"My elderly parents were really impressed by the modern industrial design – it was a refreshing experience for them! The location is great, about a 10-minute walk from the central station. We could also reach the Two Towers, Piazza Maggiore, and other sights within about 20 minutes by walking along the porticoes. The young lady at the front desk was learning Chinese and made a wonderful effort to communicate with us, offering practical and friendly advice and service. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and the cleanliness was excellent, with timely and thorough housekeeping. All the public areas felt safe and easily accessible. Restaurant service was good, and the breakfast spread was plentiful with a wide variety of choices. Dinner wait times weren't long, and the food tasted great. They also offer convenient luggage storage and free self-service laundry and drying facilities. The only slight inconvenience was that neither the front desk nor the restaurant accepted cash at all, which wasn't ideal as not everyone has a credit card. It would be great if they could allow payment with legal tender."

"The hotel is located in northeastern Bologna, about a 20-minute drive from the city center. A large shopping center and supermarket are a 6-minute drive away. The hotel is very clean, and the bedding, towels, and kettle in the room are of good quality. The mattress is thick and comfortable. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. Breakfast is typical of European hotels—not much, but enough to fill you up. However, the selection of desserts is quite extensive. All the Hilton Garden Inn hotels we stayed at during our trip offered a scrambled egg breakfast, but this one was the best. We asked for spinach, mushrooms, and onions, and the portion was generous; this one egg dish made our breakfast very satisfying."

"This hotel is a traditional style hotel. We liked it a lot, it was very comfortable. We had the best nights sleep there. And isn't sleeping the most important thing in a hotel? We liked the traditional room, it was cozy, with a balcony too, The service was helpful. The facade of the hotel building is not beautiful (in my opinion) but inside is a good hotel. We would definitely stay there again. It's convenient to the train station and to the city centre. The breakfast was pretty good."

"The hotel is in a good location if you want to be close to Bologna central railway station and the airport. The walk to the old town isn’t so far and you pass many nice things along the way. The area is safe and I walked back to the hotel after dark along the main thoroughfare and had no issues. The room was quite small but it’s enough for one person. The staff were friendly and I was able to store my bag. The only issue I had was the lack of air conditioning. The unit was present in the room but it was impossible to turn on due to it being April. Generally it wasn’t bad but the room was particularly stuffy in the morning and evening so it wasn’t so comfortable for sleeping. I understand that it’s April and it’s considered too early to turn on the air conditioning but it’s actually turned on in the lobby for the staff. So by that logic, it should be turned on in the rooms also. After living and traveling in Asia for many years it’s disappointing to see Italian hotels being stingy with money - especially considering the guests have paid money. It’s a shame because besides this I liked the hotel and the staff. I hope the savings made by turning off the air conditioning are worth it."

"Very nice cozy hotel. We’ve always stayed at Star Hotel group for last 30 yrs or so. THis time it was full, so wanted to the hotel near the Central station and found this hotel. People were nice, room was a bit far from Front desk and room small and only shower,,,,but, it was good for the money . I would stay there again on may nest trip , end of February,this year. And want to see nice metro street!"

GGuest UserGreat spot next to the train station. There’s actually not too much around the hotel itself but for convenience it makes sense. The room itself seemed modern and had all of the necessary plugs. Check in was easy and the elevators worked well. The showers were excellent and it came with a tub. Had all of the necessities so this hotel was a plus for me. Very walkable to the main piazza. I would rather have short walk with luggage after getting off train than a long walk staying at the center.

PpeanutdogIt's right across the street from the train station. The room was quite large. They initially gave me a twin room, but I asked to change to a double room. Although it faces a main road, it was very quiet. The service was excellent. There was no free water, and no supermarkets nearby, so I bought water at a fast-food restaurant. The breakfast was quite substantial, with a wide variety of options, and it was open for a long time. It was already open when I arrived at 7 am. After breakfast, I walked the Camino de Santiago, and then explored the old town of Bologna. A very beautiful city. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe hotel was only a 15-20-minute walk from the train station. The rooms were much bigger than expected with a comfy couch (and blankets) and TV. There was also an Alexa set up and she played music when directed and was pleasant. The kitchenette had ample utensils and cookware, but no napkins or paper towels. They supplied cold water in a pitcher as well as several bottles of wine (NOT complementary, but reasonably priced. The prices on the list in the room differed from the prices at the front desk, tho.) The complementary slippers were used every day as the tile floors were chilly. There was always enough hot water in the showers, but one bathroom light was out the whole time we were there (reported it to the front desk on the first day and they said they already knew about it, but were waiting on maintenance to fix. We had to make due without it for the six days we were there.) There were instructions on how to use each of the appliances (much appreciated!). It was a short walk to restaurants and cafes and the shopping district. Great accommodations for the price point and lots of room.

