First of all, the lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and patient. She asked us every day if we had any necessities. The room was clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. The hotel design was stylish and the fragrance was also very nice. When we left the hotel, the female manager at the front desk also gave the children gifts, and personally helped us push the luggage to the intersection and sent us to the car. Thank you very much.

IidoihappyThis is the first time I want to come to this city again because of the service of a hotel.
Let's talk about the service first: from the front desk to the room attendant, they are all friendly and polite. When I arrived at the hotel, a meeting was over and everyone checked out. I waited for a while. When I checked in, the service staff immediately apologized and upgraded the room for free. Arranged to send the luggage to the room. When I entered the room, I saw the welcome fruit, there was a unique sachet on the fruit plate, and a welcome card handwritten by the service staff. Yanming sachet is handmade, with a faint medicinal fragrance. I hung this sachet on my bag. When I am a little tired from traveling by car, I smell it, it is comfortable and refreshing. Such small details touched me again when I left the hotel. The front desk service staff handed me two bags of fruit and said that you were delayed when checking in. Give you supplies on the way. The check-in and check-out are not handled by the same service staff. Such attentiveness is really rare. Especially during the peak of May Day. Two days in Kaifeng, there are surprises when entering the room of Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel. The afternoon tea is exquisite and delicious; the supper is a thick stew of white fungus and lotus seeds and peach gum. Careful words and thoughts should be cherished. I took a picture of this welcome card. Thank you Wang Zhen for your service. Thank you to all the staff who served on 4/29-30.
Let's talk about breakfast. Chinese and Western food are rich. There are many choices. The environment is good. It is next to Jinming Lake. In the morning, I ate in the sunshine and the rippling water, and my appetite was particularly good.
This time, I feel that I have a good vision. It's the first time I stayed in Kaiyuan Mingdu. It's because the travel time is tight. I was moved by the words of a blogger on Xiaohongshu. This hotel is a scenic spot. It's true. Although I slept very late the night before, I was full of energy at 6:30 the next day and walked around the hotel. Jinming Lake deserves the reputation of a royal garden, with picturesque scenery and fresh air. On the third day, I mobilized my family to get up early and take a walk. My family decided not to leave in a hurry in the morning and took a leisurely walk. Leave calmly.
A good hotel will make the trip full of happiness. Slow down the hurried pace and experience that travel is a mobile home. Strangers are not just passers-by, and meeting each other is fate. This is the first time I write about my stay experience for a hotel. I hope it can help friends who come to Kaifeng.
PS: This hotel has a swimming pool and a small zoo in the park (parrots 🦜 and rabbits).

CCaomeiweijinliThis time I came to Henan with my mother, and our second stop was Kaifeng. I had a good impression of this hotel when I just checked in. This hotel provides body lotion (the first hotel in Luoyang did not have it. We came from Guangdong and did not know that the weather in Henan would be so dry, so we did not bring face cream, hand cream and body lotion). I specially booked a deluxe double bed to rest comfortably, but I did not expect to be woken up on the first night of my stay! It woke me and my mother up at 12 o'clock! As you can see in the video below, there is a loud running water sound. At first I thought it was the smart toilet that was malfunctioning and kept flushing, but when I got up I found that it was not the case. I kept looking for where the sound was coming from, and when I looked up I found that it was coming from the ceiling vent at the shower door. I guess it was the upstairs resident who was taking a shower. I have never stayed in a hotel with such poor soundproofing! I was noisy from 12 o'clock to 1 o'clock in the morning and couldn't fall asleep at all. I was very tired from playing these days and wanted to have a good rest, but I didn't sleep well and was very angry. I ran to the front desk and asked them to change my room! But they said that the room was fully booked and the other empty rooms were for maintenance and could only be moved when the tenants checked out tomorrow. I asked to be moved to the top floor! The next day I went out and found the front desk and asked them to move me there immediately. I asked for compensation for my loss and a refund of one night's room fee, and the hotel agreed. In this respect, the service attitude is very good. They moved me to a room of the same type on the 6th floor that day. Because I did not get a good rest the night before and was in a bad mental state, I did not have the energy to go on the next trip, so I had to go back to the hotel early to catch up on sleep. However, the soundproofing is not very good. I can hear people talking in the corridor clearly. I hope the hotel can pay more attention to the internal facilities.

EExpatFor some of the weekend, I took a train from Xi’an to Kaifeng. This weekend, a cold front came in. It didn’t matter because the Gulou night market had everything I needed to adjust. I found some hidden spots (like Bayu Morning Rikaye Alcohol, Lecker’s Leban German Restaurant, and Jieyou Grocery Little Bar) while exploring. The Millenium Park, Gulou Market, and Wansui Shan Wuxia City are very close. The hotel property is great for walking, and the room was really comfortable. Front desk was easy to communicate with despite the language barrier, and everything very efficient. There is a nice gym and pool, but I was out exploring. There is also a shuttle which can take you to a couple of spots nearby. This property is good for conventions or families, but I was fine as a solo traveler. Food good.

Road noise: The room is close to the main road. Even with the windows closed, you can still clearly hear the roar of passing trucks, and the whistling of the wind is like whistling in your ears.
Meetings disturb residents: The speakers in the hotel meeting room vibrate directly through the floors, making it very noisy. The meeting is on the 3rd floor, but those staying on the 11th floor can hear the meeting content clearly, as if they were living in an ”acoustic laboratory” with stereo surround sound.
Curtain blackout failure design
There is a fist-wide gap between the two curtains. At 6 o'clock in the morning, the sunlight shines obliquely onto the bed like a searchlight.
Bathroom lighting is dim
The sink and shower area are dim, which is not very friendly to guests wearing contact lenses.

Mmeiling tooThis is a new place with clean and spacious rooms. The owner is a very pleasant young man, always very obliging and quick to respond to all our requests. Eating shops are within walking distance. One of the shops served delicious yue tiao and soya drink.The sights will need a bit of walking but could still be reached by public bus, although you might have to change buses, depending on where you want to go to. A taxi costs about 18 yuan to the train station/long distance bus station.

SShue YingGood place for international guests! Aunty that runs the place is really nice and responsive. The stay was pleasant, the place is old but functioning and reasonably clean for a homestay. Aunty's children speak English and she'll ask them to help, so don't need to be afraid to ask questions. The location is amazing, with an electric ”hello bike (Alipay)” parking spot just on the main road, then everything is easily accessible. Aunty kindly offered to drive me the short distance to the main road to take bus 38 to the north train station as she felt my bag too heavy. Simple fuss free place, would recommend for budget travellers looking for convenience over amenities.
