The location is probably the best part. It is connected to the convention center and there is also so many restaurants and food trucks so close by and there are some connected to it as well. It’s very clean and I would definitely stay here again.

A Stage IV cancer diagnosis makes your world stop: so many unknowns, so many decisions, so much uncertainty. When seeking treatment at MD Anderson, I selected to stay at the Hilton Medical Center. As a Gold Status member, certain privileges like room upgrades and food credits are afforded to the customer. I have been staying at this hotel on each trip to MD Anderson Cancer Center since October of 2022. Most times, my stay had to be modified, either extended or shortened. This is quite common, and, as the hotel staff acknowledged, something they work with on a daily basis. When undergoing treatments, flexibility is key. I have never had an issue modifying my stay. Sadly, this was not the case on my most recent trip in February 2023. I was booked for a two night stay, but had to go home a day early because I was literally too sick to undergo chemotherapy. When I checked out about 10AM, a manager (Karla) informed me she had chosen to enforce the one night penalty policy. This had NEVER been done before, and when I expressed my concern, she told me several different versions of untruths. She said the ”policy had changed” and also that she ”tried to remove the charge and the computer would not allow her to do so.” When I called the Hilton Honors Customer Service, I spoke with Carl who explained that the policy states that the hotel ”may” charge fees. It is at the discretion of the hotel employee. Carl called the hotel and spoke with Courtney, who said I would not be charged for the additional night. But, Karla would have none of it. I was going to have to pay. On a follow up call with Karla on Tuesday, she refused to grant me the courtesy of waiving the cancellation penalty. She did acknowledge that the courtesy of waiving penalties had been granted in the past, but she was choosing to penalize a loyal Gold Status cancer patient who was so sick she had to return home immediately. I am extremely disappointed in how this situation was handled.

The room is large; the supporting facilities and equipment are good. It is equipped with a Dyson hair dryer and a kettle that Chinese people like. But my people live
I feel super bad: 1.) I arrived at the hotel on a long-distance international flight 2:30 minutes earlier than the stipulated 3pm check-in time. Jalisa, the check-in service staff, told me very forcefully that if I wanted to check in in advance, I would have to pay US$75💲 There was nothing negotiable room. 2) After finding another service staff to explain the situation and help us check in, they were told that we had to pay 5 days of room charges and a deposit of US$400 (I paid all 5 days of room charges when booking with Ctrip) and needed to check and wait. ⌛️I also actively called Ctrip, and 1 hour and 30 minutes have passed since the check-in procedures were completed. 3.) The hot water was not hot when I took a shower on the first day I checked into the hotel. I couldn’t take a shower and called room service. A repairman came to fix it and the hot water was a little hotter. I thought the hot water ♨️ should continue to be maintained the next day. Unfortunately, there was still no hot water the next day♨️ I took a shower and called Room service. No one answered the phone. I called the front desk 7 times in a row and no one answered. I had to go downstairs to the hotel front desk to report the hot water problem (same experience) Jalisa’s attitude was also super bad👎 She just said very coldly that I will take note of your needs. I then asked when someone will come to help me fix the hot water problem. The answer was that I don’t know because it was late (9:00 local time). 45pm) I said that the hotel has 24-hour service, but she said no and kept giving you all kinds of excuses. I was very angry. At this time, a male service staff next to me (after completing the service procedures for another guest) looked at me. Go down and help me, inform me that I will contact someone to repair it and ask me to go back to the room to wait (with the help of the male service staff, I got hot water after about 10 minutes♨️ and can take a shower) 4.) In the following days, whenever I pass by the front desk, I will go back to the room and wait. When I met Jalisa (the front desk clerk), she gave me a cold look. This is my stay experience of 6 days and 5 nights.😅😅

Amazing stay. I know post pandemic some Intercontinentals have slightly dropped in some areas but this property is definitely not one of them. Clean, comfortable rooms, beds very relaxing and quickly got to sleep. All employees I encountered (from Kate who checked me in) to the young bartender and waiter in the lounge who worked dinner on the 19th were all top grade. NOTE - my Uber driver drove right by and turned in to the Doubletree next door. There really isn't a prominant sign on the road. So be mindful when you get there. If that was the only flaw (and it was) that means the property may just be the best hotel in Houston.

