The George Inn

I’ve stayed at The George a number of times due to it being so close to Windsor for work. It is obvious that a lot of time and money has been invested into the rooms and in the food offer. The staff have always been very good but the small changes that have happened recently have made this the perfect stay for me for work.

Filthy. Room had clearly not been cleaned properly in a long time. Carpet and soft furnishings were dirty. Room is above the kitchen so stiflingly hot. No parking. Breakfast not included. Can’t check in til 4pm. £140 a night - a rip off. Go 50 metres up the road to the Christopher Hotel and you’ll pay circa £40 more but get parking, a clean room, and breakfast.

Kam manager has been absolutely amazing. We went there for Christmas dinner and I have a lot of allergies so there’s a lot of emails going back-and-forth. Nothing must too much her and her staff were amazing. It was absolutely packed on Christmas Day and the staff happy joking. Nothing was too much. The food was amazing. Outstanding 10 out of 10. Yeah was amazing. It made this Christmas memorable. I can’t recommend it early enough yet atmosphere location perfect

A pub full of character, excellent food and a wide range of Windsor & Eton Brewery beers. I stayed three nights in a single room that was completely adequate for my needs, with en suite and a view out over the High Street. The staff were very friendly and I would certainly go back and stay again. Although not the right time of year, they have a very large, partially covered outside seating area. With my set of keys I could come and go whenever I wanted. Currently they don't serve breakfast, but there were two cafes opposite, so no problem.

Great location just over the pedestrian bridge to Windsor. Room was small but comfortable. Nearby Meadow Lanes Car Park was convenient. Rooms are situated just over this popular pub on the High Street. This made for a lot of street noise at all hours of the night not to mention the noise from the repeatedly slamming door in the hallway.

We'd booked a table for noon, most staff hadn't made it to work due to Windsor being gridlocked. None of that is why I'm writing this, we weren't in a rush, that was fine. If you want to order food you go to the bar, if you want more drinks you go to the bar, if you want to get anything you go to the bar...that's ok when the queue isn't 20 minutes! No table service for desserts or more drinks yet plenty of staff. One server said she's ask someone to take our desserts order but all sh did was explain that we had to go a queue. Food was ok but not good enough to offset the queuing regime. Doubt we'll go again.
