I upgraded the room to the store, two beds, and it cost $28. This time I stayed at three hotels that paid for the store, which are one or two hundred higher than the online price, and it is better to pay the online payment. B&B is generally not good, but it is more appropriate to bargain in the off-season. This hotel is the most expensive hotel I have stayed in for the past few days. It costs 1100 RMB a night. It is more expensive than Marriott and the Heritage Hotel. The bathing water in the room is not hot. I don’t know if it is expensive in the ancient city.
This was the second stop on this island, and we were very lucky with the choice of this Hotel. A wonderful room, everything is thought out and done with taste.Comfortable. We were very warmly welcomed here. The people was very helpful and unobtrusively helped us. incomparable breakfasts, specially selected for you. A hospitable place that we didn't want to leave and stayed here for a while longer. we highly recommend visiting this hospitable and kind people
The infinity pool of Bawa architecture is a wonderful hotel. Many of the customers seemed to be from Sri Lanka. There were many people like honeymooners, but there were surprisingly many families and families.
Although the hotel was a little old, it was solidly built and there was no problem with the plumbing.
Service outside the restaurant was very good. The restaurant seems to take more than 30 minutes to bring out what you ordered at lunch. And it was a little cold.
Coffee for breakfast also took quite a while to come out. Housekeeping and receptionists were very nice.

We had the most remarkable honeymoon at Saman Villas. I was back after 3 years and the property is impeccably maintained and after a major upgrade, which I could tell from the moment I stepped in. New furniture, advance lighting, brand new decor, the suites had a lovely facelift too, especially the walking closet & bathroom with indoor shower cubicle, great lighting & full mirror in the dressing room, not missing out it’s old world charms like the outdoor tub. We loved how easy & convenient it was, basically just a flick of a button to get anything. The views are next to none! I’m always lost for words to describe such majestic ocean views surrounding us from every direction. The food was fantastic! Every meal we had was absolutely delicious. All home grown, fresh ingredients. We especially loved the Sri Lankan food which was surprising as we are locals but it was different, like an elevated version of Sri Lankan flavours. The staff are really the best! After all the difficulties Sri Lankan tourism has faced since 2019, it was so refreshing to be welcomed by the same familiar faces, eager to make our stay unforgettable. Special mention to Dinushi & the GM Wester Feltman for spoiling us. Every staff member we met was equally friendly & hospitable as if it’s ingrained in their DNA. We can’t recommend Jetwing Saman Villas enough. It truly is a special place. Thank you so much for the magical & joyful stay!

Loved this place, it has a lot of personality. There are nicer but more expensive places in Galle, and there are cheaper and more run down places. This is the Goldilocks choice. It's a lovely little hotel with a few broken things in every room. In the hot off season, the shared areas are like sitting in a sauna, but there's a little garden pool to cool off in. The perfect walking distance to the fort, short eats, and every morning a different Sri Lankan breakfast. Proper tea service, small but attentive staff. The manager is so helpful, I was here for three things, touring Galle, a unique part of Sri Lanka, locating and visiting some locations where my late father grew up and went to college, and a bit of a religious pilgrimage. The manager, who speaks 5 languages, was ever so helpful in all three aspects of my visit. Up the hill are two more elegant hotels for dinner, down the hill are some really cheap local places to eat, don't miss lunch at the Ministry of Agriculture/ ministry of education canteen. Okay for an overnight, but I would recommend this one of a kind hotel for a few days stay. Especially in the off-season.
A week after the explosion in Sri Lanka, it was discovered that this was a Muslim hotel when the gunmen inspected the vehicles in front of the door and the restaurant on the first floor. But the real stay is very good, comfortable and convenient. The bathroom lighting is designed with ingenuity. The most heartfelt thing is to check out and go out for a long time. The little brother in the hotel wearing a robe hit a tuk to catch up and return me to the balcony to charge. Mobile phone, thank you very much!
We just had a fantastic and relaxing 4-day stay at Ahu Bay after a busy 10-day tour of Sri Lanka. We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Our room was lovely, and we constantly had the balcony doors open to hear the sea outside. The food was spectacular - a real highlight. If you don't mind going in up to your elbows (I don't), the whole lagoon crab was flippin' amazing. The perfect little infinity pool next to the sea helped us cool off after some hard lounging and cocktail consumption (try a RaRa cocktail - yummy!) The beach was alive with hermit crabs and covered in shells. If I could click my fingers and go back there, I'd be on my way back right now! We felt really spoiled.