The hotel is not big, there is no courtyard garden or something; there is no Chinese food variety for breakfast. If you eat the Western food taste, you can accept the waiter. I am very enthusiastic and come over and ask if you want coffee. You can ask the waiter at the door to fry the eggs and ask the waiter for soy sauce. (They really have it) is not high in terms of cost performance. The parking lot at the entrance of the hotel is useless. I don't know if I want to charge. The hotel is very close to the medical center and can be walked; not far from Rice University, it takes at least 10 minutes to walk.

Excellent
The hotel is in a great location. It’s close to everything you need. It’s clean, quiet, and has friendly staff. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in the Houston area. Bernard was really friendly and kind to everyone he encountered.
JjennifermN1408IFI travel frequently for pleasure and work. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. I genuinely felt they went out of their way to make my stay the best it could be. My dog traveled with me and he got spoiled too by the staff. Will be back again soon. This will always be my first choice for stays in Houston. The staff at this hotel are top notch! Thank you all for that, you made this visit stand out from other properties. Ross and I can't wait to visit again soon!
GGuest User1. *DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Houston at the Galleria IS THE FIRST HILTON-MANAGED HOTEL I'm STAYING IN WITH SUCH UNHOSPITABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL FRONT OFFICE STAFF.
2. The front office staff, unfortunately, are a new guest’s first contact but they lack professionalism and decorum. First impressions last forever, they say.
3. They don’t wear name tags at the front office (except Pinky Pradhan), so they carry on providing sub-standard services in anonymity.
4. THE RESTAURANT STAFF ARE ALL SO CORDIAL & SO NICE.
5. The food was excellent.
6. The facilities are super (gym and pool) except that the lifts are so slow and were perpetually being fixed for the seven nights I stayed there.
7. Only one electric power outlet (charging point) in the King size room, which was far from the work desk. So, laptop use was not fun. I was on a business trip, not on holiday
8. I was told that a guest has to be Hilton Honors DIAMOND to qualify to have a bottle of water in your room...amazing!
I chose the hotel because of its proximity to JW Marriott, venue of my training, so I could do a few minutes' walk to and fro. I wish I stayed at the Marriott. I may not recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Houston at the Galleria to any one I care about.
GGuest User Upon check in, we went to our room only to find out the key card/lock would not work. The concierge was very helpful and said he'd send the engineer up to assist. We waited about 10 minutes, but I understand the engineer was very busy assisting with other patrons' key card/lock issues. So we had to leave the hotel for dinner and come back. The concierge said he would have the engineer test the card/lock to ensure we would be able to get into our room later that evening. Upon our return to the hotel room, we still could not get in. We contacted the night concierge, and she called the engineer. We waited another 15 minutes for him to show up. At that point, he troubleshot the issue and could not get into the room. He said he would need other tools to get us in. So we waited another 10 minutes in the hot and muggy hallway for him to come back with crowbars. He was finally able to get us in; this was after about 30 minutes total of waiting in the hot hallway.
Now I do not blame the engineer or concierges; they were just doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. But a very nice hotel like yours should have a better fail safe system in place than crowbars. Kind of scary that someone could pry open a room with a small crowbar or two.
