Although it is far from the station, it is very convenient to have someone to pick it up by car. In the morning, you will be booked with you to determine the time to go.
The only inconvenience is that there is no supper in my order. There are no convenience stores around.
Other play facilities and hot spring bath facilities are ok
The prices are also very clean. I also arranged a large room for me alone
I ate breakfast at the hotel in the morning and loved waking up in the forest early in the morning.
Reservations must be made in advance (Japanese and English)
Waiting for pick-up at the general parking lot at Nakaruizawa Station, there will be signs on the car

Pros:
1. The room is very spacious, with a tatami bed for the third person. It was clean and well-equipped.
2. Convenient and free parking right outside the hotel entrance, although spaces are first-come, first-served.
3. Complimentary rental of umbrellas.
4. The private onsen was enjoyable, especially considering the public onsen at the adjacent building is unsheltered (hence the need for umbrellas).
5. Excellent location near Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza and Kyu-Karuizawa Main Street, providing easy access to numerous local shops and eateries.
Cons:
1. The breakfast was quite disappointing considering that this is a 4-star hotel and the other aspects are good. The bread was extremely hard and difficult to tear, and did not seem fresh. The overall variety of food was limited and not particularly appealing.

This is my third time staying at this hotel. I upgraded my room. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Yunchang Pond. The breakfast food is very high quality and worth buying. The hotel is as good as ever.

This hotel is a bit remote to those not driving . But the rate is very reasonable and by taxi is short distance to everywhere near train and outlet for shopping n food . The hotel restaurant for dinner is very good with live music and cost is very reasonable with good service . But you need to do reservation in advance . There is a big supermarket a few steps away that you could buy fresh produce to cook simple meal in your room’s kitchen . The public pool is sufficient and cleanliness is fair . Overall a value for money hotel .

The location is good, about 13 minutes walk from the station. There are supermarkets, coffee shops, and bookstores nearby. The hotel can rent bicycles. It is very convenient for people who don't drive to come to Karuizawa to ride and walk on the weekend. It feels good to live in this location at this price.
Before it was converted into a hotel, this building should have been a rest house for its employees by a certain company. The equipment is relatively old, but clean and sanitary. There is a toilet in the room but only a washbasin and no bathroom. You have to go to the large public bath on the first floor to take a bath. Although the large public bath on the first floor is not a hot spring, it is quite comfortable to soak in it. There is also a sauna room inside.
I didn't book breakfast at the hotel. I rented a bicycle from the front desk in the morning. I rode a bicycle to Kumoba Pond to listen to the birds singing, and then went to SAWAMURA in the old Karuizawa for breakfast. It was very good.

Felt cheated. Was told booking includes breakfast when checked-in, but during check-out then they mentioned only 2 adults were free and I have to pay for 2 children (above 6). Also, recommended to upgrade room for bigger size. However in the bigger room, the shower and toilet area is split to the front and back of the room. Suspect that end up the usable space is not much bigger.

The location is a bit far. It takes 20 minutes to walk. The only drawback is that there is no elevator on the second floor. If you have large luggage, it is difficult. There are some restaurants nearby. It is a 10-minute walk to the outlet. If you don't want to walk too far from the JR station, you can also take a taxi for ¥900. Overall, it is good. Great choice. Good value for money. The room is big enough! recommend!

We stayed in the cottage D, very old facilities, it’s a nice place but they should consider change their all appliances in the room, cos too old already. It’s very inconvenient that they don’t have a shuttle from cottage to lobby, we need to call them everytime we go out instead. The ski place was all man made snow, we were disappointed. We thought want to let the kids experience snow..

I was worried of the quality due to how cheap the booking was. But I was genuinely surprised how neat the building, lobby, rooms and bathrooms were when we got there. The place was convenient and close to the Outlet and convenience stores (by car) I like how comfort inn is very modern too as they have menu/further info that you can access via QR code once you are in the room. Even if you also place do not disturb on your door, you will still receive fresh towels/linens outside your door. Overall it was a pleasant stay. For those wondering, the front desk is 24/7, so you can check out as early as 3am. The only sad thing is I couldn’t bring my pet. I hope they can lift that policy in the future. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

