Travelodge Durham ★★★
"The environment is good, and the Italian restaurant next door is very cost-effective"
Hotel Indigo DURHAM by IHG ★★★★
"Great!"
Premier Inn Durham East ★★★
"It's a wonderful stay. Thanks to the lady in the reception helped us both check-in and out. We felt very welcome. The room were great too. Some of us loved the shower due to the small shower head we had at home. Great to have slow WiFi, and this led us to have more family time than internet time. Thank you very much!"
Delta Hotels by Marriott Durham Royal County ★★★★
"Lovely hotel, only had breakfast but it was great. What makes this hotel is the staff and hospitality. I celebrated my birthday while there and they went above and beyond with cake and Prosecco - thank you so much"
Premier Inn Durham North ★★★
"Location good, facilities good and staff very helpful. Nearby park and ride ideal for visiting city of Durham."
Radisson Blu Hotel, Durham ★★★★
"The hotel has a very good location, which is definitely a plus and makes it convenient for exploring the area. However, we were disappointed by a few additional charges. Bathrobes are provided only for an extra £8, and the hotel parking is also paid, which was not very convenient and added unexpected costs to the stay."
Cbh Ramside Hotel Golf Spa Durham ★★★★
"Lovely place, infinity pool was really nice. Bedroom was clean and spacious. Shame we couldn’t book our spa hour as the time we wanted was full, other than that everything was great."
Honest Lawyer Hotel ★★★
"Could do with a good update. Having radiator on ready for guests arrival would have been a nice touch, room was freezing at first. Breakfast was buffet style and a bit chaotic but got there in the end."
Premier Inn Durham City Centre (Walkergate) ★★★
"First I stayed in the same brand hotel in north Durham for 4 nights, and then I stayed in this hotel in the city center for 12 consecutive nights. The location is very convenient, very close to the city center square and the train station, and the scenery nearby is very good. , The room is clean and the front desk staff is friendly. It's just that the natural wind blows all the time in the room, and it seems that it can't be adjusted to warm air or turned off. However, the temperature was not bad in early October, and I will stay here again if I have the opportunity."

My Way Guest House
"The room was spotless and nicely furnished with THE comfiest bed! The bathroom was large and there were copious fluffy white towels (but no bathrobes as described). The views were tremendous and it was really close to Durham. The lounge area was lovely and accessible all the time. But…the breakfast was self-service continental style and we (and the other couple staying) loaded and put on the dishwasher which we’ve never done in a B&B before! The bedroom is within a conservatory and it was sooo hot. On our final night we asked for a fan as we couldn’t get a breeze from the window as the conservatory door was closed at night. The fan made for a better night’s sleep and I would suggest that the rooms have one in there permanently. On the confirmation email it did say that guest rooms were not guaranteed noise free. Maybe a touch of an understatement! We could hear the man next door having a good old yawn and if we weren’t talking ourselves, we could hear their conversations. Eeeek. It was a lovely location but I did think it was expensive. We used our Christmas present BuyAGift ‘2 night luxury stay’ vouchers and as we stayed a 3rd night, we paid the difference which was £230! Ouch."
Moor End House Bed & Breakfast
"William, who owns the guest house was extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. The room was clean & comfortable, with a good little shower room en suite. Everything you could think of was provided - biscuits, tea & coffee, fridge, extra radiator if needed, all forms of toiletries etc. We ordered breakfast by choosing anything we wanted from a really comprehensive menu the night before and it was laid out for us in the breakfast room at exactly the time we had asked for it. William even organised a driver to take us to and pick us up from a gig at the Stadium of Light. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others."
40 Winks Hospitality
"This was a little jewel of a find. Tucked away on South Street in Durham. Street parking cost approx 6 pounds for 23 hours. 5 mins walk to City Centre. Breakfast included in price, cater for vegetarians. King size large room, bed, bath tub & shower, all clean & top quality. Amazing views of the cathedral and castle, all accessible within ten min walk. Great cocktails available in a small bar area with an atrium area to enjoy the night air. Water and treats available in the room, including a decanter of whiskey to enjoy a night cap. The fabric of the refurbished house is indulgent. George and the staff very friendly and helpful. Cracking experience. Thank you."
The Shoes
"This is a no frills accommodation but they do everything really well. Room was big, clean and had all you need. The cooked breakfast was also great. Amazing value at £45 b&b. Would definitely stay again. You can also park right outside and the pub below keeps its beer really well."
The Avenue
The Royal Oak
"quite a distance from Durham about a 15 minutes drive … quiet farm area. nice quaint rustic inn. only gripe is the mattress needs to be changed in room 1. it sinks in the middle and is too soft . room n bathroom has been renovated and the bathroom is done nicely !!"
Cozy Apartments in the Center of London
"When we were looking for somewhere to stay we were concerned that there had been no reviews written for here since 2022? However due to being offered at a good price and being satisfied with what reviews were offered we chose to stay for two nights in May 2024. The checkin was easy and the accommodation (Hen House) is well presented, comfortable and warm. We found the information folder made us smile as it referenced info from 2019 & clearly hadn’t been updated for some time. The lack of any information detailing walks we could take from the accommodation with our two dogs was also frustrating. That said, we got what we wanted, a peaceful stay in a handy location. We had an enjoyable time exploring Durham city as well as Hamsterley Forest. We self catered with no issues. The WiFi was essential for the smart TV to work, so when the WiFi was knocked off on our last day before we had even left, meant our last impression wasn’t great. If we needed to stay in the area again we would consider returning though."
Home from Home, only 5 minutes drive from Historical Durham center.
White House Cottages
"Lovely little cottage. Very compact but big enough for two people . Very clean and good communication from host prior to arrival. There is nothing in the village but you can find restaurants and bars nearby. I believe a pub is opening there soon which will be good. My only little concern is the bed. It’s a small double and very uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep for two nights and my hubby who can sleep anywhere found it very uncomfortable too. If the bed was changed I’d give it a 10/10."
Durham Riverside Apartments
"This hidden gem is the best apartment I have ever stayed in. The quality of the furniture and furnishings is second to none. The communication from the owners meant we easily found the underground car parking included in the price. The owner was there to meet and greet us. He gave a comprehensive tour of the pristine apartment and outside. A host of goodies were there for us to enjoy. Fresh croissants, bread, individually wrapped quality butter, milk, teas, coffee, hot chocolate, jams, eggs and wine! Overlooking the River Wear, we relaxed on the generous balcony watching the world go by. I could have stayed there forever but we were due at an event at the Cathedral. The apartment is so central. If you are reasonably fit (I’m 71 and could do it!) the shops and cathedral are easily accessible uphill all the way. If not so fit, there are buses and taxis. The owner left booklets and a folder with all necessary information. I was very reluctant to write this review as I’d like to keep it all to myself. Go on, treat yourself. It’s worth it!"
