I know i will arrive London Heathrow late. So I tried to choose a hotel not far from airport to crash out a night before heading to London. I choose Holiday Inn Slough Windsor because I think instead of stay in airport hotel, at least I can go take a look at Windsor castle in the morning - there is no much different between 20 minutes Uber and 12 minutes to most of the airport hotel near Heathrow Airport. In fact I arrived 4 hours later than I should be - checking in after midnight...very smooth. As I am Platinum member of IHG member , I was pre-assigned executive room on 8th floor. Looking inside room, I have to say this room is better than my expectation of Holiday Inn: with Lavazza Coffee Machine, with slipper and all necessary amenities. In the morning I called a Uber to Windsor Castle just take a look. It cost between 7 - 9 pounds one way, about 8 minutes. Hotel to Slough Station, another 8 pound, about 6 minutes. Slough Station to Paddington, 10.8 pounds on GWR , 18 minutes. Overall the 2 hotel staffs I met, all very kind and friendly, everything is very smooth, everything works. It is by far better than a convenient hotel only , it is a very decent hotel and especially if you drive , there is ample car park, and good value to visit London and nearby area.

The Staff were polite..Shout out to Lanieta..she was very accommodating and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Best quality ratio in this area and amazing location, beautifuldistrict with easy access to public transport. Will surely come again!

Although I reviewed this hotel back in June, I thought I would give an update on our last, and definitely final, visit to this hotel. In July we stayed at the Sheraton for one night and parked our car at the hotel for 3 weeks. After midnight, when we had gone to bed, we heard a high powered car being revved and raced around the car park. Yes, someone was using the car park as a race track, using the cars parked there as the edges of the track! Someone else was taking pictures on their mobile phone. We contacted reception, who sent out a security guard and another member of staff. They, however, obviously knew the people racing the car and had a good laugh and joke with them before returning to the hotel, leaving the racers still revving their car and taking photos. I took photos too (attached). My wife was incensed by this total lack of interest from the hotel, and stormed down to reception. One of the people who had gone out to the car was there, plus the duty manager looking rather sheepish. They apologised with a grin on their faces and seemed to think that it was totally acceptable to them that this was going on as the people racing the car were members of staff!!! An incredible attitude. And it was obvious from their reaction that this was not a first time occurrence. Realising that we weren't going to get anywhere with the totally useless members of staff, and as by now the racers had left, we decided to raise the problems with a senior member of staff the following day. A couple of the managers we spoke to on the following day were disgusted at what had happened the previous night. Unfortunately they had already handed in their resignation as they weren't happy with the way the hotel is being run. So decide if you're happy to leave your car at a hotel that condones its staff using the car park as a race track and what damage they could do to your car. Remember, any damage to your car is not the responsibility of the hotel, even if it's their own staff who have caused the damage! Please read the other reviews regarding cars being damaged at this Hotel. I posted a review on the Marriott website and received a very defensive response from the front desk duty manager. She apologised for the fact that staff were racing cars in the car park but didn't seem to really take it seriously. This experience, combined with the non-working air conditioning in the bedrooms, the tvs in the bedrooms that often don't work, the gaffer-taped tatty old carpeting in the hallways, the scruffy pool area that is hardly ever swept clean, the downgraded quality of the Club Lounge and the withdrawal of the Club concierge service seems to be indicative of a company seeking to justify changing the branding of this hotel to one of Marriotts budget brands. However, they're still charging 4 star prices for a hotel that now struggles to give one star service. Shame on you Marriott for ruining a formerly very good quality hotel. I booked this hotel because its close to Legoland and we just wanted somewhere to relax after an exhausting day out. This hotel exceeded our expectations, so much so that we extended our stay. The staff were lovely, rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. I recommend going for the Lego Buffet in the evening, its worth every penny. Everyone on reception was friendly and welcoming but a special mention must go to Melwyn, Food & Beverage Manager. Clearly a professional in his role and an asset to the hotel. He made sure we were looked after during all meals and always came over to say hello. He truly went above and beyond. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

