"The resort is truly remarkable with good food and onsen facilities. My rating is purely based on the resort experience.
However, I will like to provide feedback on the reservation experience on trip.com. The pricing indicated on trip.com is not totally transparent. At the time of booking, I indicated 2 adults and a 7yo child to get accurate pricing. The amount was prepaid with a small fee JPY450 to be paid at hotel. At check in, I was shocked to learn that we are expected to pay for the child room rate at JPY22k+. That was not indicated on the “to pay at hotel’.
Trip.com customer service officer replied that the requirement was indicated on the email confirmation sent. This is upsetting as I usually used the mobile app and relied on available information to make reservation. It is not my habit to check email confirmation given the information on the app is correct. Pricing should be made transparent at point of booking and not after booking. And out of ‘goodwill’ they offered me a compensation close to 50% of the child room rate.
I have been using trip.com since covid and this is my first time having such issue. I hope my experience can benefit others who is booking this accommodation with child."

"This was my second stay here. The hotel is nestled on a small hill, offering a very quiet environment. I booked the pet-friendly tatami room, and during my stay, I could take out pet supplies, making the tatami area convenient for dining and tea.
The room service dining experience felt more comfortable and relaxed than eating in the restaurant, which was a plus. Breakfast was just average, though. One area for improvement: the forks provided with room service meals were too dull; it was difficult to spear meat. I suggest replacing them or using the same type of forks found in the restaurant for breakfast.
The hotel's location is quite central on Izu Island, making it ideal for a driving tour around the island.
Additionally, there's a small but convenient laundry room on the first floor, on the way to the main public bath. It costs 300 yen per wash, and there's also a dryer available."

"There are two characteristics of the hotel, kawadoka cuisine and four open-air private hot springs.
Let's talk about kawadoka cuisine first. The whole cuisine is very rich. The service staff will prepare it for you in advance at the time you make an appointment. You can enjoy the scenery while eating the cuisine.
As for the hot springs, you can check whether the hot springs are in use through the website, which is very convenient. This time I only soaked in two due to time constraints. I will try the other two next time.
The overall service is also very good. When you leave the hotel, the hotel will send you to a station by bus. Just confirm the route with the hotel in advance."

"This is a high-end resort hotel that combines traditional Japanese style with modern services. The hotel covers a large area and has villas and Japanese-style rooms. The area is very large and all built along the river. It used to be a high-end place for celebrities in Tokyo, Japan to vacation, gather and relax. However, the location of the hotel is situated on the hill, so May not be so convenient for travellers who don’t drive. Also, if you want to go to the public onsen within the hotel, you will have to take the shuttle bus, which is a bit inconvenient.

"The room is spacious, and the toilet and shower are separated, which is good. The hot spring tax of 150 yen is a mandatory charge, whether you soak or not, you have to pay it when you check in. "The staff was very professional and kind. We reserved the private onsen for an additional cost. We booked the biggest onsen. The washing area and the changing room was impeccably clean. The end of the tub however was a bit scary. The walls and ceiling was covered in spider webs and there were giant spiders hanging on there which was a bit unnerving. Otherwise the public washing areas and the room were very clean. The ryokan however is a bit outdated. There are some markings on the wall and curtains."

"Overall, this hotel is a very cost-effective hotel, especially for guests who play golf. I will stay here again next time. I stayed in the hotel for three consecutive nights with breakfast and dinner. The dinner was different every day and very rich. There were two days of set breakfast and one day of buffet breakfast. You can see Mount Fuji from your room, but because of the cloudy weather, you can only see the top of the mountain for a short time. The rest of the time, Mount Fuji was hiding behind the clouds. It is said that because of the low light pollution, the hotel is very suitable for stargazing, but I ate too much for dinner every day and went to bed early. It's a pity. Next time I will experience the hot springs and stargazing. The hotel's hot spring is Nekogoshi Hot Spring, which has indoor and outdoor facilities. I especially like the outdoor hot spring. You need to walk down a few steps, as if you are in the middle of the woods. When the wind is strong, the leaves rustle, which is very healing. Let's talk about the hotel's golf course. Since I didn't book a package that included playing golf, the playing fee was additional, but it was also very affordable. I like to drive the golf course by myself, without a caddy, and play golf freely. The first nine holes were played in the woods. I was lucky to meet deer unexpectedly on the 2nd and 8th holes, which was a surprise; the last nine holes were more like deep in the wilderness. The golf course is not too difficult and there are not many people. If you don't play golf, you can go to Shuzenji to see the attractions. Since we arrived a long time early and the room was not cleaned up, Grandma drove us to the surrounding shops and recommended us to eat a cheap and delicious salmon rice, telling us that after dinner, the boss could call her.
Compared with the Tangquan Hotel I stayed the night before, the grandmother's dinner and breakfast will be more hot, more like family products, let me eat well satisfied ～～
After dinner, I took a break and soaked in the hot springs, and I slept until dawn with satisfaction."

