Hotels in Lamai Beach, Koh Samui

My wife and I chanced upon Silavadee while looking for a short Koh Samui getaway to celebrate our anniversary - and so glad we found Silavadee. The Google reviews did not disappoint, as it’s possibly one of the best resorts we’ve stay in yet! We travel to a couple of resorts around the SEA during our weekend getaways but this past weekend topped the charts for us. From our arrival all the way to our departure, Silavadee’s team members never failed to display the widest smiles everyday; even if sometimes they did not understand much English - we appreciated their big wide smiles! Special mention to the Duty Manager, TICK as well as front office staff ICE and KORN, who both made sure we were extremely were taken care of throughout our stay and whenever we had any queries. We had a small hiccup with the housekeeping team during our stay, but TICK managed it extremely well and also so kindly got us a late check out as our flight is only departing at 19:25hrs today, back to Singapore. Your private beach team member, JB is also worth a special mention - his command of English is commendable, and we enjoyed our time interacting with him during our stay. A very positive guy whom we noticed was also picking up trash on his own initiative to ensure our private beach was as immaculate as it could be! Good location, not bad, could be better if a few steps from the beach. Not far from a night market where you can eat well. That said, it's not common but the food at the hostel is super good at a very competitive rate. Don't look elsewhere! You've got all the food you need on site

It was an awesome stay at Thai Fight hotel. I really happy that i choose this hotel. It is really nice decoration, big pool area and we can hear sound of waves from the room! So many angles of this hotel are instagrammable. The free session of muay thai was also amazing. The trainer is pro fighter and really passionate in explaining the steps to us.

CENTARA life, Koh Samui, Lamai Gleich vorweg: Das Centara Life ist m. E. kein Urlaubshotel, eher ein Business-/Wochenendhotel … ich hatte mich auf ein CENTARA-Hotel gefreut, aber:  Nicht überall wo CENTARA drauf steht ist auch CENTARA drin … es ist irgendwie ein völlig neues Hotelkonzept, Positionierung zwischen „high class“ und „normal class“  … Zimmer dicht an dicht, Balkon einer neben dem anderen, getrennt mit einer dünnen Holzwand … 4 Stockwerke hoch … damit sehr viele Zimmer, die aber sind überraschend groß, sauber und äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichtet … Ich habe ein Zimmer mit großzügigen Balkon … jetzt das ABER: die Aussicht hat nichts mit grüner Natur der Insel geschweige türkisfarbenen Wasser zu tun, ich blicke auf einen Parkplatz, einen großen Strommasten und auf die Dächer von unzähligen Häusern/Hütten … einige von denen wandeln sich abends zu lauten Sport-Bars und Kneipen um … lautes Gedröhne von nah und fern bis weit in die Nacht, nein - bis in den nächsten Morgen … abends sitze ich mit Oropax auf meinem Balkon und versuche zu lesen… trotzdem dröhnt es … im Restaurant des Hotels ist dagegen nichts los … nur gut, dass ich nicht auch noch die vom Reiseveranstalter angebotene Halbpension gebucht habe … der Swimmingpool - klein aber fein … 15 Liegen finden Platz … der tolle Strand von Lamai ist fussläufig in  10 Minuten erreicht.  Unterm Strich: das CENTARA life ist ein modernes Hotel, gehobene Ausstattung, große Zimmer und ich treffe auf ein durch und durch kompetentes Personal; die Umgebung ist sehr laut, ist schrill, lädt zu einem „Massage- und/oder Bier-Marathon“ ein - promenieren, gemütliches Laufen in der in nur ein paar Schritten entfernten Hauptstraße ist ab 19:00 nicht möglich - dicht gedrängter Verkehr inmitten lauter Musik-Bars, Souvenir-Shops und Thai-Restaurants …

Not bad for a 3 stars hotel, spacious room. Located near Lamai market, walking distance. Many amenities nearby, very convenient. Room lack of hair dryer and lobby doesn’t provide international adaptor. Overall was a good experience just to sleep 1~2 nights.

I felt very comfortable at LamoonLamai. The room is beautifully decorated and was cleaned daily. There is a spacious closet to store clothes, a safe for valuables, a spacious bathroom with a bathtub and a cozy balcony to relax on. The room was also equipped with a small refrigerator and a TV and a very large and comfortable bed! If I had any questions, I could always turn to the very friendly owner.

Unfortunately, the yoga instructor was not available, hence, we didn’t get to enjoy the yoga sessions as planned. If only the hotel is contactable and we can plan on other dates. Their reservation email is not working, then how do we get in touch with the hotel? Sent 2 emails and yet the staff said there were no emails received. How strange! The room we were checked in was hot like sauna, and we requested to change the room. The staff said it’s due to the hot weather therefore room is warmer. Rubbish! It’s the AC issue, don’t blame the weather. We were moved to another room but we still need to request for a fan in the room to circulate the cool air. It’s a nice resort but the poor maintenance is a turnoff! We still enjoyed our stay as the staff at the restaurant are very nice and friendly. Overall the resort experience is nice, just the room maintenance was very poor.

If you are looking to stay in Lamai, this is a great place. The garden bungalows have a nice Thai feel to them. The beach is kept clean with a nice number of sunbeds available for use. There is a jetsky rental, so there is a little jetsky traffic in the water. I don't recommend the breakfast, but they do have some decent Thai options for lunch and dinner. The staff was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. Even the resident dog is friendly.

First, about the minuses, because they need to be remembered. Probably the main one - the road is nearby, my windows overlooked the road (I was reluctant to pay extra for the rooms opposite, with an awesome view of the pool and the sea, I decided that I would not be in the room most of the time anyway), hence the noise, the soundproofing of the windows is completely absent. Sometimes even earplugs did not help (but this is rare, only when a crazy motorcyclist decided to show everyone how smart he is by making noise at night). The second minus, of my particular room, was a leaking toilet tank, sometimes I managed to deal with it, sometimes not. But I guessed to tell the staff about it only when checking out. It was annoying, but not very much. That's all about the minuses. Pros and emotions. Let's go. Incredibly friendly and nice hotel staff. The rooms are clean, every day they offer water, tea, etc., if necessary, they will clean the room. No insects were noticed in the room, no ants, no bedbugs, even the geeks didn't brighten up my loneliness) A nice and clean pool, the area is clean and well-kept. Everyone is busy. At night, there is a duty officer, I left the key with him so as not to carry it with me and not to lose it. You can also rent a bike here, but they talked me out of it, since I have no driving experience at all. They also talked me out of it at the rental company) they didn't want me to crash. It's sad, but thanks for the concern. It's about 10 minutes on foot to the sea. I can't say it's close, but I'm not too tired of walking either. In general, if I ever find myself on Samui again, I will most likely stay at this hotel.