GGuest UserThe housekeeper didn't replenish the toilet paper in the bathroom. They also didn't empty the trash daily. Coffee was only available for free in the mornings. I used to get fruit and snacks in the afternoon, but not anymore.

AalinatravellingI stayed at Combo Bologna, which is about a 15-minute walk from the Central Station. The walk isn't particularly scenic, but the hostel itself has some great pros and cons: ➕ The linens were fresh, and they provided clean towels. A huge shoutout to the receptionist, even though I booked a mixed dorm, he managed to place me in a room with only girls, which made me feel much more comfortable! ➖ While the rooms were fine, the communal kitchen area was a bit disappointing. It didn't look very clean, and the kettle was quite dirty, which was a letdown since I wanted to drink some hot water. Verdict: Great for a short stay and friendly service, but the kitchen facilities could definitely use more maintenance.

GGuest UserI had the pleasure of staying at this hotel this past July for almost a week with the recommendation of Enrique. When I first arrived along with my husband, the people at the front of the door helped open the door. Checking in was very smooth with the help of the manager in the front (Laura). We were easily checked in and escorted upstairs to our room within a matter of minutes. Room was great with a nice patio overlooking a section of the Arno River. The location of the hotel is very nice as it is walking distance to the River. I even walked there during sunset hour. It is beautiful. My favorite part of the hotel was the breakfast buffet. In my opinion, it is better than the ones in America. The food was delicious. It was nice to try the coffee with their coffee machines. Might I add, not all hotels offer a juicer. While traveling, it can be hard to stay healthy so that juicer was very nice. The room was well air conditioned. It was well kept. The housekeeping lady did an amazing job keeping the room tidy. It was nice coming back to a cool room. Also, I forget the name of the young lady bartender... she was very nice and accommodating. The front desk even helped call the taxis when necessary since we're not from there. The lobby was also a nice place just to relax and cool down while waiting for a ride or just lounging. Would definitely recommend staying here and coming back again.

GGuest UserI guess it all depends on expectations - I booked it because it had really good recent reviews at the time but I was disappointed with the experience. The rooms look like they have been relatively recently renovated but because everything in the rooms is cheap and basic and there are marks and stains on the walls they appear tired.  The style is basic functional so you should not expect much in terms of comfort or coziness. The hotel is poorly ventilated so there is smell in corridors and in the rooms. I changed a room because there was additional smell coming from the bathroom.

GGuest UserThe hostel provides you with the bare necessities, such as a comfortable bed, a spacious room and locker including a lock, and a small bedlight and socket. Unfortunately, that is also literally it and nothing more. There are no curtains for the beds. The bathroom is super weirdly laid out; there is a bathroom with shower, the only toilet and a sink behind a door; then in front of that, there is another sink and a shower. WITH NO DOOR. Making this shower literally unusable. There are two light switches in the bathroom, one that turns on the light in the back bathroom (behind the door) AND a light for the front sink. This means that, if people are sleeping in the bed next to the bathroom, there is literally light shining directly on their face and all the sounds. A problem easily solved by adding a door and curtains on the beds. The bathrooms didn’t have hand soap (they were empty) or any shower amenities (no shower gel). You have to pay if you want a towel, and you also have to make your own bed. There is also a lot of noise from the neighbours, what seems like a student accommodation. At this kind of price range, the level of amenities is terribly disappointing and could be easily solved. I have stayed in hostels all over the world and sadly this one was just one of two options in Bologna, so not much choice. There are really a lot of simple improvements possible that would have made it worth it, but I really cannot say this is value for money at all.

GGuest UserThe staff at the Hotel are ver nice and kind. The breakfast was good and it had different choices to pick from. Although everything was very clean and neat, the hotel had its last renovation probably in the 2000’s, and you can tell. The lobby is very sad and it gives you a weird vibe. The wallpaper on our room was loose, and the celling our bathroom was breaking. We also noticed a towel blocking some of the cold getting in in one of the emergency doors, instead of fixing it. Although we had a minibar in our from, the door was missing (on the furniture part, not the actual fridge) , the curtains and over all decoration felt VERY DATED. It has a good woodwork, it just needs an urgent upgrade!
