"It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!"

"This is a Western-style villa that has been converted into a bed and breakfast/guesthouse. The facilities inside are very well maintained, especially the floors and stairs, which are luxurious and shiny. The owner is from Beijing, very enthusiastic and polite, though it was hard to find the AC switch in the lobby. The location is excellent, very close to the train station and Mount Omuro, and a taxi ride won't cost much. The best part is the great value for money, making it perfect for family travel. The hotel also offers pick-up service from the station before 10 PM."

"It's about a three-hour drive from Tokyo. It's located on a road facing the ocean, so it's easy to find. I booked the "Esthetic 60" plan through the Ikyu reservation site, which includes a 60-minute Balinese aroma treatment. There are 20 rooms in total. This time, I stayed on the top floor, the 8th floor, which features a private bar area offering drinks and snacks 24 hours a day. Other added perks include unlimited drinks at dinner and breakfast, and ramen for late-night snacks—a fantastic deal for those who enjoy alcohol. While the room has an open-air bath, there are also two other private baths, which you can check availability and use at any time. There's also a private sauna on the top floor, which costs an additional 3,000 yen per hour. Dinner and breakfast are both delicious. They even offer a convenient way to take dessert home with you after dinner to enjoy in your room, which was a nice touch. I visited on a weekday, and the price for a night for two people was just over 100,000 yen. Considering the content, I think it was a great deal, so I would definitely like to visit again if I have the opportunity."

"A good, but not new, hotel. It boasts a huge golf course, and indeed, the vast majority of guests are golfers who come for a weekend getaway to play without venturing down the mountain. If you have your own car, getting there is convenient. However, for exploring the region, the location isn't ideal; this hotel isn't really set up for that. You can, however, reach Ippeki Lake. I actually walked to the Komuroyama lift in 35 minutes through the camellia garden. From there, you can descend to Kawana Dolphin Beach, but the path isn't particularly convenient, and there are no direct buses. The closest bus stops to the hotel are in Yoshida, and from there, it's a 15-20 minute uphill walk along the road. You won't get lost, as there are plenty of signs. But it's not a straightforward or super easy route, especially if you have a lot of luggage. The rooms are quite standard. They have all the essentials: a kettle with green tea, a fridge, a TV, and various shampoos and gels in the bathroom (yes, there's a bathtub in the room). You can even see Mount Fuji from the window. The hotel itself has an interesting interior with cool details, such as an aesthetically pleasing lounge area before the dining room. The breakfast is good. Everything is tasty and varied; it’s definitely a step up from a basic economy hotel. There are fruits, vegetables, drinks, omelets, rice... and various meat and fish dishes, which I don't really pay attention to since I rarely eat them, but they were there. I didn't get to try the hot springs at the hotel, so I can't comment on them. Since I had already done a lot of hiking in the mountains over a few days, I requested a transfer for check-out. I was the only passenger! It took 7 minutes to Kawana Station, and a train to Ito/Atami was leaving 10 minutes later. Overall, it's an excellent hotel if you're not planning to spend a week traveling along the coast from here. For that purpose, it would be better to find something closer to the sea."

"It's about a ten-minute drive from Izu Kogen Station. The hotel is quite large, divided into several areas, ranging from luxury to economy. We booked a Japanese-style suite in the main building with a great view. The hotel has many free facilities that you can check on the map and experience one by one. The hot spring facility next door has an open-air bath. Soaking in the hot springs by the moonlit sea at night was very relaxing, with the constant sound of the waves. The breakfast included sashimi and various snacks, which was quite rich, but the selection was almost identical for two consecutive days. I'm giving three stars for service, specifically for the front desk. This hotel has quite a few Indian staff members. So why only three stars? The 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the hotel all have scenic ocean view rooms, but Chinese guests are always assigned to the 5th floor or rooms near the elevator. Having stayed at many hotels, I can sense the subtle discrimination and differential treatment here. If the price booked through Ctrip is lower than what Japanese tourists pay, then disregard my comment. Finally, this hotel is very family-friendly, perfect for those with children. If you prefer quiet, a hotel of this size won't be quiet at all; you should choose a smaller onsen ryokan instead."

"Pros: The room with a private hot spring bath was quite spacious, offering the experience of both a Japanese-style tatami mat and a regular bed. On the second floor, there are two washing machines and two dryers available; you can exchange 100-yen coins at the front desk to use them. The distance to Ito Station is decent, and along the way, you'll pass MaxValue (Aeon) and 7-Eleven, where you can stock up on water and snacks. There's also a handmade soba restaurant that tastes pretty good. The room was generally clean, and the price was reasonable, comparable to hot spring hotels in China, and possibly even cheaper during the off-season, with more convenient transportation. Cons: If it rains when you're heading to the hotel, carrying luggage can be quite a hassle. The hotel doesn't provide many disposable amenities, such as bottled water, combs, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The hotel's decor is quite classic, the lighting isn't very bright, and the worst issue of all was the sewer smell from the toilet."

"We chose Kameya Rakuan, recommended by fellow travelers. After finishing our trip at Shimoda Park, we took the Izu Kyuko Line to Ito. The hotel is a convenient 5-minute walk from Ito Station, and the path is flat, making it easy to handle luggage. The hotel staff, though a bit older, had some key information prepared in both Chinese and Japanese, so there were no language barriers. Our room was on the 6th floor, accessible by elevator. The futon beds were already set up in the tatami room. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The hotel offers two public onsen, Galaxy and Deep Sea, as well as a private onsen, all free of charge. The private onsen can be used if it's unlocked. The Galaxy and Deep Sea baths swap between male and female use at 2 AM, so be sure to check before you soak. Japanese yukata can be picked up on the first floor. Our room faced east, offering a sunrise view, but unfortunately, it was too cloudy that day for a perfect view. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money."
