibly warm and friendly smile. Check-in was super quick, and they even upgraded my room for free. The room itself was spacious and bright, and the housekeeping was impeccable – not a single water stain or speck of dust on the desk or in the shower, which made my inner clean freak extremely happy. The mattress was just right, not too soft and not too firm, and combined with the fluffy duvet, I slept soundly all night without a single dream. The soundproofing was also excellent; I wasn't disturbed by any noise at all. Breakfast offered a fantastic variety, with both Chinese and Western options, and the freshly cooked noodles and fresh fruit were a huge bonus. The location couldn't be better – you're right at the ski slopes as soon as you step out, and there's a commercial district nearby, making getting around incredibly convenient. My entire stay felt like a home away from home. This hotel has definitely made it onto my list of favorite hidden gems, and I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!