We stayed as a family of four in the Ginger suite. Such comfortable beds, strong a/c, food was amazing and the pool was spotlessly clean and refreshing. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, we had a wonderful stay here. The Fort is tiny so everything is only a 5-10 minute walk, so it was lovely to walk around the shops, cafes and the Ramparts, then come back to the hotel for a refreshing dip in the pool. We stayed for 3 nights, only left the Fort in 1 day to go a turtle hatchery, and got an Uber there which was very easy. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Our time at the Charleston Hotel in Galle was pure magic. This retreat near the ocean is the perfect blend of heritage and comfort, offering relaxation, joy, and a touch of elegance that makes every moment memorable. The team greeted us with warmth and genuine care. When my booking turned out to be for a different room, they arranged an upgrade the very next day to one with a stunning sea view. As a delightful surprise, they also offered complimentary laundry service, which felt like a gift after a week of traveling. Few things compare to the simple joy of freshly laundered clothes during a holiday. I still cannot figure out how they guessed my love for small chocolate balls with coconut shavings, but they did. When I shared my enthusiasm for them, they brought more, as if joyfully determined to keep me delighted. Their thoughtfulness truly shines in the smallest gestures. The rooms provide a haven of tranquility with their plush bedding, tasteful decor, and thoughtful touches. Everything feels designed to make you linger just a little longer. The breakfast spread is a feast for anyone craving a Western start to the day, served with impeccable attention and care. Their team also offers seamless communication via WhatsApp, sharing tips that made exploring Galle both easy and enjoyable. Charleston Hotel is a memory waiting to be made. For elegance, care, and a dash of culinary delight, this is the place to treat yourself. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself later. Thank you Ivo and especially Nethmi.

JJIANLINGThe house is very high-class and simple, and the natural ecological environment makes people feel comfortable. Just prepare the anti-mosquito liquid and close the door easily. The overall design of the house designed by the landlord is artistic and the details are attentive, clean and refreshing, especially the open open-air bathroom is impressive! After six days of fatigue, I took a super refreshing bath, refreshing! The landlord patiently and meticulously asked each of us about our breakfast preferences, and enjoyed a very rich and delicious breakfast by the blue swimming pool and the monkey swinging tree! Everyone even has a carefully fried double egg! Great stay experience!
WWENXIAHikkaduwa Saffron Hotel was the first hotel on our trip, so I took a lot of thoughts when choosing it. Those who like antique hotels, please come, the cabinet bed, Luohan bed desk, meet all your requirements for retro quality, full of ancient flavor. However, modern washing and air-conditioning facilities will not make you feel that life is inconvenient, and we chose the second floor room, which is super large and has a good view. When we wanted to change to a double bed, we added a single bed for free without saying anything, so we had a good rest.
The service of the hotel is very good, we go snorkeling after checking out, and we can go back to the hotel to take a shower.
The disadvantage is that the price is small and expensive.
GGuest UserAgnus Unawatuna is a little up into the hills, but the trip up is so worth it. The place is serene and the view is breathtaking; you get a top-down view of the ocean in all its glory, and you can even enjoy the view of the famous Galle Fort and Lighthouse from a distance. Service and amenities are amazing, and facilities are modern. Rooms are clean and well-equipped. It was a wonderful experience and the perfect place for a personal retreat! Would definitely come again if I have the chance, and have already recommended this place to some friends! Thank you!
GGuest UserOverall, it was an enjoyable stay although in some respects it was inferior to other hotels I stayed in on the holiday. The pools were great and so was the view from the room. The room itself was alright - quite basic but sufficient. We did have problems with a leak in the ceiling which was promptly addressed by staff but still a little annoying. In general the staff were lovely: in particular Chamindu in the restaurant, a security guard who called me and my partner over to show us turtles on the beach (sorry, can't remember his name) and the guy working the sunloungers at the lower pool. The weakest part was probably the food. It wasn't bad exactly, it was just worse than the food in all the other hotels I stayed in.
