"The hotel is quite good and relatively cheap. I just want to highlight some of the things that can be improved easy and quick. One of those is the double secured lock that is broken in the door. It make the stay a little bit unsecured.

"We had a wonderful stay at Swiss-Belinn Malang! The hotel was clean, cozy, and very well maintained. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out — they made us feel really welcome. Breakfast had plenty of delicious options, and the location was perfect, close to many local attractions and cafes.

"I stayed here for 4 nights. For a budget hotel with affordable prices in the center of Malang, this place can be recommended. The staff service was friendly (especially Mr. Alfon as the Hotel Manager, Dyan and the night receptionist, as well as the female staff at the restaurant whose name I forgot).
The location is strategic, close to Alun-Alun, KFC, McDonald’s, and the Kayutangan area.
The room was quite clean and comfortable — I recommend choosing the deluxe type at the front section."

"The hotel is old but in a good way, means all the hoteliers are well trained & friendly, very reliable too. The location is very strategic, not too far from the main part of the city, but not too close that you get cramped up every time you leave the hotel. It's on the main road, not difficult for online taxis to reach. Parking's not huge, but enough for the guests (in my opinion, the parking's way better than any other hotels i've seen down the road).
The hotel room is old but clean, in my opinion. The bathrooms are clean & spacious. Although some of the furnitures shows its age & the locks are worn out, all the areas are super clean.
One thing that is most memorable is the body wash! Love the body wash, so fragrant!
If you're looking for a getaway & simply for rest, this is a hotel for you. This hotel might not provide cable/netflix, (there's still wifi dont worry) or facilities like the gym, BUT this hotel works for me who's looking to rest and relax.
This hotel feels like a trip down memory lane, just like malang. Very nostalgic in the best way possible"

"The hotel is strategically located right in the heart of Malang city, next to a mall and a stadium. The room was clean and the service was quick. I stayed with my family for 2 nights during our trip to Bromo. The food at the cafe was also delicious, especially the pecal and coffee. Fantastic!"

"Our room was comfortable and a decent size, the bed was good and the bathroom OK. The lobby promised better as it was very nice. Breakfast was meagre and a bit disappointing. The price reflected the overall quality. Good for a short stay while you do the Mt Bromo tour"

"The hotel itself is okay, and its proximity to UB is convenient because my child studies there.
However, there are a few areas that need improvement:
1. The bed sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcases really need to be replaced. Their colors are quite faded.
2. The elevator access should ideally be separate from the apartment units. I once shared an elevator with a drunk person, which was very unsettling, especially since I was with my children at the time.
These are the only points I believe require immediate attention; everything else is manageable."

"This hotel is strategically located along the main road. There are a lot of restaurants, cafe and convenient stores nearby.
In terms of rooms, we are happy to book a room. We get 2 big beds and in one room, four adults can sleep comfortably.
Toilet is divided into shower cubicle, sink and vanity mirror and toilet bowl. My comment is that shower cubicle is only half closed and it's missing proper glass door. Therefore, shower water spills into the sink and mirror section. When it's wet, the tile is quite slippery. So, walk carefully.
Two breakfast coupons worth IDR50,000.00 each are given for each room. You can have your breakfast delivered to your room or you can dine at the restaurant. The restaurant is located in the building next to the hotel. We were informed that the restaurant is under the same management as the hotel. The food is good. We ordered bubur ayam a few times as it is good. Nasi goreng Jawa is very delicious. There are chicken slices and cabbage slices. It's well cooked and the portion is generous.
What is interesting about this hotel? It has a rooftop restaurant and you can take pictures of Malang city from up there."

The owner was very friendly and welcoming, recommending many local delicacies. The price of the Mount Bromo tour we booked at the front desk was significantly cheaper than with other travel agencies, and the service was reliable and smooth.
The hostel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it convenient for everything. Most restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping districts are within walking distance. The local night market is right outside, bustling with activity at night, making it easy to find food and drinks, without having to worry about getting around or finding food.
The rooms were clean and meticulously maintained, with beds changed after each guest. They also provided towels, a locker, and a lock, ensuring a secure stay. The shared bathrooms were also clean, with shampoo and shower gel provided, and hairdryers available for free at the front desk. The attention to detail was truly thoughtful. A simple breakfast of bread, bananas, and hot tea/coffee was provided in the morning, perfect for replenishing energy.
Overall, this is a great value hostel with a prime location, attentive service, and a friendly atmosphere, perfect for backpackers and travelers who enjoy immersing themselves in local life.

Breakfast was decent with a fair selection. One thing to note—if you're a light sleeper like me, you might wake up early due to the nearby prayer call, as the sound carries quite clearly into the room. That said, I understand and respect the local culture, and it’s something to be aware of for those with sensitive sleep schedules. Overall, a pleasant stay.

GGuest UserThe environment here is great, perfect for families with kids looking for a relaxing vacation. We stayed for two days and were extremely satisfied. The room was comfortable, a lake-view room where we could feed the goldfish right from our window. We also enjoyed cycling around the resort with the kids. In the evenings, there were vendors passing by our room selling delicious snacks, which the kids absolutely loved. We all thought it was a fantastic trip!

MMrEmzThe location is just off the main street running through Malang, makes the hotel less affected by traffic noise. One of the minor drawbacks of this hotel is the lobby drop off area and minimal availability of parking onsite.
The friendliness and helpful customer service can be felt as you step into the hotel, from the security to the receptionist and workers all radiating warm smiles. Our check in process was smooth, we were assisted to find an available room for early check-in before 1pm . The restaurant staff was also attentive and courteous.
The hotel felt relatively new, only a couple years old and in great shape. The bedroom had semi firm but comfortable mattrass, with abundant pillows. Delightfully we got a 55” LG Smart Tv, with the to-date streaming services available (Netflix, Disney, Prime, Vidio, Youtube) and also cable tv showing international channels (AXN, Japanese, Arabic, etc). The room felt very cosy for resting after a long day's work or travel. The bathroom, although only had showers and no bathtub, gave great water pressure and hot water. The only complaint from the hotel is perhaps due to the connecting door, we can hear the other room's door closing and opening loudly as well as some talking from the other room.
Hotel had an interesting gym for good workout, rooftop cafe/restaurant. Didnt try any of those facilities for this trip but hopefully for my next trip. This is my second stay at 101 and look forward to returning again. Also, right across the hotel is a Sara Bakery, which serves good cakes and bakery products, and has a full restaurant menu also.

NNightmaremareThe Junior suite was very spacious but the furnishing could make a little more sense. For example the bedside table was just a round table without any drawers. The bathtub water outlet protruded to half the width of the bathtub and was a danger for little kid's head. Body lotion, which we expected to be a basic amenity, was not available even when requested. Breakfast was a good spread but protein choices were very limited. There are some kid activities but all with separate charges.

Room and bathroom were clean. Drinkable water can be obtained from dispenser in the hallway. Breakfast was nice! Great selection of food, snacks, pastries, cereals, etc.
Hotel location is in the heart of the city. Probably the only minus point was, as a property the hotel is not the most spacious, so less parking area available. Bunch of cars tend to queue in the morning picking up the outgoing guests.

AAnonymous UserThey have variety of food for the breakfast which is great. However, the cafe of the hotel (Napa Eatery & Bar), was not as great. Food took 30mins to serve when my family is the only one there for dinner. The taste of the food was not really on par with the reviews that I've seen.
The hotel services is not as great. They reassured us that they will provide the things that are not in the room (example: iron for ironing clothes), but, we did not receive it.
