We stayed at the Ardilaun for a week before a wedding. It's on the older side, but clean and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The rooms have a lot of natural light too, which is always appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at the bistro (they even had healthy options!) and at breakfast. The pool is large and the sauna and steam room were great to have, but the gym is on the older side so I didn't use it more than once. Everyone is incredibly kind and even with a wedding going into the early hours of the morning, our room was quiet. It's a decent but doable walk from town, but you'll likely be taking a short taxi ride there and back.

Great location. I paid a reduced price which suited the experience I had, I would've been disappointed had I paid more. The hotel was very clean,if a little dated in areas. All staff were very pleasant. The breakfast was good but cutlery mismatched,dull and covered in watermarks and the crockery scratched,dull,greying didn't look well. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pillows however were terrible, very uncomfortable. Overall though, this is a lovely hotel with lovely grounds, lots of free parking in a great location with really nice staff. I would definitely stay here again.

Great service, friendly staff, very clean. Would highly recommend. My first time staying there to attend my nephews wedding. A very comfortable experience.

I have always found the Ardilaun to have a very high standard. This time the service at breakfast was a bit slow, but I am probably being a bit picky. I will go back to this hotel.

Lovely hotel. Pet friendly rooms near the car park with double doors opening onto a beautiful garden area. Not overrun with dogs so don't be put off by that if you are not an animal lover, Dogs not permitted in Bar or restaurant but lovely spacious lobby area where we could eat, drink and relax with the dogs. Near Salt hill prom, Barna woods, Silver strand beach where we were able to walk the dogs daily. Overall a lovely location and lovely hotel and made feel welcome by all the staff.

The service in the restaurant was sub-par, but not the fault of the poor servers, who were absurdly overwhelmed. I estimate that there were only two servers for about 150-200 people in the group dining area. Took two hours to get served, and we left before the final course because we got tired of waiting. The food would be ok if it was hot, which it was not. The room was clean, but showing its age, with lights and sockets that didn’t work.. there was no air conditioning and no fan. Overall a solid 2 out of five - not horrible, but little to recommend it

A long weekend away, nothing but praise from me with everything available, location was decent as in-between the City and Barna.