GGuest UserIf you come here by car, and want to be close to nature in a quiet place, these small villas are the ideal place! The nearby 711 can buy everything you need for a short-term life. Our family spent two happy days here like a home!
LlamvyAn incomparable place, Karuizawa, super fun, very good skiing, the entire ski resort and several surrounding hotels belong to the Prince Hotel, Prince West is more convenient, you can actually take the free shuttle bus to the hot springs Ski resorts etc. Very nice experience.
AAnonymous UserHotel is in a great location, about 700m straightline walk from karuizawa train station. Room is compact but you have everything and is clean, amenities are provided at the lobby and you can take as needed, such as toner, cleanser and cream, hair brush, toothbrush, there's even body scrub. There's drinks provided for guests, you can have tea or coffee at all times. Hotel breakfast comes in brunch menu, food is nice and fresh. There's a also a lot of restaurants along this street so not to worry.
GGuest UserThe staffs there are super nice, they are willing to help and provide suggestions on the itinerary. Even though we are not staying for the 2nd night there, they allowed our baggages for temporary storage. Overall, the room is nice, the staffs are great, location is very convenient! Will definitely come back next time if I go to Karuizawa. Thank you
Ccloudy moonI Like the cleanliness of the hotel. Room is spacious. The front desk staff could communicate in English. Good if you drive there. Else, it’s a distance from the train station. St Paul church is just opposite of the hotel. There’s also a Japanese shin nearby. There are good bakery shops nearby for breakfast. We were there on 2 weekdays and there’s not many people and not many shops open. The restaurant next to it serves good pasta and pizza. We had our 2 dinners settled there. Karuizawa is a beautiful place. You may have a morning jog nearby and it’s so serene running around.
DDiqiumantouGreat hotel! Went there on a snowy day, like a fairytale cottage. The house was cleaned very cleanly, and the breakfast was rich and delicious. An extra surprise was that all snacks and drinks in the hotel room were free, with a wide variety of even fresh macarons and small cakes. I was embarrassed to finish it, so I took away a can of apple juice. I am very grateful for the good memories provided by the hotel.
AAdamI stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children during a two-night trip to Karuizawa in early February. The hotel is around 100 years old and its claim to fame is that John Lennon has stayed there. The piano that he played on is still in the bar.
Location: The hotel is near Old Ginza Street and around a 15-minutes drive from Karuizawa station. It was not difficult to find, but you must navigate a narrow approach to the hotel which is icy at this time of the year, so you must drive carefully.
Cleaniness: The staff told me that the hotel was only recently and everything was very clean and in good condition.
Service: The receptionist that conducted the check-in was probably the Japanese that spoke the best English that I had encountered on this trip. He spent a lot of time explaining the hotel to our family. The porter was also very helpful and polite. When we asked for extra toothbrushes and slippers for the children, housekeeping was very prompt in delivering them and even brought some children's robes for my sons.
Facilities: The hotel did not have many facilities. There is a small shop, a bar and a french restaurant but not much else. Some rooms had private hot springs in them and they gave us the opportunity to upgrade. Our room, had a small balcony even though we were on the ground floor. It looked onto a wooded area so there was not much to see, especially at night. However, when it snowed the next morning, my kids loved going out and playing in the snow. I was particularly impressed by the breakfast. It was a simple American breakfast very well presented. It was very pleasurable to look out into the inner courtyard with it was snowing.
Overall: I like this hotel as it has a lot of character. It is architecturally attractive and has kept a lot of its charm despite renovation. The staff are very professional and polite. I would stay in this hotel again.
YYan Yan IsabellaThe hotel is located on a remote mountain, more than ten minutes from the center. The rooms are a bit far away, but fortunately they are clean and hygienic, and the space is very sufficient. The most special thing is that you can use the small cable car to go up to the hot spring area. What is surprising is that the hot spring area has a very good environment and scenery. Beautiful, the spring water is very comfortable
SSeahOne of the best hotel I have stayed in Japan recently. The hotel is new and everything is sparkling clean. Rooms are big and comes with luxury perks usually found in 5 stars hotel like L'Occitane toiletries, 60 inch LED TV, manicure sets (free), ice cubes in pre-packed, etc and not to mention the 2 private onsen (need to reserve online). For the price point, this is a steal. It is walking distance to main shopping street though most shops are closed by 5=6pm. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserIt was my first time staying there, but it was very nice. Despite being close to the station, we were surrounded by trees and enjoyed the beautiful autumn leaves from the window in an environment typical of Karuizawa. The room was a Japanese-Western style room, but it was much nicer than the photo. Accommodation rates in Karuizawa have been high for a long time, and especially recently there are many hotels that are quite expensive, but this hotel was very reasonable and had very high quality dinner and service. I was especially impressed with the ingenuity of the dinner and the skill of the head chef. The tableware was carefully selected and I wanted to use it at home as well. The dining room was surrounded by large windows and the autumn leaves looked like a painting. Everything was of much higher quality than the photos on each site, and it was comparable to the hotel I had stayed at in Kyu Karuizawa. Considering the low price, this is a hotel I would recommend. I was once again reminded that a hotel is not just about its name.
