Spent a week here as a solo traveler, spectacular views, rooms are spotless, basic but everything you need, super friendly staff, very helpful, free shuttle service throughout the day to the nearby town and back again, great breakfast choice, bacon and eggs cooked to order, would definitely stay again, big thanks to Alex the owner for all his help

My daughter and I spent ten glorious days at this hotel. We loved everything about it - it's fabulous situation overlooking the port and Poros' bays, the wonderful views of the mountains and the sea, the delightful family who run the hotel (so efficient and friendly), the breakfasts, the swimming pool and the nearby tavernas and restaurants where you can idle away hours over fresh and fabulous Greek food and wine! We came away refreshed and relaxed and determined to return next year for more of the same. Just to warn the less-able, there are a lot of steps at the hotel and pathway to the port so probably best to ask the owners in advance for a lower-floor room and to make use of the shuttle bus rides the hotel offers.

Thank you Alex and family for the warmest of welcomes once again during my stay at the Oceanis earlier this month. My home from home and my most favourite place to be on the island of Kefalonia. I concur with all of the excellent reviews which speak for themselves, as does the fact that I have revisited time and time again. The perfect location to relax and unwind with an ambiance all of its own.

There is not much I can add to the positive reviews already received here. Great location, albeit built on the side of a hill, you do need to be able footed to consider staying here. All the rooms and common areas are kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast is exceptionally good in terms of variety and quality. We had a small balcony on our room that had a fantastic sea and sunrise view. It seemed that most if not all rooms enjoyed this view. Finally the family that run this hotel are extremely friendly and helpful.

The best 2* hotel we have ever stayed in. Owner went out of his way to make our holiday so enjoyable and relaxing. Breakfast excellent and beautiful views across the port. Free transport to and from the centre an added advantage for senior citizens.

Excellent, typically family run Greek hotel, beautiful views across Poros, good quality inclusive breakfast, I would recommend this hotel, it’s excellent in all aspects. The owners go out of there way to please and help in any way they can to make your stay the best possible, I’d return in a heartbeat.

We arrived at the hotel and were initially shocked at the basic nature of the rooms. We have been to Greece before and this seems to often be the case. We had the best holiday ever here! The family are so kind and welcoming it's like staying with friends or family. The rooms are basic but have the most epic views and a really comfortable bed. The breakfast it fab and there's loads of choice. The beach nearby is lovely and there's free sun loungers with a local taverna (just where they drop you off) for customer. The taverna is fab for lunch with a gorgeous giros for 3 euros 50. The pool area is great - never any sunbed wars which I hate. It's very quiet and peaceful and there's a bar on site. Generously, the hotel offers a free taxi service into the town throughout the day. These are reliable and regular. We ate at a number of restaurants but we adored the taverna that's just below the hotel. The views are incredible and it you book, they give you a fabulous table. This place is truly magical and now I'm home, I'm still gobsmacked about how beautiful it is. Thank you so much for hosting out favourite ever holiday! Jemma and Jake x

Alex and his parents are really accommodating they ensure you have all your needs we had to move to a larger room and it was no problem and only cost 15 euros extra it's spotless clean breakfast amazing everything you could possibly for breakfast and more. They have a shuttle bus to take you to the beach whatever you need they will put thereselves out to do it for you. Has a lovely clean pool, clean bedding and towels. lunch time menu round the pool are good large portions it's my 3rd time to this hotel recommend to hire a car as for me am elderly now so can be a little hilly, but the hotel can arrange all of this for you no problem, Jean x

Very Good

This holiday was booked through TUI. The hotel was generally good. The positives were: location was great for views of the area; our bedroom was good (we were offered two choices); the hotel was clean and the cleaning staff were excellent; the breakfasts were more than adequate; the room air con was excellent; the pool was adequate; our double bed was large and comfortable; the hotel was quiet at night which suited us and the snacks and drinks on offer were good and reasonably priced. With regard to the location of the hotel there is a significantly steep climb up from the harbour and the town and the complimentary mini bus to the town was an essential service. There were some things that needed improvement: the hotel could be far better with a bit of TLC and simple maintenance. Our shower and toilet was tight but the shower was poor, for the want of a new shower head fitting to replace the one which was hanging loose off the wall would have made a great deal of difference to our stay. The pool area and sun beds needed maintenance (or replacement). Fixing the sun beds so that the back rests were safe and secure would go a long way to making the poolside a better place. The hotel is a 'rabbit warren' with bedrooms on many different levels over 5 floors and no lift. Anyone with mobility issues needs to think carefully before coming here. The owners were pleasant and mostly helpful, but they looked fatigued and gave the impression that they needed additional help, especially with the requests for the transport to and from the town. The coach transfers (organised by TUI) took 2 gruelling hours on arrival and just over an hour on the homeward journey. The Oceanis was the last drop off, (even the TUI rep gets off the coach at Skala and leaves the driver to complete the transfer). So add 2 hours to your overall journey and in high temperatures. Note: if you drove from the airport without stops it would be around 45 minutes. This is not the fault of the Hotel. As mentioned the breakfast provided was a good selection and additional cooked breakfast can be ordered at reasonable cost. Whilst we were here every breakfast was plagued by wasps, not the hotel's fault directly, but an issue for many guests. At times the majority of guests tried to eat inside (to get away from the wasps) but unfortunately the inside area was not large enough to accommodate everyone. We ate some midday and evening meals at the nearby Agrapidos restaurant and did not suffer from wasps and neither did we when eating at the hotel's bar which was pretty close to the breakfast room; this suggests that there was a local wasp nest near the room and maybe something could have been done to eradicate? Without the bus service to the town it is possible to walk down if you are reasonably fit. The shortest route is very steep and arduous and if done before the high temperatures are reached its a reasonable walk. But only those with good fitness could make the journey back and the h

This place is a little gem. The views over the harbour are breath taking . Alexander is a true credit to this family run hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and the rooms are spotlessly clean . There is a local taverna nearby that serves great traditional Greek food. We will definitely return .

2nd stay at Oceanis. In fact we booked this holiday within a week of returning home last year. Run by a lovely family who work so hard to cater for your every need from shuttle into town..great buffet breakfast with cooked to order eggs if you want them, great snack bar, rooms cleaned and towels changed every day, its everything you possibly need and we love it. The views are also spectacular. Thank you Alex, Peter, Maria and Alloura.

Our second stay here and it was fantastic. Perched high above Poros with incredible views over the marina to the mountains and out across the sea, this place is stunning. The family team, especially Alexander, do all they can to make your stay perfect. Nothing is too much trouble. They can arrange everything for you from transfers, car hire and your boat trips. No problem at all getting down to the town centre because Peter will drop off and collect you if you can't manage the hill. It feels more like staying with friends than being in a hotel, it's lovely.
