Maafushi Hotels with Wi-Fi

"The room was absolutely satisfying – quite spacious with a large and comfortable double bed. The sea view from the balcony was excellent. The ground floor (G level) houses the restaurant, while what Trip.com calls the 'first floor' rooms (standard sea view rooms) are actually on the second floor. Deluxe sea view rooms, which are slightly more expensive, are on the third floor and above. The hotel guests are a mix of Europeans/Americans and Chinese. The front desk staff spoke English and I experienced no discrimination whatsoever. Some reviews mentioned that higher floors were given to Westerners, but perhaps they just booked a second-floor room to begin with. Actually, the second-floor rooms are also beautiful, perfectly level with the palm trees. Because Trip.com noted my booking as a 'first floor' room (which is actually the second floor, as the actual first floor is the 'G' level with only the restaurant and front desk, no rooms), I specifically requested a deluxe sea view room on a higher floor than the first, and I was given a room on the fifth floor with an amazing view. When arriving by speedboat, a dedicated staff member was there to pick us up. Although it was only about 200 meters, the hotel still used a golf cart for us and a three-wheeled vehicle for our luggage, delivering everything directly to our room after check-in. When departing, the front desk booked our speedboat tickets for us. The front desk manager personally saw us off to the golf cart and politely asked about our stay experience. The staff carried our luggage all the way to the boat. The service was truly superb. On our first day, we went out to sea, and I left my underwear on the bed since I was wearing my swimsuit. When we returned, the room had been cleaned, and my pajamas and underwear were neatly folded and arranged on the bed. Because the room attendant was male, my daughter and I felt a bit embarrassed. For the following days, we put up the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, and after returning in the afternoon, we only requested fresh towels and water refills. The staff would still often ask if we needed our room cleaned – the service was truly outstanding. The ground floor breakfast area has plenty of seating, and breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, which is perfect for not delaying our excursions. There's a wide variety of food, including egg pancakes and corn pancakes that cater to Chinese tastes. I didn't pre-book dinner, but there was a good selection, costing $20 per person, and cash payment was accepted. There are many island excursions available, offering plenty of deep-sea experiences and photo opportunities. All in all, my experience at Kaani Hotel on Maafushi Island was fantastic, and I highly recommend it."

"A room was booked for a VIP customer for one night with bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, due to severe weather conditions, traveling to the island was not possible, and we informed the hotel accordingly. Despite this, their policy was strictly non-refundable, which we accepted. However, when we requested an alternative option such as rescheduling for another date, the Kaani team did not provide any flexibility, even after direct contact. It is disappointing to see such rigid policies applied in circumstances beyond anyone’s control. In the Maldives, when the sea is rough and strong winds prevent travel, guests should reasonably expect some accommodation. Sadly, this was not the case, and I cannot recommend this property if timely travel is uncertain. The response we received when requesting alternatives was: ”Unfortunately we do not have alternative option, hotel booking policy dictates these terms and conditions when making a booking.”"

"Arena Beach was a delight and lovely venue and most of the staff were lovely. The tour/excursion team were very friendly and their excursions were great, affordable and memorable.  I only had a problem with one guy who racially profiled me when I was eating and confronted me if I had paid for the food and asked for my room number. That was disgusting and the hotel should train its staff of racism and micro aggressions. That spoiled my entire holiday.  However, one person’s opinion doesn’t make the entire hotel bad. I will stay at Arena again."

"This oceanfront hotel was a fantastic experience. The rooms offered expansive views, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking the sea – absolutely stunning for watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening. The hotel was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The service was warm and attentive, check-in was quick, and the beach was right downstairs. It was very convenient for getting around. The gentle sea breeze and the sound of the waves created a truly relaxing vacation atmosphere. "Это самый дальний отель от бикини бич, но идти где-то 5-7 минут. Сам остров небольшой, где-то 1200м на 500м. Пляж только один (бикини бич). В море много мертвых коралов и камней, поэтому покупайте тапочки. Море очень мелкое - до 1м. На острове много экскурсий, ресторанов с живой музыкой, магазинов. Персонал отеля очень доброжелательный. На завтраки отель сам приносит Вам еду (нет шведсвого стола). Мы сначала думали, что завтрак скудный, но потом мы переезжали на другой остров, где отель стоил в 2 раза дороже и сравнивая с тем, могу сказать, что тут завтрак был просто огонь)))"

The hotel manager told us that it was more economical to eat in local currency on the island, and it was indeed true.
