Travelodge Durham ★★★
"The environment is good, and the Italian restaurant next door is very cost-effective"
Cbh Ramside Hotel Golf Spa Durham ★★★★
"Good hotel easy to get to very accessible really comfortable hotel plenty of food choices"
Honest Lawyer Hotel ★★★
"Could do with a good update. Having radiator on ready for guests arrival would have been a nice touch, room was freezing at first. Breakfast was buffet style and a bit chaotic but got there in the end."
Bannatyne Hotel Durham ★★★
"Very nice place , top service and customers"
Premier Inn Durham North ★★★
"There were no extra pillows available in the room and only one available when we went to reception. The toilet flush handle in the accessible bathroom was faulty and it was very hot in the room as there was no A/C. We opened the window but it was noisy outside, making it difficult to sleep. Added to this the bedroom had not been cleaned properly and there was a spider and cobwebs behind one bedside table."
Hotel Indigo DURHAM by IHG ★★★★
"The hotel building is very beautiful and distinctive. The location is excellent, a 5-minute walk to the river and a 10-minute walk to the cathedral. The breakfast is plentiful and the dining environment is pleasant. The hotel has parking, which is convenient. It offers great value for money and I recommend staying here."
Radisson Blu Hotel, Durham ★★★★
"The hotel has a very good location, which is definitely a plus and makes it convenient for exploring the area. However, we were disappointed by a few additional charges. Bathrobes are provided only for an extra £8, and the hotel parking is also paid, which was not very convenient and added unexpected costs to the stay."
Premier Inn Durham City Centre (Walkergate) ★★★
"The front desk was very welcoming and the room was very clean"
The Royal Oak ★★★
"The hotel is located along a country road. The room is quite big. Breakfast is a traditional British food. To experience authentic British life, you should have a full English breakfast."

The Kingslodge Inn - the Inn Collection Group
"Very cozy place with an excellent onsite restaurant/pub. We were able to take a stroll into town and come back easily whenever we wanted. Service is friendly and rooms are comfortable for a good night’s sleep. All in all, a restful stay in an unforgettable historic city."

The Avenue
My Way Guest House
"Had a lovely two night stay. Kaye and Steve are very friendly, chilled and accommodating. Home from home feel, the location to Durham centre is perfect and set in beautiful grounds with fab views. Very peaceful and quiet. Great exterior facilities and the communal kitchen/lounge facilities are akin to a self catered property! So useful especially if you’re staying a few nights. Everything was immaculately clean everywhere. Breakfast was a quality continental selection, with fresh eggs and a fab egg cooker to make boiled eggs just as you like them. And all essential fresh coffee and presses. Only downside we felt, was the constant early morning activity, bumping and creaking floorboards from the floor above. Great value for money. Look forward to staying again."
Home from Home, only 5 minutes drive from Historical Durham center.
The Queens Head
"Spacious room, nice kitchenette and basic accommodation. The room was a little tired and smelled a bit musty, but very clean and I slept well. Check-in was straight forward enough at the bar and very nice bar staff member. Several buses can be caught very nearby and it’s around 10 minutes into town (£2 single or £4 day pass). I would stay again :)"
The Old Colliery Stables
Cozy Apartments in the Center of London
"When we were looking for somewhere to stay we were concerned that there had been no reviews written for here since 2022? However due to being offered at a good price and being satisfied with what reviews were offered we chose to stay for two nights in May 2024. The checkin was easy and the accommodation (Hen House) is well presented, comfortable and warm. We found the information folder made us smile as it referenced info from 2019 & clearly hadn’t been updated for some time. The lack of any information detailing walks we could take from the accommodation with our two dogs was also frustrating. That said, we got what we wanted, a peaceful stay in a handy location. We had an enjoyable time exploring Durham city as well as Hamsterley Forest. We self catered with no issues. The WiFi was essential for the smart TV to work, so when the WiFi was knocked off on our last day before we had even left, meant our last impression wasn’t great. If we needed to stay in the area again we would consider returning though."
Colliery Cottage
White House Cottages
"We stayed in the 1 bed cottage & our friends stayed in the 2 bed next door. They are situated in a lovely village setting, Milk in the fridge & a box of biscuits were much appreciated on our arrival. Good off street parking & a good bus service into Durham City Centre. Great, welcoming pub across the road, good food & nice atmosphere ( they do breakfast too). The cottages had every thing you need for a short stay but we all agreed that there is room for some improvements to make the cottage a little more comfortable. The soft furnishings were well worn & a little grubby, beds so uncomfortable (maybe this is personal choice but we felt the beds along with the sofas, towels & bed linen could do with replacing) the general cleanliness was ok but then you start noticing the cobwebs etc, nothing major but the attention to detail would make these cottages go from ok to luxury. In the 2 bed cottage the smoke alarm was missing. Overall we had a good stay & the village setting , the owners friendliness etc is worthy of the rating given as the points I have noted can be so easily sorted."
Durham Riverside Apartments
"This is our 3rd stay at Chris and Wendy's magnificent apartment. We stayed at the duplex apartment as the bed configuration suits our needs. We have also stayed at the other apartment available and it is equally luscious. The apartment is , by far, the cleanest and best stocked accommodation we have ever stayed in.....and we do travel a fair bit!! Beautiful food 'essentials' provided, coffee pods, milk, bread, eggs, jam, butter, croissants, oh, and a bottle of Malbec thrown in!!!!.......just a complete haven. Our son is studying at Durham and he adores visiting us here when we come: a splash of luxury!! haha! Location is fabulous as it's a hop, skip and jump to Durham centre, cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Thanks Chris and Wendy for your hospitality and we'll see you again soon. We are hoping to bag these apartments for our son's graduation in 2025!!!"
