The photos don’t do it justice as you can’t communicate how peaceful it is, how wonderful the staff were, how amazing the whole place is and how great the food is. We stayed one night from the UK and wished we could have stayed longer! From the greeting, all through the stay and to when we left every staff member was kind, helpful, friendly and the peacefulness of the place even reflected in the staff! They were very welcoming to the children; one of which described it as like being at home - (the dog and cats who lived there helped!) The whole place was perfectly clean. We all loved it and would stay again if we ever came back.

The Sun house is a truely authentic Sri Lankan Experience, the rooms were thoughtfully appointed in a traditional artisan manner. We were luckly enough to be staying in a suite with a beautiful jungle view complete with a family of jovial monkeys happily going about their day for our enjoyment from our open room balcony. After a refreshing swim in the boutique pool we enjoyed a delicious, fresh and exotic breakfast including juice tonics and first class coffee to kick start the day. Dinner includes many traditional options and the freshest seafood, followed by delicious cocktails and desserts to complete a full days travel. The old building has been beautifully restored to its former glory as the manor of a late spice merchant at the turn of the century. Michael and our hosts were more than accomodating even taking the time to place us in a romantic couples villa at a respectable distance from the children! We loved our stay !

The best place to stay in Galle. I only stayed here for 3 nights but I would love to call this place ‘a home.’ The place is cozy,the room is big and clean. Breakfast was lovely and prepared by Iflal,a manager. Swimming pool is cool. Located very near to Dutch Galle Fort. Near fruit market and local stores. You may take a tuk tuk or even asked a hotel to arrange everything for you. Could not thanks enough for mr. Iflal and his team. They made my stay was so comfortable and I feel safe like home. (I am a female solo traveler) but I really sleep safe and sound in this villa. Whenever you need helps,the staff are there for you and they really gives you the best solution. Feel like home ;) and will definitely go back there again.

camera grande e confortevole tutto sommato. L'aria condizionata si paga a parte, noi abbiamo usato solo la pala, che tutto sommato faceva il suo dovere. L'unica pecca è non poter aprire la finestra. La colazione si paga a parte, ma l'ultimo giorno ci è stata offerta. Il personale è davvero gentile e fa il massimo per farti sentire a casa. posizione accanto a stazione di bus e treni, comoda per arrivare e andare via. Per il centro storico devi camminare una decina di minuti. I ristoranti accanto al posto sono tutti molto più economici e local rispetto al centro. Prezzo giustissimo, anzi basso. Siamo stati bene

We visited during off-season, so there were very few other guests. The first morning we had an unusual ”set” breakfast, which was understandable as no buffet was offered when there were so few guests. Water pressure/temperature was unstable and there was a weird pulsating noise in the bathroom. On the positive side, the staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. It's a lovely estate in absolute terms and stunning in relative terms. Very near the trendy fort area, which is worth a visit. Overall pleased.

Departed for Sri Lanka on September 28, 2023, and checked into the Amangalla Hotel in Galle Fort. It was the sixth Aman hotel to check in. It felt great. Amangalla was built in the 17th century. It was formerly a military command in the Netherlands. It later became the first hotel in Sri Lanka. It was acquired by the Aman Group in 1995. The hotel is not big, but it is well-equipped with swimming pools, massage pools, yoga rooms, etc. , you can experience local shaving services and foot massages. Amangalla is the smallest Aman I have ever stayed in. It is in the middle of the ancient city of Galle and a 10-minute walk from the lighthouse. The surrounding area is very convenient for eating, drinking and entertainment. There is the Tuna and the Crab restaurant, which is a brother restaurant of the one-Michelin-star restaurant in Colombo. If you have enough money, you can try it. Be sure to choose his tea plantation tour, which will also take you to see the sea turtle hatching base and stilt fishing. It was very interesting. Although I fell off and stepped on a rock while fishing on stilts and was injured, I gained interesting photos and a rare life experience. The ancient city of Galle is also worth visiting. Amangalla can arrange cars and tour guides. The hotel is right in the center of the ancient city. The location is good and it is very convenient to go everywhere. Although I fell into the sea while fishing on stilts and cut my feet. All in all, it was still a very interesting experience. The two Amans in Sri Lanka are different from the ones we stayed in before. They are far away from Colombo and do not provide free airport pick-up services. The airport pick-up fee for the five of us was about US$400 in a large amanganla. It should be noted that if two Aman activities are booked for consecutive days, they generally need to be booked from the official website, not Ctrip agents.

Clean, good service, beautiful environment, very convenient to travel, just near the ancient city new gate and bell tower, watching the sunrise and sunset, swimming, going to the bus station train station can walk, the price in the location of the fortress is very conscience! Recommended! I stayed for six nights in total and liked Galle very much! I will stay here next time!

We stayed couple of nights in this hotel with my family Very nice hotel situated in very good location.The hotel amenities are very good,,attached bathrooms,air conditioning,hot water,,,very large rooms,,the staffs are kind and helpful.Have car parking,,breakfast available on request.The beds are comfortable and clean.Have nets to protect you from Mosquitoes,,but I didn’t find any mosquito Or insects in the entire hotel.