The food was exquisite and incredibly delicious! I was pleasantly surprised that the wasabi hot pot set menu also came with sashimi, Wagyu beef, and abalone? Or was it soft-shelled turtle? (The lobster in the picture was ordered separately.) Overall, the food was prepared with great care.
The hotel has a traditional Japanese style, and the courtyard is absolutely beautiful. Although our English isn't great, the front desk staff was very patient and meticulous in explaining all the rules to us. During meals, she even introduced each dish and spoke a few words of Chinese – we really loved her!
There was an unexpected and wonderful surprise when we checked out: all the staff came out to bid us farewell and even held up a banner that said, ”Please come again!” It was so touching and made us so happy; the emotional value was completely maximized.
The room we booked included a private onsen, which was available 24 hours a day.
We will definitely be back!!!

When we arrived, two women were waiting for us and quickly carried our luggage.
The view of the Japanese garden from our room was wonderful, and the vivid fresh greenery was soothing to the soul.
The dinner we had in our private room was a seasonal kaiseki meal, served one dish at a time in perfect timing and in beautiful utensils, all of which was delicious.
We enjoyed a delicious coffee after the meal in the free cafe.
The baths are switched between men's and women's, so we were able to enjoy both large baths.
The flowers and furnishings throughout the building were also wonderful, and we took our time looking at them.
The young man in charge was friendly and explained things carefully, so we had a pleasant stay.
This is an inn that I would definitely like to visit again in a different season.

SSumiAll aspects of the environment are very satisfactory, the food is very good, but the Japanese-style hotel that does not accept children. It is my favorite Japanese-style hot spring hotel. Another point is that it is more convenient to drive by yourself. However, the hotel should arrange a station pick-up and drop-off.

Izu has many internet-famous hotels, but this one truly evokes the feel of a forgotten Showa-era celebrity inn. From the layout to the room decor, service, and cuisine, the hotel is every bit the high-end establishment it once was. There are hardly any Chinese residents here, only Japanese tourists on vacation. Meals are served in the rooms, and there's virtually no interaction with other guests. It's a bit like a membership-based hotel, but open to everyone. It feels like a waste not to promote this place! It's a truly niche, upscale hot spring hotel, and the prices are quite reasonable. The value is far better than the exorbitant prices of many internet-famous hotels these days. The large baths have a beautiful view, and there's also a hot spring in the room. With the added meal, we also received a free private bath for the family. Our room service was provided by an elderly lady who didn't speak Japanese, but used a translation app to communicate, giving us a truly authentic Japanese hotel experience. Forget those internet-famous places; come here and experience it; it's a guaranteed, reliable experience worth the trip. Ultimately, it's a shame not to promote this place!

Ddorisyu4853The decoration is in the Western style of the 1980s. For some years, the room we stayed in still has paint smell. I don’t know if it has been repaired recently. I am a little worried about whether the health will be affected. The location is really partial, there is nothing around, the hotel is also small, only eight rooms, no public entertainment facilities, no public hot springs. It rained heavily on the day we arrived and could only stay in the room with no view. Be careful not to drive by yourself. Traffic is too difficult. Compared with such an expensive house price, I really want to faint. Just came from Asahi of Shuzenji the day before, this price is more expensive than Asana, but the experience is like mud. The price/performance ratio is too low. I don't know what the bottom line is. The good place is good service, good ingredients for dinner and breakfast, the next day the weather cleared, saw Mount Fuji, at the same time the hotel helped to contact a reasonable price taxi to the next destination, which is a little soothing to check the mood of the day.

I highly recommend the one-night-two-meals package; breakfast and dinner offer a wide variety and a pleasant dining environment. The bathing area reveals its rich history, with the sulfur traces at the outlet particularly noticeable. Transportation is also conveniently located just a two-minute walk from the station.
