JW Marriott Hotel Harbin River North Reviews

The hotel is a great one, however note that it is on the opposite side of downtown and around 40min away from the hotspots such as churches, cafes etc. There are a few great restaurants nearby including the German restaurant Juli. It is easy to get to the Ice and Snow festival (20min) and a beautiful view of the wintery snowy river.

Good hotel with comfortable location

Very beautiful hotel with amazing view on the river. Very wide choice for breakfast both Chinese and Western style. Only thing to improve was room service since food was not very good and was delivered in plastic boxes, but it was also the first day of the year, so it might be possible that this is the reason.

First, I want to thank the staff from the hotel. Peter from the front desk was really helpful, the people working in the restaurant and the housekeeping ladies in my floor (17). The hotel is very modern but the location is tricky. To get there you must ride a cab. I tried to walk from the nearest Metro station (Shimao Ave) but it is over 2 kilometers and with temperatures average -22 wasn't that pleasant. The facilities like the spa and swimming pool were open only with a hand full of guests. The restaurant was open but only as room service. The food wasn't bad at all, a bit on the pricey side but there were not other options. My biggest disappointment was the room. The closet is located in the room's hall and the design is so poor it doesn't even have drawers to unpack the suitcases. When you open the closet you are really blocking the hall. Near the hotel there is literally no place to go to have a coffee. The nearest place is the MIXC mall that has a Starbucks but you need to take a cab to get there (5-7minutes ride). To get to the city, I took DiDis and rode the metro. The Metro system is AMAZING. You can use other Metro cards (I used my card from Shanghai) It is extremely cheap (4 to 6 RMB) per ride

No Public bar in the hotel only have drinks in your room. Room service 1.5hours for an order of 2beers. Inconsistent Room cleaning. No top up for Toilet paper. No laundry bags. No mini bar refresh. And the executive lounge only open intermittently through the day from 12pm to 7.30 pm. Breakfast chaotic dirty floors and some tables. hot food cold. Sausages eggs. Long que to enter the breakfast not enough staff or tables. Need transport nothing round the hotel with walking distance.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were kind. The location is great! A 30 minute walk and short subway ride to the Ice and Snow Festival.

Love this hotel. Great views of the river from our room. Breakfast was good too, many western options as well as chinese. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everyone spoke fluent English, from the guy at door helping with bags, housekeepers, the fitness and swimming desk staff and especially the ladies at reception Zoe and April. One of the best hotels I've stayed at with regards to customer service.

This stay at JW Marriott was a very pleasant experience. The scenery near the hotel is pleasant. Mary introduced the local snacks and famous attractions to me very attentively. The hotel staff were very warm and thoughtful, and their service attitude was excellent. I really think this is a good hotel worth trusting, and I give it a five-star rating without hesitation!

This hotel is highly recommended. It is very professional and enthusiastic. I received a call from Mary before arriving at the store. She arranged the room according to my preferences in advance and upgraded my room. The service was very thoughtful and considerate. After arriving at the store, I only asked for children's slippers, and they took the initiative to send me a children's toiletries set and a lot of mineral water. These were so thoughtful that I was touched. Later, they took the initiative to knock on the door and ask if I needed laundry. I have stayed in many five-star hotels before, but few of them asked so proactively. This hotel is a hundred times better than the hotels near Central Avenue, and it is very close to Ice and Snow World and Polar Park. It is highly recommended and I will recommend it to my friends next time!
