"The hotel is extremely close to all the main attractions and just a 5-minute walk from Southgate Shopping Centre. For those driving, discounted on-site parking is available; overnight parking was around £10 after a £6 discount. The staff are friendly and attentive, often checking in to ensure guests are satisfied. Highly recommended for a stay in Bath!"

"I stayed at The Z Hotel Bath for a short city break and was genuinely impressed. The location couldn’t be better—right in the centre of Bath, just minutes from the Roman Baths, shops, and restaurants. Everything was walkable, which made exploring super easy. The room was compact but cleverly designed, clean, and modern. I had a windowless room, which I initially wasn’t sure about, but it turned out to be quiet and great for sleeping. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with a good shower. One of the highlights was the complimentary cheese and wine served in the evening—such a lovely touch and not something you’d expect at this price point. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience feel really welcoming. If you’re looking for a stylish, no-fuss place to stay in Bath with a great central location and thoughtful extras, I highly recommend The Z Hotel. I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in town!"

"Stayed for one night and couldn’t fault the location – literally a couple of minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths, Pump Rooms and everything else in the centre. Perfect for exploring Bath on foot. The hotel itself is lovely: modern, spotless, with fantastic facilities. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful – I sent a message via feedback email for additional biscuits to find they had read the email and dropped them off. They clearly read and act on feedback, which makes a big difference. Only downsides: the pillows are thick and puffy – if you prefer flatter pillows it’s worth requesting in advance. Also, parking is the typical city-centre headache: no on-site spaces, so you’re directed to the nearest public car park about 5-7 minutes’ walk away. Dropping bags means parking temporarily, unloading, then moving the car – and it added roughly £20 per day to the stay. Overall, despite the pillow and parking niggles, I’d happily stay again. Excellent hotel in a perfect spot – just be aware of those two small drawbacks if they’d bother you. Highly recommended overall!"

"We stayed at the Lansdowne Grove during our recent trip to Bath Christmas Market . This hotel is very comfortable , warm and welcoming . We loved the location it was easy to get into the centre but be warned its a very steep climb back up to . The beds are extremely comfortable although the pillows not so much . Our room had everything you could possibly need , the shower was amazing and loads of hot water .There was loads of options for breakfast too overall good value for money and we will definitely be back ."

"Indeed a great location, a little walk to down town! Staff were attentive, which is surprising, as they are very busy. Always, wait moment and I’ll get back to you or I’ll check!! Breakfast buffet hit the spot, everything you need to start the day, fresh! There are peak times of course so be aware, especially if you have appointments or trips… always the way (not staffs problem or issue) but guests do come together… It’s the way of the world that’s nothing is a bargain these days, but have to say it wasn’t unreasonable, including breakfast for four. Room was tight for four of us,but managed as out most of the day, always a challenge traveling with children, keeping budget and not paying for two rooms. The most disappointing thing about the property (not in the hotel’s hands) is the car parking…. Quite disturbing to think with the hotels vouchers for 50% off it’s still £50 a day, ridiculous, just a hard pill to swallow…. I do feel for the staff as they have to deal with irate guest’s when it’s clearly not in their hands…. Would be happy to return, but either no car or find a better option"

"The room was a delightful surprise – vibrant, stylish, clean, and comfortable. The hotel's location is super convenient for both the train station and local attractions. Inside the room, there were complimentary drinks, coffee, and tea. What was especially unexpected and helpful was finding an iron, which was perfect for smoothing out my wrinkled dress. Of course, the hotel isn't without its quirks; being an older building, getting to the room felt a bit like navigating a maze of twists and turns, and the soundproofing could be better. However, getting a good night's sleep was ultimately what mattered. Plus, ironing my clothes in the morning with the sunlight streaming through the window was quite a pleasant experience."

"5 minutes walk to the center. The room was clean and spacious. I stayed in the Chinese room right in front of the stairs on the first floor... The room was big and nice, but I could hear all the noise outside. I didn't pay much attention to the parking lot view, but the silhouette of the shower and toilet can be seen from the parking lot. I was too lazy to move rooms, so I asked for a big towel to cover the window. I think this part needs to be improved. Also, there is a £10 parking fee... I wish they didn't charge it in the off season."

"You can see the city on a small hill, the environment is good, the soundproofing of the room is average, the kitchen has a pot but no stove. Room 2 is on a super steep staircase, the soundproofing and heat preservation of the room are average, and the heating is broken. I fixed it myself and it was barely warm on the second night. The front desk and staff are very friendly and solve the problem in time. But I may not stay again. I can stay in Premier Inn for a little more money."

AAnikeBathen House is simply phenomenal from the mixture of old and modern aesthetic that screams class, elegance and luxury to the squeaky clean, serene environment and the oh so polite staff that were always available to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was such a remarkable experience and I would definitely go back again. I absolutely loved my stay at Bathen House and I swill always recommend. It was the best Easter Holiday and Experience.

GGuest UserCentral location helps to overcome the cramped feeling staying in the annexe. The car was parked at the other end of town and drop off was difficult to say the least but it is what it is. I had no reason whatsoever to check out the main building reception, breakfast area perhaps a bar and lounge area too because nothing pointed me there! So generally, it was a room in a loft space built to an ”average” measure. I never like shower cubicles where I tend to bang elbows and worry about breaking something when I drop the soap. Breakfast price was horrendous so no inclination to walk in on the hop to check it out for the 2 nights stayed. I felt detached, cramped and in a bed-sit like accommodation. It is what it is.

ZZhanqianyingSmall luxury hotel I feel relieved to see that it is SLH, but it is unusually understaffed. From check-in to dining in the restaurant, you have to wait, wait, wait. If you don’t understand English, please don’t come. Most of the employees look like college students who work part-time and cannot solve the problem alone. question. The restaurant and bar are good, the room is very big, you need to take the stairs to the first floor, and the bathroom is half a floor up. The swimming pool is small and there are many people. There is a sauna, but it was useless because the temperature was 30 degrees on the day of arrival. Charging the tram is also very funny. It took a long time to fully charge it.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very good located in the city center but due to several bars nearby, very noisy at night, every night you have to bring earplugs to fall asleep. The noise does not stop until about two or three o'clock.Water for shower in the washroom The pressure is very low, it will be easy to get cold if you take a shower in winter. The washing machine does not have a drying function, so the chance of using it is not high.

SShriya PopatThe staff were really friendly and sweet! The location is good about 10-15mins walk into central town. Our room was well equipped with a dyson hair dryer. The breakfast was also really lovely. The toilet in the room we stayed in was in a little bit of an awkward position or else this would have recieved 5 stars!

The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. LLiam and JennyAttended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. GGuest UserPositives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies. Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.

Aan618The location is far away, but there are buses leaving the center within a few minutes' walk. The room is quite big and unique. There is also a living room with a sofa. The receptionist was nice. After a night out, I called an uber on my way back.