LLouis PMy husband were in Houston to celebrate my Birthday! We were initially given room 401. The lighting in bathroom was very dim, only the bottom part of the mirror was lit up the rest of it wasn’t working so they advised a part would have to be ordered and changed us to the room next-door room 405 where we found that the door had been placed on the hinges unevenly or incorrectly, which caused a gap! You could see the hallway from the inside and you could see the inside of the room from the hallway, that wasn’t safe at all and the room didn’t have a television remote, so we moved to a third room 421, the third room the water pressure was almost null and the safe didn’t work either because of batteries, so those were replaced the next morning. We were told that the lack of water pressure was due to a boiler issue and he would check into it and let us know something but it never increased and he never got back with us like he said he would so the water stayed a trickle during our entire stay. Breakfast was decent. There were a few children running/stomping loudly up and down the hallway on our floor both morning and night! This stay was a nightmare! I mentioned it to the front desk staff, and she said I know they’re getting on my nerves too. But did nothing about it Manager Judy Corbett advised she would give us 5000 reward points for all our trouble. We got the Runaround from both front desk staff and her. She didn’t bother to contact me until after I’d completed a survey/review on this hotel. My husband and I were very disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay here to say the least. I would say communication with your hotel guests is key! Don’t leave them hanging or guessing about repairs or anything else that is concerning!
GGuest UserI was in a rush and needing to go to the passport office- This hotel is conveniently located two blocks away. Upon entry I was greeted warmly and it felt like an upscale home. While my room was small and quaint, it’s what I paid for. The bed was comfortable with four fluffy pillows ready to welcome my head from a days worth of travel. The food here was excellent with super fast service. What I ate? Dinner: steak and frites with french fries. Breakfast: Eggs over easy, bacon, croissant with jam, potatoes (potatoes were not my favorite but they weren’t horrible). Lunch: chicken alfredo. I enjoyed Edgar’s Hermano and the staff we so polite and helpful, pointing me in the right direction because I’m oblivious to signs.
I’m general the staff were super friendly, my room was clean with complimentary cookies and was an overall amazing experience at. For an upscale hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem.
GGuest UserI checked in very late - around 8-9pm - and the woman at the counter was extremely friendly and nice. She made conversation with us about our trip and our jobs and told us all the available amenities. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was your average hotel breakfast, but had more options than I usually see so close to the end of breakfast time. They did not begin cleaning up breakfast right at the end time, which was nice because they let us keep grazing on what was left before finally taking it away about 20 minutes after breakfast had ended. The vending machines were really cool. There were cheap toiletries in the vending machine that you could buy in case you forgot something at home, and the cola vending machine had ice cold drinks for pretty cheap. I had a great time staying at this hotel and would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. I've stayed at this brand of hotel (Choice Hotels) before and I've always had a great experience.
GGuest Userd by Marriot houston westchase asa johnson You CAUTION! THEY RELEASED MY PREPAID ROOMS AND WE ARRIVED ON A RED EYE FLIGHT TO NO WHERE TO STAY WITH ALL SURROUNDING HOTELS FULLY BOOKED. These rooms were confirmed for weeks before. They never called or emailed until that they oversold. I literally called when I was in my rental letting them know I was on the way, and they told me sorry I will need to call another hotel because they over booked. Why they gave someone both if our double rooms, I don't know??? I explained that is unacceptable. Here are photos of the rooms they sent put us in due to their inconsideration. Nasty just nasty. Mold, Hair, dirty, ran down. They finally sent a cancellation email after we showed up for our reservation. Austin Gerdes the Assistant is the general manager that gave away our rooms and he wouldn't return any calls. I felt bad for the poor lady on duty trying to clean up his mess. She gave him my number over the phone but he never called. How inconsiderate. This is a business trip and they started it off as a nightmare. Horrible practice and damaging to Marriot's reputation.
LLIANGThe hotel is located in the western part of the city, close to Chinatown. There are various restaurants around to choose from. Affordable, you can cook and eat by yourself, the yard is very quiet, it is recommended to stay at this hotel
GGuest UserThe elevator did not work so we had to use the stairs with our luggage. We had an elderly couple in our party.
I had also paid for my trip through the booking company and I was charged again. I had to wait about 2wks until I was finally refunded.
