Room was very well designed, however in the bedroom part when the doors are closed no air conditioning could access making nights uncomfortable. But the most uncomfortable thing of all was the bed. A marshmallow bed gave me no support and therefore a sore back. Tried the couch one night was much more comfortable but then I started thinking about hygiene and thought I could get pink eye or something so begrudgingly went back to soft-as bed for more achy sleep.

With great views of the pier and Geelong waterfront, the Novotel Geelong made for a great stay for our footy weekend away. Staff were attentive and wonderful to speak with - nothing was too much trouble. We asked to view the conference, meeting and event spaces - again stunning views and many options available. Great dinner at the restaurant, Tempo as well. Perhaps their warm hospitality even helped the Port Adelaide players get up over Geelong (don't tell the locals!). Highly recommend, made a great stay in Geelong even better.

I am a mature, single woman needed to stay in Geelong overnight and the Eden Oak was just perfect. Surrounded by parkland it is a very easy walk into the city and Eastern beach, though you would probably not want to do it at night. The general look of the public spaces is a bit institutionalised clean but sparse. The actual room looked like it had just been refurbished - it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well designed. Slept very well with the blackout curtains and easy to navigate cooling/heating systems. I didn’t use the pool and bar area on this visit but they looked very inviting and well maintained. The included ‘continental’ breakfast was fantastic with a variety of breads, pastries, cereals, juices, fruit - well beyond my expectations. And the mini bar is complementary- no alcohol - but a small selection of chocolate, crisps, juice etc made for a welcome snack after a long trip. Checkin and booking was simple - I booked directly via the hotel website - staff were friendly and professional. I look forward to a return trip, highly recommended.
