The Galmont Hotel & Spa

Nice hotel. We had a family room which was grand for 2 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of space. The rooms though are a little old and run down. Location is fine, less than 5 mins from Eyre square. Breakfast was good and the staff were very nice. As I mentioned the hotel rooms need an update.
Connemara Coast Hotel

What a lovely location, a gorgeous hotel and the swimming pool was great with the added bonus of an outside hot tub overlooking the sea. My room was 631 with a large king bed, desks, adequate bathroom with bath and shower, seats with table, desk and TV and all the usual facilities in a hotel room. No sockets by the bed though which is something all hotels need to have now but that was the only criticism of the room. Staff where lovely, helpful and friendly although I give 4 stars as check-in didnt happen for 10 minutes due to no staff being at the reception, no idea why but it got sorted OK. The hotel is clean, the room was clean, well presented and very welcoming. I had breakfast which was the normal cooked breakfast buffet, toasts, pancakes, breads, cereals, tea or coffee, juices with plenty of seating options and a view of the sea. The staff were great, the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed. The view gives you a great start to the day. I used the pool which was great. Some families there with kids, a swimming lane, working steam room, sauna and heated jacuzzi. The outside hottub is amazing. It is a must do at this hotel. It was raiing on my stay so the outside tennis court and kids play area werent being used but its worth a mention that they have these. Location feels remote but its only 5-10 minutes from Salthill and Galway by car. There is a petrol station beside the hotel on the main road and a small village. I guess you access the hotel by car, taxi or bus.
Clybaun Hotel

A very overdue review but didn’t want to not leave it. Had a lovely stay here in May. Staff were so kind and helpful. Room much bigger than expected (family room) and very quiet – even when we saw a raucous looking hen night setting up and then didn’t hear a squeak from it all night. Lovely pool and whilst there were lessons going on we still had ample space to swim and change. Really enjoyed our stay and felt it was well priced for the standard. Only con is that the buses aren’t as regular as hoped especially through the weekend so we had to take more taxis as expected as town was a hefty walk away (and hire car prices seem to have gone crazy in Ireland!). But will come back for sure. Thank you!
The Ardilaun Hotel

The hotel is very calm and welcoming in the midst of a busy city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I stay in lots of hotels for work and the key over and above moment for me was after I got home and phoned them to say I’d left my phone charger behind. Both Christian Alison and Melissa were all SO helpful and professional and posted it to me. I also must commend the House Keeping staff for their thoroughness and protocols. I expected a charge but no I was told that it was fine on this occasion. The difference between this hotel and so many others is that they obviously want the return business and go the extra mile. The number of items that I’ve left in hotels down through the years and the staff do not care to ring one back, search for the item or even bother to follow up. This certainly did not happen here. My issue was dealt with cordially and efficiently. Thank you Ardilaun Hotel. Claire Lenihan, Dublin
Glenlo Abbey Hotel

We loved every second of our stay at this amazing hotel. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean. The bathroom was large with a rain head shower, the perfect way to start the day. Breakfast was delicious and all of the staff were so kind. We also booked the Falconry Experience, which ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Jason was a wealth of knowledge and interacting with the birds was a once in a lifetime experience. If you are visiting Galway, be sure to plan some time to stay at Glenlo Abbey.