If you’re someone who loves waking up to the sound of waves and breathtaking ocean views, this hotel is a dream come true. The moment you step into the property, you’re greeted with a calm and serene atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a relaxing stay. The highlight, without a doubt, is the unobstructed ocean view from almost every corner of the hotel, whether it’s from your room, the pool, or the dining areas. Despite offering all the luxuries and amenities you’d expect from a 5-star hotel, the price is surprisingly affordable. You get a premium experience without the hefty price tag that’s usually associated with such high-end resorts. The rooms are spacious, modern, and well-equipped, with large windows that let you soak in the beauty of the ocean. The staff is incredibly attentive and go out of their way to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Beyond just the views, the hotel offers excellent facilities including a world-class spa, a well-maintained pool, and various dining options that serve delicious food. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or enjoying a meal with the ocean as your backdrop, the hotel provides a luxurious yet laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel pampered throughout your stay. For those looking for a balance between luxury, comfort, and affordability, this 5-star hotel delivers on all fronts. It’s a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the beauty of the ocean and is looking for a memorable getaway without breaking the bank.
Since our planned accommodation was out of the question at short notice, we found the Cozy Sea View Inn via ************ and had our tuk tuk driver drop us off there. We received a warm welcome and were able to choose one after viewing two rooms. We chose one on the ground floor with a small terrace. The room was very spacious, clean, well equipped and smelled very good. There was a fitness studio right next to our room, which can be used by hotel guests. We didn't take advantage of this, but we still thought it was a great opportunity. The manager Rajesh was very friendly and helpful. When he found out that we wanted to travel further to Unawatuna, he offered to take us with him since one of his drivers had to go that direction anyway. The location of the hotel, on a side street off the main street, was also ideal for us. The beach was within a few minutes' walk, as was a huge selection of restaurants and other shopping opportunities. We were really happy about our spontaneous stroke of luck and would love to come back.
MMichael8787The advantages of the hotel are a very good breakfast and dinner. Buffet. Very abundant. There are both seafood and local cuisine. Delicious.
I would also like to note the traditional Marriott chain quality of bed. I slept great on it.
The beach in this place is excellent. You can swim safely - the waves are not so strong. Everything is very picturesque if you go left and right.
Now about the disadvantages. Unfortunately, there are more of them. The staff are very unpolite, you felt like you were not welcome here, they were doing you a favor. Fake smiles. On the day of check-out, a little after 12, for a few minutes the staff began knocking on the door and demanding to vacate the room. Is this worthy of such a hotel chain?
When I tried to pay at the reception with a Union Pay card, the staff said that the terminal for Russian cards did not work. Although, in other places and hotels in Sri Lanka, everything worked without problems and it was possible to pay everywhere. I explain this behavior by lack of customer focus, which, again, is very strange for a hotel of such a chain as Marriott and for the service.
I also want to note that this hotel did not have orthopedic pillows or any other pillows - when I tried to find out about this possibility, I was rudely told that there were no other pillows and that was all. In general, for the staff, service and their attitude - a big minus and a bad rating
GGuest UserThe gold bubble was a fantastic place to stay. I was a little worried traveling by myself to Sri Lanka for the first time but the staff at Gold Bubble put me at ease. Upon arrival, I was given one of the staff's what's app numbers, and was able to text any time with any questions I had. They were very attentive and always asked what I was up to for the day. It felt like having 2 brothers help me out on my trip. They served a lovely breakfast every day with fresh fruit, toast, an egg and coffee. Gold Bubble is a comfortable hotel with a 5 star staff. I felt comfortable, it was clean, and I felt safe during my stay. I would book again next time. If you are looking to book a taxi from Colombo to Ahangama add Damith to your WhatsApp and set up a taxi ride with him, he is great +94 77 657 6457
OOmindaI booked this hotel for a friend for one night and the room was good and quite large. However, the food quality was really disappointing. The food served was of very low quality and tasted terrible. It was a let down, especially since the room was otherwise quite nice.
While this is a decent place to stay for the room quality, I would strongly recommend against purchasing any food on-site. The food was so bad that it overshadowed the positive aspects of the hotel stay. The hotel management should look into improving the quality of the food offerings to provide a more well-rounded guest experience. Until the food issues are addressed, I would advise travelers to avoid dining at this hotel and to seek out other dining options nearby instead.
JJayathI recently stayed at this property and had an incredibly relaxing experience. The atmosphere is very peaceful, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The room itself is spacious, offering a large, private area both inside and around it—perfect for unwinding or enjoying some quiet time outdoors. The washroom was spotless and well-maintained, with everything tidy and in place. One of the highlights was the beautiful view early in the morning from the room—waking up to such a serene sight truly made the stay memorable. Highly recommend for anyone seeking peace, comfort, and a bit of natural beauty!
