iclub Wan Chai Hotel

We enjoyed our stay, accessible from Wan Chai MTR & near to many local eateries/ restaurants. Room was comfy & clean, basic amenities were provided. We stayed longer for 4 nights, the hotel staff managed to arrange us on a higher floor (which offered a great city view). The room was smaller than expected as the corridor took up quite abit of space. We enjoyed coffee & light morning refreshments in the lounge on level 5 instead.

the room looked exactly like the one in the photos. they cleaned the room every day and we didn’t even notice until the third day of our stay because our personal items were untouched and only the beddings, towels, and trash cans were changed. i mention this because oftentimes hotel staff don’t enter the room unless you put out a sign to ask for cleaning or when they do enter there are risks of missing items — so i’m glad that the staff were very professional in this sense because it was nice to come back to a clean room after a long day. the room was spacious, with a nice view outside as seen on the photo i added — you can see the gradual build up of people and cars on the street and how to dress before leaving your room since the weather as of late can be a little quirky. hotel staff were very attentive to needs as well. when we asked for extra pillows and blankets, they were able to deliver them within a few minutes. they don’t offer any snacks or coffee in the room, but have some tea bags and an empty water jug available for use that you can fill up at the designated water station in the hotel. single-use toiletry packets like toothpastes aren’t available too so make sure to have those with you or buy from the convenience store nearby. the process of checking in and out of the hotel was very smooth and quick — literally no fuss whatsoever. location-wise, i have nothing to say other than it being convenient for commuting. overall, my family and i enjoyed our stay here.

Absolutely Horrible – Stay Away! This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Everything was terrible from the moment I stepped in. • Room Conditions: The ventilation doesn’t work, making the air stale and suffocating. There’s mold and mildew on the ceiling, which makes it almost impossible to breathe properly. The room was filthy, covered in dust, stains, and grime—so disgusting that I was afraid to touch anything. • Smell: The entire hotel reeks of dampness, sewage, and something rotten. No matter where you go—hallways, rooms, even the so-called “lobby”—the stench is unbearable. • Hygiene & Cleanliness: Clearly, the staff has no concept of cleaning. The bathroom was a nightmare—hair all over the floor, dirty towels, and moldy shower walls. The bed had stains and god knows what else on it. • Hotel Surroundings: The area around the hotel is awful—noisy, dirty, and unsafe. There are sketchy people hanging around, and it doesn’t feel like a place where you can walk safely at night. This place should be shut down. Avoid at all costs, unless you want to ruin your vacation.

Right smack in the middle of Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island. Food stalls are aplenty within walking distance. Trams run just outside the hotel. The ferry terminal is also within walking distance. Rooms are large. They provide a simple spread of bread and pastries for breakfast for free.

Got an upgrade by the hotel. Overall, the location is good..
