YHA Jockey Club Mt. Davis Youth Hostel (Hong Kong Island)

I booked a standard double room, and the staff upgraded it to a double room with sea view on the second floor. Thank you 🙏. The overall hardware facilities are very good. The rooms and public toilets are clean. There is a public kitchen with a large stainless steel worktop, a dining space and an activity room. The picture shows a viewing platform with a high view. There are three points that guests need to pay attention to. (1) The shuttle bus runs between the entrance of the hostel and Exit C of Kennedy Town MTR. The last bus to go up the mountain is at 19:30. However, if you miss it, you can take a taxi from Gaode, which costs about HK$48. (2) On weekends, you may encounter group gatherings with classmates, which will be a bit noisy until about 1 a.m. (3) You can reserve barbecue ingredients (about HK$300) from the YHA official website. I will definitely try it next time I come!

This is the first time I stayed in a hotel and wrote a serious review. This is a very good youth hostel. Located on the western end of Hong Kong Island, Mount Davis overlooks the beautiful scenery of Victoria Harbor. My friend and I didn't contact the hotel at first. We walked for two hours from the University of Hong Kong to the mountain. My friend almost fainted. At two o'clock in the afternoon, we finally arrived at the youth hostel. The sister at the front desk saw that we were sweating profusely and took out Vita Lemon Tea from the refrigerator for us to drink. Because I didn't read the instructions carefully when booking the hotel, I originally needed to pay a membership fee of 150 yuan, but the sister didn't charge us. In the end, she upgraded our room for free. After taking a rest in the afternoon, I took a 19-seat bus down the mountain to Kennedy Town in the evening to eat Xingzhou fried rice and got drunk in the sunset. After returning to the youth hostel, I sat on the open balcony, accompanied by the breeze and beer, and enjoyed the night view of both sides of Victoria Harbor. In addition to the sister at the front desk, other staff were also very friendly. They would say hello when they saw us. It is no exaggeration to say that I felt warm here. In addition, the hostel actually has its own special car pick-up service, so it is best for travelers to contact the staff in advance when they come, otherwise they will have to take a long detour on the mountain road. The previous experience is a lesson for the next. The hostel has all the facilities such as kitchen and shower, so there is no need to worry about the lack of facilities. What surprised me most was that the beautiful scenery here shocked me. Mount Davis is a wealthy area in Hong Kong. This hostel has an excellent geographical location and a quiet environment. There are not many tourists staying, so it will not be crowded. If the traveler has a limited budget and plans to enjoy the beautiful scenery, this hostel is a very good choice. There is no doubt that I will come to this hostel again in the future. The 270-degree sea view is amazing. It is hard to imagine that there is such a large youth hostel on the top of Hong Kong Mountain. Youth hostels and backpackers who are used to staying will like it very much. Reminder, you need to have a membership card of the International Youth Hostel to enjoy the preferential price. It is very convenient to apply for a card in the mainland, and you can buy it through the website; you have to put on the four-piece bedding yourself, and take it out and take it to the front desk when you check out. This is very youth hostel; if you check in later than 8 pm, you must contact the youth hostel in advance, otherwise it will affect the check-in registration! The youth hostel is on the top of the mountain, and you can only take a taxi or take the youth hostel shuttle bus directly to it.

The view is wide and the scenery is beautiful!

The view of this place is unbeatable, with a 300-degree sea view. My friend and I just wanted to find a place with a good view to relax, watching the sunrise every morning and the sunset every night! Taking pictures is very comfortable. The boss is very nice, answering all questions, warm and thoughtful. There is hot water for showering 24 hours a day, you can cook in the kitchen, and the water dispenser is available 24 hours a day. Turn left at Exit C of Kennedy Town MTR Station and walk 10 meters to get a free bus to the mountain. (It is the photo booth of the Internet celebrity check-in point) The schedule is different every day, so friends who want to make a reservation should remember to pay attention to the daily schedule information.

Halfway up the mountain, a half-mountain homestay, backed by the mountain and facing the sea, with the location configuration of a luxury house. It is quite convenient to get to Central. The environment is quite clean. Barbecue, tents, rooms, observation decks, 24-hour hot water are all available. It is a public toilet and public bathroom.