Sixteen of us arrived a couple of weeks ago as part of a wedding party, check in was smooth, a very special mention to ”Grace” on reception a very friendly person that went out of her way in every way for us, always had a smile for everyone A few people mentioned the breakfast being below standard, small plates etc. the plates might have been a bit small, but it did not stop anyone going back up again for a second helping basic yes but plenty of hot and cold food, delicious coffee from a dispenser Not sure if it was us or what? but they ran out of Stella and Becks and were never replenished for the following day pity really as there wasn't much choice of beers Our room was basic with a very comfortable bed with fresh sheets and a nice bathroom with a nice size walk in shower, cleaners do a good job no complaints there Overall, not too bad just basic

It doesn't take much to send your bar staff on a cocktail course and buy a ice crusher to make a margharita. Please don't advertise it if it can't be made. Very expensive too considering it tasted of soap and had big chunks of ice floating in it and a slice of lemon and not lime. I chose to stay for two nights as a destination hotel rather than 'just a hotel near the airport' so I suppose you could label a 'service' hotel but I have felt after being here for one day and one more night to go, it is not a place where people want to create or make relationships as I have felt it being rather a 'no' environment. I have done my best to be friendly but felt a little bit like more of a nuisance for wanting to create more relationships as a solo traveller especially when at 10 staff started to clear breakfast before I was even finished at 10.30 and then looked at a plate I had taken with me to my room as if to say 'you shouldn't be taking that' when it felt too uncomfortable to finish it in the main room. I may be unusual in my longer stay but I have still paid and a good customer and travel and stay in hotels a lot. The price is a good deal but that should still reflect good service. There should also be instructions on how to work the tv as I couldn't and then I met two ladies who had sat in the lounge for 4 hrs because they also couldn't work it so I helped them out. I train staff in friendliness and not saying they weren't but in my opinion, their needs to be a bit more approachability for a hotel near a major London airport with such incredible facilities such as a roof terrace overlooking the runway. It feels a bit like it has been forgotten and just left to be as it is as a very small part of the large Thistle Hotel Chain.

I’ve stayed in many hotels, this one isn’t what it says it is. A 4 star doesnt have cheap coffee in plastic sachets in the room, it would have a pod machine, the room was just average and nothing special, in fact I’ve had better rooms at a premier in at 10x cheaper rates. the spa is a joke, the whirlpool outside bath is the size of a paddling pool and is broken, they have a sauna, well it’s an outdoor shed that’s been converted, all put in a sort of alley way. The breakfast is very poor, the bacon is cheap, it has white gloop on it that is from using cheap brine bacon not dry cured, which is what most luxury hotels use, and it’s undercooked, I complained and they reluctantly cooked some for me. They don’t use local sourced sausages either and they too arnt evenly cooked, uniform shape and out of a large cheap box no doubt. They ask you to use the machine for coffee, a 4 star hotel would have filter coffee, if you ask they will make a pot, but only if you ask. They don’t clean the rooms everyday and I was told at checkin it may be 3 days before they will. The cleaner actually told me they would do it everyday if you asked reception, why didn’t they say that. I didn’t find the staff particularly pleasant the main receptionist man, he looks like Jon Kay off the BBC was never pleasant, on more than one occasion he walked in front of me through the main door and never once held it open so the door close right into me. Yes he did see me because he looked at me as he walked right in front of me. Paying nearly £5000 for 9 days is extortionate and no where near a 4 star hotel, it’s a low 3 at best even with the only view of the river from the bar. Totally disgusted with its low standard , it’s a sad reflection of Windsor which prides itself on being a royal town.

The front desk of the hotel is in the pedestrian street, looking for a long time. Close to the train station and Windsor Castle, convenient transportation and shopping. The hotel is clean, but there is really nothing except bath towels.

It was a good hotel with all the amenities in the hotel. The size of the rooms are pretty small but okay for an individual. best part about the hotel was the location, it is very close to Airport ( you can just hop on the london bus ).
