"This was our second ski holiday in Austria and our first in Alpbach was excellent. We were certainly not disappointed with any aspect of our stay un the Hotel Barbarahof. I had read previous reviews and understand why previous customers rate the hotel so highly. The staff are very friendly and ensure your stay is a pleasant one. Like other guests we were late arrivals, but ushered straight to the restaurant for food. I had the biggest schnitzel I have seen, basically covering the plate. The four main staff in the restaurant were excellent (apologies for not getting their names). The choice at breakfast is excellent and as we were half board the options for dinner are superb. An array of breads and spreads, a soup dish, a selection of salad options then a choice of dishes for a main course. Generally one meat option, a fish dish or a vegetarian dish. This was then followed by a dessert, cheeseboard and chutney's, ice cream and a choice of candy/sweets (for the big kids). The bar area is very relaxing and has a great atmosphere. Also if you need to unwind, the Spa/Pool area is ideal. The location of the Hotel is also ideal for getting to the slopes, as the bus stop is right outside. A big thank you to the Mariacher family and especially there team. We hope to see you again in the future."

"It was really amazing stay for us. The staff is helpful and kind, breakfast tasty with everything you need, they make you fresh eggs. Dinner absolutely delicious for 35€ (appetizer, salad bar, soup, main course and dessert) I do not eat meat so they made me veggie version (or fish). Room was clean and cosy, wellness great with saunas, pool and gym. Location for skying 👌🏻👌🏻"

"At the beginning of November 2025, we were lucky on our very first visit to Kaprun, because we stayed in this amazing hotel. The boutique hotel near the center has everything a mountain visitor could wish for. Beautiful, non-violent architecture, modern rooms with amazing views and luxurious amenities - such as sauna, parking, ski storage and other. The exceptional location is complemented by the culinary experience in the hotel restaurant Margarethen stein, where, under the leadership of Mrs. Magdaléna, they will offer you delicacies in the form of a fusion of Asian, Italian, Traditional and game cuisine. They cook really well, they take care of their guests and we definitely recommend a visit. The interior is really impressive, dominated by a moose head :-). Everything can be top, but the most important thing is the staff. And the staff in this hotel is impeccable!!! Smiles, friendliness, willingness to help are distributed at every step. This is a family business and it shows. Thank you very much for everything Petra!!! If possible, we will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone!!!"

"Very frendly and service oriented staff but the apartment was totally overpriced for its value. Not clean dishes, not enough cooking utilies and no dining table for family. To charge EUR 1270 for three nights was a robbery. I would not go here again for this price. In the end it would be my own mistake to book it remotely based on nice pictures."

"We stayed as a family of five and were very happy here. Our three children had a bed each in the second room so no one had to sleep on the sofa bed in the lounge. There was a lovely spacious living room / kitchenette that made cooking and eating together very enjoyable. The supermarket in town is great with a huge selection and only a 5 minute walk away. The ski locker was fine with plenty of space for multiple families to don boots etc. There is a great sauna that was very welcome after a good days skiing. The bus to the main ski area is an easy 2 minute walk. You can walk to Kaprun centre in ski boots in perhaps 10minutes. The apartment was cleaned and prepared every day. Staff all super friendly and super helpful. There was a balcony on two side of the apartment with lovely views, although on this trip it was more useful as an outside beer chiller. Fab place. Would recommend."

"We stayed here in a standard studio as a family of 4 for 6 nights for a family ski holiday. It was fine, warm and comfortable but with a bit of wear and tear and not the cleanest on arrival. The space was good, the beds were comfortable and the little kitchen was useful. The location is good and there is a free bus that takes you through the town and two the main ski lifts. All the smaller supermarkets that are close on the map were closed so it's a bit of a walk to the main supermarket for food. There was nowhere close to or on site to get any food or drinks even a quick snack not even a working vending machine which was tricky when arriving late with young children and after long ski days when everyone is tired. All round there were no frills but a good basic apartment with a good ski room that heats and drys your boots. It was very quiet and peaceful and the staff were friendly and kind to the kids. It felt a little on the expensive side for what you get."

"I actually don’t know what to say…when we reached the place the apartment was not cleaned and we had to wait another hour to check-in and the admin lady was very confusing and didn’t know how to organize our stay but to be honest the lady in the reception was very friendly and helped us get hot water for our drinks. Overall I don’t recommend this place because there is many good places around that area and they don’t offer the summer tickets"
