Hotels Near Galle Fort - Fishmark Bastion in Galle

Tucked in down Lighthouse Street within the fort at Galle you’ll find the Charleston, and what a find it is! It’s a modern boutique hotel with fantastic rooms and amazing bathrooms. And there’s even a pool! The staff were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast can be taken in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the sea. It’s good and served from a small a la carte menu. The hotel decor is to an exceptionally high standard, reflecting the art deco theme, and it was immaculately clean. As an added bonus the first floor terrace faces west where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the sunset whilst sipping the hotel’s signature cocktails. If you’re looking to stay an exceedingly good hotel within the walls of Galle Fort, I’d highly recommend the Charleston

I arrived at the hotel very early in the afternoon, and I printed the order number (English version) of Ctrip, but it was still delayed for a long time. But we upgraded the room type: sea view room (room 206). The check-in experience was still great. Because the previous nights were reserved for special hotels, I chose Asia Leisure for the last night because it is a new hotel in 2018. It is indeed new and I was not disappointed. Meals: Two restaurants, we ordered food and spent 26,000 rupees, which is still very cost-effective. Breakfast is a cafeteria, and children need to make up the difference. Location: 15 minutes walk from Galle Fort, it is very convenient to go there by tutu for 300-400 rupees. Supporting facilities: The sight of the outdoor swimming pool is great, you can see the sea view and the towering ancient city, because it is located in the air outlet, it is only open until 8 o'clock every night. The types of equipment in the gym on the G floor are average.

We had an excellent stay at Ceylon Olive for three nights in August 2023. The warm welcome you feel continues throughout your stay as the staff are amazing that they take care of you with every little help. We were treated like a part of the family from the arrival and the owner Kumudu invited us to have meals together with his family, which was a great experience. The food was amazing with authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. We felt that the hotel was a hidden gem in Galle, with five-minute Tuk Tuk drive away from Unesco world Heritage site of Dutch Fort and stunning Unawatuna beach. Ceylon olive was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at. The pool, outdoor shower, stunning rooms, and peaceful environment were among the best. My review, of course, will not be about this hotel, but about the hotel of this chain, Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa. We booked a room at the Thaproban Beach House Hotel, when we came to check in, it turned out that our reservation at this place was missing, and we had a reservation at the Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa. Thanks to the Trip.com team for helping us understand and resolve issues. And the Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa turned out to be much better than the Thaproban Beach House. True, it is not on the beach, but the beach is 5-7 minutes away. The hotel is super, all the amenities, large rooms overlooking the ocean. Very tasty breakfasts, 2 swimming pools on site, one with salt water. In general, I highly recommend the hotel. We really liked it. And we never regretted that we moved into it.

I booked a bungalow at Sergeant House for a 2-day stay in July for me and my family during our visit to Sri Lanka. This experience was very different from staying at regular star hotels. Sergeant House is an old mansion that has been renovated to include modern facilities while preserving its original look and feel. The rooms were very spacious. The one I booked had three bedrooms, and the master bedroom featured an outdoor bathroom. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was the food—it's amazing, and hats off to the chef! I ordered lunch off the menu because I wanted to try authentic Sri Lankan food, and the chef arranged it for us. The taste was so satisfying that I ordered it again for the next day’s lunch. If you want to have a massage, you don’t need to go out as it's available on the property in a very relaxing environment. I did enjoy it and highly recommend giving it a try. Additionally, Sergeant House has a private beach, which, although not beachfront, is easily accessible by crossing the road. We spent a good three hours there, although we didn't swim as the sea was rough. The 24-hour pool was another great feature—we had a night swim, and it was a fantastic experience. Overall, Sergeant House is beautiful and provides a unique and wonderful stay. I will surely be back when I return to Sri Lanka. Thank you for taking care of us during our stay!

We recently stayed 11 days at this hotel and it did not disappoint. All of the members of staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The decor of the hotel is lovely, full of character and immaculately clean. We had a ground floor suite which was stunning. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes and all the meals that we had were excellent. After visiting other hotels in the area we definitely felt that we had made the right choice. Fantastic for a relaxing holiday for all of the family! My favorite hotel in Sri Lanka, super sea view room, the view is super beautiful! It's very pleasant to walk on the beach in the morning and evening. The swimming pool is also great. There are many chipmunks on the lawn, and the children are so happy. Half board The breakfast and dinner buffets are also very good, and you can see that they are carefully prepared. The staff are very nice, and the elephants folded with towels are so cute 😍

Shinagawa Beach was a delightful escape for our family. The serene environment, coupled with pristine beaches, provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The staff's hospitality was remarkable; they made sure every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We particularly loved the variety of activities available, from lounging by the beach to exploring nearby attractions. The food at the on-site restaurant was delicious, offering a mix of local and international cuisine. Overall, it was a memorable family vacation that we would love to repeat.
