Have returned from a 1 night stay at Hotel Indigo, booked for us by a family member so had done little research on the hotel, we arrived to a really friendly reception and were shown to our room 531. We were so impressed with the room and facilities, the entire place was completely spotless, comfortable beds, ample space and storage options, excellent lighting. The shower was divine! Reception phoned us to check everything was ok shortly after check in which was a nice touch and booked us in for breakfast at the hotels restaurant (The Elder) for the next morning at a time that suited us. Food and drinks at the elder were fantastic although a little pricey but that’s to be expected in Bath, however we didn’t mind the price given the excellent service received. Very close to city centre and all tourist attractions and good options of restaurants and bars all within a short walking distance. I really feel like I need to stress just how clean this entire hotel was, literally spotless in the room and all communal areas, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Nothing was too much to ask, all staff we encountered were more than friendly and made us feel welcome. We would definitely return to this hotel if in Bath again. Fantastic service all round. Thank you

It takes 10-12 mins to walk from the station, which is not good for those have luggages. The hotel is nice and convenient while the staff are all very nice. Only one of the lift is broken during our stay which cause certain inconvenience. Anyway, it is a good choice for family trip, the family suit is big enough for 4 people and very comfortable.

We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.

Its meant to be a luxury-ish short weekend getaways before my job starts as my partner can't take a long leave. The delux double room is a huge disappointmemt.Understably, it is a very premium location and other guest probably pay a lot more. However, I wouldn't think of paying over £300 to get a room feeling like a old day servant's room. Being placed at the roof extension room with the view mostly blocked, the floor makes the typical old wooden cracking noise as we walk. The curtain, carpet and bathroom are not in the best condition. The glass on top of the table and desk are not well fitted. Another thing is that, without any previous notice, the spa closed foe maintenance the morning we leave. The fake plants make it look less luxury than its branded. The plus side, it is kind of inclusive which the spa pool, gym and breakfast are included. The breakfast is quite nice if you like English breakfast or they have some basic buffet.

Small luxury hotel I feel relieved to see that it is SLH, but it is unusually understaffed. From check-in to dining in the restaurant, you have to wait, wait, wait. If you don’t understand English, please don’t come. Most of the employees look like college students who work part-time and cannot solve the problem alone. question. The restaurant and bar are good, the room is very big, you need to take the stairs to the first floor, and the bathroom is half a floor up. The swimming pool is small and there are many people. There is a sauna, but it was useless because the temperature was 30 degrees on the day of arrival. Charging the tram is also very funny. It took a long time to fully charge it.

Sadly my experience at the spa, which is a lovely venue, was very poor. The therapist was a beginner at best, had no idea how to massage, either it was like being slapped with a wet fish or he was digging his elbows in so hard it was agony. I suspect I was given the trainee because I was foreign and they knew he wasn't skilled. After the facial, my skin was that dry, it was like sandpaper had been rubbed all over it and it was burning red and blotchy. I returned to him to say please give me something to ease this awful mess and he had no idea what to do. When I complained, they have basically said bad luck, come back. You would have to be kidding! I attended the Thermae Spa in Bath the same week and what a difference - totally superior treatment and the staff there were amazing and it was half the price! While the Gainsborough is a beautiful hotel, don't waste money on treatments as they don't know what they are doing.

The suite was upgraded to a family suite. Very British country hotel, I didn't expect its restaurant to be Rossete three stars, no wonder the breakfast was better than the Savoy Hotel in London. After eating dinner, it was unexpectedly good, and the bread was unique. The hotel's garden is also a natural English garden, which is the kind of small mess that has taken a lot of thought. In addition, the cookies sent every day are so delicious that they become my daily thoughts.

AAnikeBathen House is simply phenomenal from the mixture of old and modern aesthetic that screams class, elegance and luxury to the squeaky clean, serene environment and the oh so polite staff that were always available to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was such a remarkable experience and I would definitely go back again. I absolutely loved my stay at Bathen House and I swill always recommend. It was the best Easter Holiday and Experience.

SSkyshanghaiSumptuous would be the word to describe this hotel. From the lobby to the room to the free snacks pantry, everything is sumptuous. The room we booked is absolutely huge with high ceilings and large windows. The bed and bedding is super super comfortable and we slept really well. The bathroom is nice with a big tub. Location is also excellent, minutes from downtown, the bridge and Roman baths. Looking forward to staying here again.

