"I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel in Semporna! The highlight was definitely the breathtaking sea view from my room. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities provided. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay. I also appreciated the convenient location, with easy access to the jetty and nearby eateries. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with beautiful views and warm hospitality, I highly recommend this hotel."

"Simple budget lodge situated not far from town area, it is walkable, and if want to take a Grab, it's just 4 minutes from the town area. There is a supermarket nearby with some simple eateries. Reception is helpful with the requests made. There is no fridge or electric kettle in the room, however, you can get hot water at the reception. The room is generally clean however the stairway could do a little more cleaning as it was always dusty."

"I stayed for two nights, the room is rather small with outdated facilities which are common throughout hotels in northern part of Borneo. The hotel is clean and facilities are sufficient as the typical hotel in Semporna is rather basic. The location is ideal only 10min walk to the front pier, with a 24/7 mcdonald located just across the road! All in all recommend it for a short stay!"

"The location is good, next to shops and not too hard to park. The family room is on the ground floor, the staffs like to spend their leisure time at the counter area recording tiktok and listening musics. We can hear their voices and music even from the room. There's no staff in the morning when we need to check out too. The bathroom is very spacious and clean. Loveeee the interior though!"

"Very accommodating hotel - easy to contact before arrival, tended to all our requests and, most importantly, kept a phone charger that we forgot for us for a couple of days and returned it safely. Highly recommended !"

"Nothing beats this location if you’re visiting Semporna. The easiness of going straight to your room after a whole day of soaking in the sea. Got a seaview of 4th floor which is nice. Slept soundly at night, no problem with noises. Elevator was a bit small but not a problem. Standard hotel room and bath, nothing impressive. Staff helped with airport transfer. All in all will stay here again."

"For this price, it’s totally worth it, rooms are small but totally functional. Balcony is spacious and got space to hand your wetsuits. And we even had a sea view. It’s a good value. Will definitely come back!"

"Hotel Review Positive Points: 1. Air-conditioning was very effective and kept the room comfortable throughout the stay. 2. Great window view – beautiful sea and jetty scenery that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. (see my attached picture) 3. Excellent location – conveniently close to eateries and the jetty, making it easy to get around. 4. Reasonably priced in-house food – offers good value for money for guests who prefer to dine in. 5. Complimentary extra bottled water was provided upon request, which was appreciated. 6. Friendly and helpful staff across all departments – from housekeeping, café, and maintenance to the front desk. Everyone was courteous and attentive. 7. Special mention to the chef – a very kind and gentlemanly person. On our first day, we ordered 6 fried eggs for breakfast, assuming they were included. The chef initially didn’t inform us of the RM2 charge per egg and kindly did not charge us for them. When we later tried to order again, he politely informed us about the charge. We truly appreciated his honesty and kind gesture. 8. very nice grilled meat at the roof cafe (5th floor).The promo price is 5 sticks for rm9.9 . worth to eat! --- Areas for Improvement: 1. Limited breakfast buffet selection – mainly local dishes such as chicken, eggs, vegetables, rice, or noodles. While the food was tasty, there were no options like fresh milk, cereal, or egg station. Fruit choices were also limited to just bananas every day. 2. Window leakage during heavy rain – rainwater entered the room. However, the staff responded promptly and mopped the floor immediately. 3. No robe hooks in the bathroom – makes it inconvenient to hang clothes or towels. 4. Shortage of bath towels – clean towels were only available in the late afternoon after laundry was returned. 5. Extra blanket charge – an additional around rm50-60 was required if requesting one more blanket, which felt a bit expensive. 6. Low water pressure in the shower – the water flow was quite weak, making the shower experience less enjoyable. 7. Housekeeping quality needs improvement – there was sand in the room, and although we informed the staff, it was not cleaned properly even after the feedback. Extra Tip for Travellers: There’s no laundry shop in Semporna town, so do remember to bring enough clothes for your stay."

"I had an amazing stay at The Firefly Resort Semporna! The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel so welcome throughout my visit. The food was excellent – you have to try the Mee Basah and Xiong Dai Mee Fun, both were absolutely delicious. The resort is in a strategic location with great vibes, making it a perfect getaway spot. And the highlight? They have a bird that can talk in Malay – such a unique and fun experience! Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Semporna."