GGuest UserJust returned from a 2 night stay and the hotel was spot on ! I had to ring the evening before as I had booked the wrong date, Sam was super helpful and continued to be so when we checked in the following day and he was on reception, greeted me as a gold member . He had a room ready and offered an early check in, and even accommodated ensuring I had a quiet room. Breakfast was better than expected considering it was included, and there were plenty of extra tea bags and coffee sachets by the lifts if you needed more for your room. Staff were friendly and room was basic but comfortable - as advertised ! Big thanks to Sam, as this trip could have started very differently ….. Will definitely work myself back to platinum with IHG now. :-)

GGuest UserAt first check-in, staff said my booking’s payment was failed, I showed my booking confirmation with clearly stated payment successful, then he printed a confirmation for me to sign but I found that’s another one’s booking… totally another name… The 2nd print out was just showing my name without another personal information and I was told it’s okay to sign… Once I entered my room, there’s no bath tub, I called the concierge and claimed that when I booked this room type, photo clearly showed there’s bath tub and that’s why I chose this more expensive room type, staff just told me only Superior King room type offered bath tub… When I tried to take a shower, there’s no shower gel & face tissue in the toilet… what a big surprise that a so called 4 stars hotel could provide such service standard… I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone going to BATH for a visit… And what’s more, this is my Birthday trip with more than 3 hrs drive from the North, they really gave me a BIG surprise!!

AAnonymous UserI was surprised to have booked an authentic British-style hotel with a history of more than 200 years. Clean, tidy, bright and elegant, the quilt is warm and the heating is sufficient. I ordered breakfast included. Breakfast is very formally ordered from the menu. It is worth more than 20 pounds and is very delicious. I think the price/performance ratio is high. The hotel is very close to the Royal Crescent, but there is a long slope. It is a bit difficult to carry suitcases with you. It is good if you have a car.

小源kwThe hotel service is first-rate, the front desk staff is super nice, the lady will chat with you by the way, if necessary, a cup of tea and coffee will be made during the waiting time, especially sweet. I was worried about the room’s small and specially set standard room. When I entered the room, I felt that the space was quite large. We brought two 28-inch boxes and there was no problem at all. We ordered the main course for breakfast according to the menu. The buffet cakes were very authentic. The style, Egg Benedict is very good, but don’t try blood pudding lightly. I am not used to it no matter how many times I eat it. Bath is very small and all attractions can be reached on foot. The hotel is 7-8 minutes walk from the Roman baths, bath abbey is opposite the baths, and the famous thermae bath spa is 3 minutes away from abbey. The house of Jane Austen and the fashion meseum are on the same road, even the farthest The Royal Crescent is only a 15-minute walk away. It should be noted that the check-in time is after 3 pm and check-out before 11 am. Although the time is a bit tight, this service is really the best in the English-style hotel I have ever stayed in. When we put down the suitcase and go When we turn to the city, we have already put it in the room when we come back. When we check out, we will chat with the young lady at the front desk. Not only will I give you travel suggestions but also recommend the hotel to you, we talked about our trips, no I feel that I am staying in a hotel, it is very warm, highly recommended😉

MmomononoBath Abbey Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Property I booked this hotel in Bath through trip.com. I took advantage of two promotions on the platform: a £5.99 railcard purchase and £5 off train tickets, both requiring booking a European hotel within 26 days through trip.com. Considering that the official website’s prices were quite similar, I went with the trip.com booking. I reserved a cozy room for 1 adult without breakfast for £113. Money-saving tip: I used TopCashback to access trip.com, earning $7.67 cashback for this booking. After I checked out, trip.com triggered an immediate discount of £10.46, which I applied to my next train ticket purchase. ❤️ Third-party Marriott members get perks, too! This hotel falls under the Marriott Tribute Portfolio, embracing a boutique hotel approach. The entire establishment dates back to 1739, boasting a historic exterior. It’s conveniently situated just about 3 minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths and across from Sally Lunn’s. With my Marriott Platinum Card, even with a third-party reservation, the hotel upgraded us to a larger ground floor room facing the street after matching our account, but it’s not advisable due to potential noise. They also offered complimentary à la carte breakfast. Breakfast slots had to be reserved during check-in, and we chose a table at 10 AM. The breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant had a charming and lovely atmosphere. The experience was excellent (the best things are free!). Unfortunately, I don’t have space for more photos, but I’ll post one of the restaurant later. The room was quite small, designed in a modern British style, with a movie-themed decor according to the posters on the wall. All the amenities were provided, with local brand toiletries available for purchase at the front desk for £25 for two bottles. They were decent, but nothing extraordinary to consider bringing back home. The minibar had coffee, various teas, semi-skimmed milk packets, and biscuits. The bottled still water was in an aesthetically pleasing canned form. 🌟 There’s an Elemis sleep kit on the bedside: temple balm/sleep mist/eye cream, placed over a hotel postcard, looking quite exquisite. The bed was very comfortable. ❌ However, there were a few drawbacks to this place… a bit unnerving… I’m not sure if I just had bad luck. The hotel corridors were somewhat confusing, and I accidentally opened the wrong room door once using my own room card. Strangely, the next day around ten o’clock, while I was in the bathroom and my son was on the bed, despite securing the latch on our door, someone managed to open it slightly, presumably seeing my son on the bed, and then closed the door. Perhaps it was a housekeeping staff member wanting to clean the room? Regardless, it felt quite odd… a little unsettling, to be honest

GGuest UserPositives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies. Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.
